Abstract

Compositions for transparent rubbers of mixture of a copolymer of ethylene/propylene or ethylene/propylene/unconjugated diene with an inorganic filler. These compositions may be vulcanised with an organic peroxide or sulphur. The inorganic filler has a R.I. n25d of 1.40-1.55 (esp. 1.47-1.49) and may be SiO2 or MgCO3 added at rate of 5-200 parts/100 parts copolymer. Greatly improved heat and weather stability, as shown by comparison in example below.
