Abstract

Printer's blanket for high speed offset printing contains one or more reinforcing layers (A) situated on that side of a compressible layer (B) which is opposite to the printing surface (D), and (B) consists of a cellular elastic polymer layer the cells of which are produced by introducing hollow microspheres into the polymer. Pref. microspheres have 0.0125-0.125 mm dia. and are pref. elastic and/or break under pressure and consist of glass, phenol resin or thermoplastic such as acrylonitrile/vinylidene chloride copolymer.
