Abstract

An adhesive, pref. an epoxy resin contg. Al particles, is applied to the contact surface of the bulb and/or reflector which has a complementary shape. The bulb and reflector are put together and the adhesive is allowed to harden to form a hermetic seal. The atmos. in the bulb is then replaced, at a temp. above dew point of the ambient atmos. with an atmos. contg. no water vapour, pref. an oxygen-free mixture contg. N2 and A, and the orifice is sealed.
