Abstract

Therapeutic compn. comprising an enzyme, mixture of takadiastase, a fungal cellulase, papain and a fungal lipase associated with sorbitol in an effervescent citric acid/NaHCO3 base. The compsn. is useful in treating digestive disorders e.g. those associated with gastritis or colitis, or after gastrectomy or cholecystectomy. The enzyme mixture is stable and active in the various pH values found in the GI tract. The sorbitol stabilises the enzyme mixture and stimulates duodenal and pancreatic secretion.
