Abstract

A superconductor compsn. NbxAlyGe(1-y) where x is 1.9-2.8, pref. 2, and y is 0.5-0.9, pref. 0.8, has a transition temp. of >=19 degrees K and consists of the tetragonal sigma and beta tungsten phases. The material may be produced by annealing arc melted compsns. or cold pressing and heating at 1450-1800 degrees C. and may be cold worked without adverse effect on the transition temp.
