Abstract

Para algunas aplicaciones, se puede utilizar en forma satisfactoria una baranda de protección de viga Thrie. Otros tipos de barandas de protección, plegadas y no plegadas, se pueden utilizar satisfactoriamente con postes 30, 130, 230, 330 y 530 de soporte desprendibles que incorporan las enseñanzas de la presente invención. Algunas veces se pueden describir los postes 30, 130, 230, 330 y 530 de soporte desprendibles como postes de soporte de accionamiento directo.
Se pueden utilizar satisfactoriamente diversas técnicas que se conocen bien en la técnica para instalar postes 30, 130, 230, 330 y 530 de soporte desprendibles dependiendo del tipo de condiciones del suelo y otros factores asociados con la carretera y los riesgos que requieren la instalación de sistemas respectivos 20, 120, 220, y 320 de baranda de protección de autopista. Para muchas aplicaciones, los postes 30, 130, 230, 330 y 530 de soporte desprendibles pueden ser impulsados en el suelo utilizando un accionador neumático y/o hidráulico de tamaño apropiado. Como resultado, los postes 30, 130, 230, 330 y 530 de soporte desprendibles se pueden retirar fácilmente del suelo utilizando una grúa de tamaño apropiado u otro tipo de herramienta de tracción. La Patente Estadounidense 5,503,495, titulada Terminal de Viga Thrie con Liberación de Cable de Poste Desprendible, muestra un ejemplo de un poste de soporte desprendible con este tipo de cimiento.
Como se muestra en las FIGURAS 1, 2 y 3, el poste 30 de soporte desprendible incluye un cuerpo 32 alargado definido en parte por el alma 34 con bridas 36 y 38 unidas a esta. El cuerpo 32 alargado se puede formar al cortar una viga en forma de l de acero (no mostrada expresamente) en secciones que tienen la longitud deseada para el cuerpo 32 alargado. Un par de ranuras 40 y 42 alargadas se forman preferiblemente en la brida 36 en extremo opuesto de el alma 34. De forma similar, un par de ranuras 44 y 46 se forman preferiblemente en la brida 38 en lados opuestos de el alma 34. Las ranuras 40, 42, 44 y 46 se forman intermedias al primer extremo 31 y segundo extremo 33 del poste 30 de soporte desprendible. Las ranuras 40, 42, 44 y 46 definen en parte una conexión frágil o deformable entre una parte superior y una parte inferior del poste 30 de soporte.
La longitud del poste 30 de soporte desprendible y la ubicación de las ranuras 40, 42, 44 y 46 dependerá de diversos factores que incluyen condiciones del suelo y la cantidad anticipada de fuerza que se aplicará a un poste 30 de soporte desprendible durante un impacto ante el riel con baranda 22 de protección y durante un impacto de frente con un extremo de baranda 22 de protección. Para la realización mostrada en las FIGURAS 1, 2 y 3, las ranuras 40, 42, 44 y 46 se forman en postes 30 desprendibles en una ubicación que corresponde aproximadamente a la línea a tierra anticipada cuando el poste 30 de soporte desprendible se instala en forma apropiada adyacente a la carretera asociada.
Para una aplicación, el cuerpo 32 alargado se puede formar de una viga con forma de l de acero estándar con bridas 36 y 38 que tienen un ancho nominal de cuatro (4") pulgadas y el alma 34 que tiene un ancho nominal de seis (6") pulgadas. Las ranuras 40, 42, 44 y 46 tienen una configuración ovoide generalmente alargada que tiene aproximadamente seis (6") pulgadas de longitud y un cuarto (1/4") de pulgada de ancho. Las ranuras 40, 42, 44, y 46 se posicionan en extremos 31 y 33 intermedios para provocar deformación local del poste 30 desprendible asociado cuando se instala apropiadamente.
Para las realizaciones mostradas en las FIGURAS 1 y 2, el bloque 48 se dispone entre el poste 30 de soporte desprendible y la baranda 22 de protección. El bloque 48 algunas veces se puede denominar como un "bloqueo". Para otras aplicaciones, la baranda 22 de protección se puede montar directamente adyacente al extremo 31 del poste 30 de soporte desprendible. Durante un impacto de frente al riel entre un vehículo y la baranda 22 de protección hacia abajo del tratamiento de extremo asociado, el bloque 48 proporciona un desplazamiento lateral entre el poste 30 de soporte desprendible y la baranda 22 de protección. Se selecciona la distancia y dirección del desplazamiento lateral para evitar que las ruedas (no mostradas) de un vehículo que impacta golpeen el poste 30 de soporte desprendible durante el impacto de frente al riel.
Para la realización mostrada en las FIGURAS 1, 2 y 3, el poste 30 de soporte desprendible incluye placas 52 y 54 de suelo que se unen a la parte externa de bridas 36 y 38 respectivas adyacentes a la parte de poste 30 de soporte desprendible que se insertarán en el suelo adyacente a la carretera asociada. Para esta realización, las placas 52 y 54 de suelo tienen aproximadamente el mismo grosor que el alma 34 y se alinean generalmente con el alma 34 en lados opuestos de las bridas 36 y 38 respectivas.
