Abstract

Insecticide dispensing composition comprising (a) a compound of formula: R.O2C.S.CH.CN as active component, where R is alkyl (1-4C); R' is H, alkyl (1-4C); (b) an absorbent carriers of fibrous or porous matter, or polymeric material; (c) optional conventional additives such as plasticizers perfumes, dyes, coevaporants, additional insecticides and (d) an outer film of high molecular weight having a thickness of 5-500 mu m. The very volatile thiocarbonate insecticide is released more regularly by means of the enclosing film. Carriers may be felt, wood and other cellulose materials, alumina, porous pdt., pumice, asbestos, polymers esp. PVC and its copolymers. The outer film may be laminate of paper and film former, or may be painted or sprayed on the surface of the dispenser block. Suitable film-formers are polyethylene, polyvinyl chloride.
