DESCRIPTION

PORTABLE MACHINE FOR PRINTING INKJET IN MURALES

SECTOR OF THE TECHNIQUE TO WHICH THE INVENTION REFERS

The invention presented affects the Sector of Various Industrial Techniques within the Decorative Arts chapter, directly affecting the industry of preparation of images and publicity motifs in public murals.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Currently the illustration of public walls and murals with drawings or advertising motifs is done by gluing large posters of paper, cardboard, wood or any other support, previously printed or by direct painting made by specialists in the subject on the canvases of the buildings, which requires the previous installation of scaffolding or structures to facilitate the movement of the painter in a vertical and horizontal direction.

There have been structures with mobile heads for painting on vertical panels using airbrushes that have been abandoned due to lack of precision and defective final results of the images obtained.

Vinyl media of large dimensions are also used to cover the facades of buildings during the periods of restoration that are decorated with photographs of film artists, landscapes or imitations of the facade itself in solutions known as trompe l'oeil. These large advertising media also serve to finance the restoration work.

To be able to see images in large murals, it is also possible to project them by means of light cannons, which is frequent in festive shows of light and sound. But this case does not refer to the realization of permanent wall motifs that is the object of this invention.

The authors of the present invention do not know antecedents on portable devices for the realization of wall paintings without need of structures of scaffolding that always implies an increase in total expense, in addition to the dangers inherent in working at heights.

DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Taking into account the aforementioned background, the inventors conceive the solution presented in this document whose main characteristic is its portable character and which, basically, consists of an inkjet printer, of large dimensions, which is installed in front of the wall or mural that is intended to decorate. The device is also usable on glazed supports or any other flat surface preferably oriented vertically.

The technology used is known as "CMYK" of the acronym Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Key, that is, it is the process technique that consists of a subtractive color model widely used industrially in painting and plastic arts.

This model is based on the absorption of light by the bodies, resulting in the color of an object corresponding to the part of the light that falls on it and that is not absorbed by that object.

In principle we work with a resolution of 360 x 720 dpi (dots per inch) with the particularity that the ink projected on the surface being painted is dried immediately by ultraviolet LED light.

The machine, which as indicated is portable, consists of a detachable frame or support that is installed in front of the mural to be decorated. The frame is capable of receiving a mobile tower that, by means of the appropriate guides, can move horizontally from left to right. In turn, the tower receives the paint head that with the appropriate guides is able to move up and down. According to this assembly the head can move according to the axes X-X and Y-Y for what has the corresponding motorization.

Complementing these movements the head is equipped with an injection block that can be moved according to a third axis ZZ orthogonal to the plane formed by axes XX and YY, cited above. This allows the head to approach or move away from the surface to be decorated, with the characteristic that the movement on the ZZ axis has two degrees of adjustment; the first is to adjust the injection block at a distance to the wall of approximately 1 cm and the second, of great precision, is automatically ordered when small irregularities in the wall are detected that could cause defocusing of the projection.

The painting is developed in vertical movements in "multipass" passes that overlap the successive strips being all governed by a computer through the appropriate software.

There are machine accessories that refer to the power supply for the movement of motors and the corresponding link from the card of the head to the computer via USB connection.

There are also main ink supply tanks for each color with small sub-tanks installed next to the head.

The whole machine is portable and equipped with wheels to facilitate movements.

The following sections include schematic drawings and a preferred embodiment by the inventors that allow to clearly understand the scope and advantages of the device that is presented.

PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION

Portable machine for inkjet printing in murals (1) (Fig.l) consisting of an inkjet printer, large size and performance, which is installed in front of the wall or mural that is intended to decorate with images or prints and governs from a computer of the usual scheduled for the purpose. In a preferred embodiment by its inventor, it basically comprises the following elements:

- Support frame

- Tower

- Head

- Consumables box

- Electronic box

- Energy box

- Computer

- Accessories

The support frame (2), is a removable structure, built in profiles of light material such as aluminum, plastic or similar on which a tower (3) can slide in horizontal movements, according to the axis XX, built with profiles of the same characteristics that the support frame (2) is also removable.

The sliding of the tower (3) along the support frame (2) is carried out precisely thanks to the existence of guides and bearings that permanently guarantee its stability being its motorized movement with a stepper propellant that does not it only orders movements but it secures each position during the time defined by the corresponding program.

