Abstract

A method of reducing curling in pressed sheet material is disclosed. The undeformed sheet material is pressed to sequentially form opposite and separated bend radii. During such pressing, the separating section between the bend radii is subjected to a sliding fulcrum to bend and unbend said section as well as rub one side of the panel to impart a first strain. The panel is counter rubbed on its opposite side to impart a strain opposite to the first strain to reduce or eliminate curling.
