Abstract

Measurements of speed of globular sedimentation which will take place in periods of time of 1 hour to 24 hours may be effected in about 1 minute with all the attendant advantages. Tubes to be used for the speed of sedimentation tests are placed in a centrifuge which turns at a speed such that the weight is 1440 times greater than normal. Photographic equipment above the centrifuge takes photographs automatically fromstarting the centrifuge, in conjunction with a scale at the bottom of the centrifuge but above the tubes. This gives a masure of parallax so that the speed of sedimentation can be measured. The tubes can be identified.