The head (4) is installed on the tower (3) with the possibility of sliding vertically along the Y-Y axis. The characteristics of its movement on the tower (3) are similar to those of the tower (3) on the support frame (2), that is, with guides, bearings and positioning and movement controlled by stepper motor. On the head (4) is located the actual injection block which has the property of moving along the Z-Z axis with two degrees of adjustment. One to place the injection block at a distance of approximately 1 cm to the wall or panel (12) to be decorated another automatically controlled by distance sensors that corrects possible irregularities of the wall avoiding blurry definitions of the image.

The continuous supply of ink to the injection block in the head (4) is carried out through the feed belt (6) which accommodates any of the possible positions in height of the said head along the tower ( 3). Said supply is carried out in the first instance from some sub-tanks installed in the head (4) which are fed by the four main tanks housed in the box of consumables (5) each of which, corresponding to the four colors of ink, has a capacity of about two liters.

An important feature of the head (4) and its injection block is that they incorporate small UV UV led light bulbs which, in the painting process, directly affects the fresh ink projected on the panel (12) causing immediate drying .

For the proper control of the machine (1) of the invention in the computer aspect, it has the electronic box (7), installed in the tower (3), which is related to the computer (10) by the cable USB connection (11). For the control of the printer, a special software for dimensioning and ripping "RIP" "Raster Image Processor" of digital images is loaded.

Finally, everything necessary for the control of the power organs is counted on the power box (8) that communicates with the tower (3) through the cable harness (9).

The final result is a portable machine that, once installed in front of a panel (12), any wall or wall, with the consequent adjustment of distances cited in previous paragraphs, allows to print all kinds of images (13) with excellent definition and very good performance that can reach about 7m2 / h or higher. The size that can be covered, according to first experiences, is about 2400mm x 2200mm resulting in a portable machine that is also equipped with wheels (14) to facilitate travel.

In any case, nothing prevents designing larger machines, although this could reduce their advantages from the point of view of portability.

It is not considered necessary to broaden the content of this description so that a person skilled in the art can understand its scope and the advantages derived from the invention, as well as develop and carry out the object of the invention. However, it should be understood that the invention has been described according to a preferred embodiment thereof, so it may be susceptible to modifications without this implying any alteration of the basis of said invention, which may affect such modifications to shape, size and / or manufacturing materials; that is, the terms in which this preferred description of the invention has been exposed, should always be taken in a broad and non-limiting manner.

Claims (10)

1. - Portable machine for inkjet printing in murals consisting of an inkjet printer, large size and performance, equipped with wheels, which is installed in front of the wall or mural that is intended to decorate with images or prints and is governed from a computer of the usual programmed for the purpose, characterized in that it comprises a support frame (2), a tower (3), a head (4), a consumables box (5), an electronics box (7), a box of energy (8), a computer (10) and various accessories.
2. - Portable machine for inkjet printing in murals, according to claim one, characterized in that the support frame (2) is a fixed, removable structure, made with aluminum profiles, plastic or any other light material.
3. - Portable machine for inkjet printing in murals, according to claim one, characterized in that the tower (3) is a mobile, removable structure, made with aluminum profiles, plastic or any other light material that can move horizontally with precision according to the XX axis along the support frame (2) on guides and bearings being driven by a stepper motor.
4. - Portable machine for inkjet printing in murals, according to previous claims, characterized in that the head (4) slides vertically with precision according to the axis YY with bearings and guiding means being also driven by a stepper motor.
5. - Portable machine for inkjet printing in murals, according to previous claims, characterized in that on the head (4) is mounted an injection block that can be moved with precision according to the ZZ axis with two degrees of adjustment of distance with respect to the mural or panel (12) which is decorated, one of which is governed from the computer with tolerance of / - 1 cm and the other is automatic governed by sensors with tolerance of / - 1 mm.
6. - Portable machine for inkjet printing in murals, according to previous claims, characterized in that the printing is made with a resolution of 360 x 720 dpi according to CMYK technology of four-color printing with ink supply, through the feeding tape (5), from the consumables box (5) with four tanks of about two liters each located in the tower (3) and sub-tanks of smaller capacity located in the head (4).
7. - Portable machine for inkjet printing in murals, according to previous claims, characterized in that the drying of the ink is carried out instantaneously by LED spotlights of ultraviolet light located in the injection block.
8. - Portable machine for inkjet printing in murals, according to previous claims, characterized in that it is governed by means of a computer (10) programmed with a special software for dimensioning and ripping "RIP""Raster Image Processor" of digital images that sends commands to the electronics box (7) via USB connection cable (11).
9. - Portable machine for inkjet printing in murals, according to previous claims, characterized in that the power organs are fed from the power box
