Abstract

The brush assemblies ensure balanced spread of ink as well as of the dampening medium for offset printing and eliminate weak spots with inadequate ink transfer from the fountain roller to plate cylinder. In the case of multi-colour printing several bushes are included and these are set angularly with respect to the cylinder. This simplifies the cleaning, while the effect of ink spreading is enhanced by reciprocation of the brushes in relation to rollers. The brush assembly may be in the form of a strip having up to four rows of bushes in 90 deg. spacing.
