Abstract

An extruder for plastics has a revolving, sliding screw and comprises a feed zone, a transformation zone and metering zone. The screw contains an axial duct extending from the back end at least beyond the front end of the transformation zone; this duct houses an electrical heating rod to heat at least the transformation zone. Pref., a temp. sensor at the front end of the heating rod actuates an external current feed controller.
