Description

TANK COVER 72937
The invention relates to a container lid made of a resiliently deformable plastic material, having a downwardly directed lid edge provided with an inner annular resilient strip which nests with a peripheral strip or edge strip located in a closable container.
The types of lids used in hermetically sealed containers, such as paint cans, are often difficult to remove because effective closure requires strong biasing of the container lid material.
The object of the present invention is to facilitate the removal of tight container lids from containers, and this object is achieved by the bent edge edge associated with the resilient edge continuing as an annular release edge which locks in place in two positions by means of resilience, and said release edge can be bent from a downward position. nested / with the rim of the container, in an upward open position in which the resilient strip is detached from the rim of the container or is in only slight tension with it.
. The edge of the lid and the release edge form a two-position intermediate connection, since the intermediate part of said edges forms a pivotable connection and the tension on the circumference of the release edge acts springily so that in one position the edge helps to hold said elastic strip only in slight contact with said container edge strip. By moving its fingers along the lower surface of the release edge, the spindle handler can easily move the edge away from the bent closed position where the tensile force on the circumference is at its maximum, thus bending the release edge to the open position. Now the lid can be easily removed, and when the container is in use, the lid can be placed loosely in place to temporarily protect the contents.
An embodiment of the lid according to the invention is characterized in that the inner surface of the edge of the lid is provided with an annular groove which extends cartilage-like downwards at said edge of the lid towards a thin bendable point just above the elastic. This embodiment is particularly suitable for axially tensioned lids, since the lower surface of the lid is tightly opposite the edge of the lid mouth along a narrow closure line, as the bent edge of the lid is radially outside the mouth of the container and extends to the lid surface through a strong bend be transmitted. The described type of cover is axially tense, since the distance between the mouth of the container edge and the container or the underside of the edge strip of the revocation list is larger than the lid seal line and the vertical distance between said open position of the lid rim joustollstan upper side. When the lid is placed on top of the container, a strong axial tension is exerted on the edge of the lid, and the greater the required pressure per unit area per line of the container between the mouth and the lid, the greater the tension. Since the edge of the cover is only axially tensioned and thus only under tension, the joint between the edge of the cover and the release edge can be relatively thin-walled, and bending the release edge from one position to practice requires only overcoming the maximum circumferential stretching force of the release edge.

3 72937 extending tensile force at its maximum in the closed position or in the open position, and for this reason the release edge can be directed practically perpendicularly downwards in order to avoid as few problems as possible when placing the containers side by side. Other types of containers, such as marmalade containers or the like, which have outwardly bottling side walls below the mouth edge of the container, may be provided with release edges having a larger diameter in the closed position of said edge than in the open position, in which case the tensile force on said edge is circumferential. larger in the closed position, and this is very important for those types of lids where the tight closure between the mouth of the container and the lid of the container is based on radial prestressing.
The cover according to the invention is characterized by the features mentioned in the characterizing part of claim 1.
In the following, the invention will be further illustrated with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: Fig. 1 shows a radial pedal sectional view of a lid according to the invention, Fig. 2 shows a top view of said lid, Fig. 3 shows a cross-sectional view of a preferred embodiment of the lid.
The table lid shown in Figs. The lower surface of the radial edge portion 4 is provided with an axial guide edge 72 and a sharp closure strip 7 opposed to the mouth edge of the container along a narrow closure line. When the container is tightly closed, a resilient strip 6 inside the edge 2 of the lid is nested with a downwardly directed locking edge located at the end of the edge 9 projecting from the wall 10 of the container. Figure 3 shows, in broken lines, the cartilaginous edge part 3 in the position in which the lid is loosely in place on the container. When the lid is firmly placed on the container, the conical edge portion 3 is pressed down - shown in solid lines - axially by pressing so that the resilient strip 8 is nested with the locking edge of the container edge 9. The edge 2 of the lid is thus subjected to an axial stretching force, as a result of which the closing strip 7 presses strongly against the mouth of the container.
Immediately above the resilient strip 8, the edge 2 of the cover is provided with an annular groove 11 extending through the thin-walled part 12 to the release edge 13, which in the closed position faces downwards, as shown in the figure.
When the user of the container wants to remove the lid, he runs his fingers along the lower surface of the release edge 13 and applies outward pressure to increase the circumferential tension so that the edge suddenly snaps up to its upper position indicated by the dashed from a point in the thin-walled part 12 which pivotally joins the edge 2 of the cover and remains in its extreme positions 5 72937 due to the tensile force acting on the circumference of the edge. If the release edge 13 is shaped in such a way that in the closed position it extends farther from the wall of the container in the radial direction, the increased traction on the circumference results in an even tighter connection of the resilient strip 8 and the container edge strip.
It is not absolutely necessary to completely separate the closure strip from the edge strip 9 of the container in the embodiment shown in Fig. 3 when the lid is removed or placed in the container. The container lid according to the invention, which has a two-position resilient edge, can be shaped in different ways than shown in the drawing. In particular, the perimeter of the lid may be a regular polygon with rounded corners to fit corresponding polygonal containers, such as food containers, lunch boxes, food jars and the like.

A container lid made of a resiliently deformable plastic material having a downwardly directed lid edge (2) provided with an inner annular spring strip (8) which can fit with a closable container edge strip (9), said lid edge associated with the elastic strip (8) (2) continues as an annular release edge (13) which locks in place in two positions by means of a spring and which can be bent from a downward position in which the tension strip (8) can be opposed to the edge strip (9) to an upward position in which the spring strip (8) is detached from or slightly tensioned in contact with the container edge strip (9), characterized in that a) the lid edge (2) is located outside the container mouth at a radial distance therefrom, and b) extends sharply as a conical edge portion (3) of the lid, and that c) the vertical distance between the edge of the mouth of the container and the lower edge v of the edge strip (9) of the container is greater than the vertical distance between the sealing edge (7) of the cover and the upper surface of the resilient strip (8): the release edge (13) in its downward position in the detached (untensioned) cover, and which groove (11) extends conically downwards towards the thin, flexible part (12), immediately above said resilient strip (8).
