Abstract

Mobile strapping machine, for horizontal and vertical strapping of boxes on pallets or loading platforms, comprising a mobile carriage consisting of a frame supported by rotating wheels; a column fixed to the frame; a coil coupled to the column in which a strip of plastic material is wound; and a strapping head coupled to the column with vertical displacement capability in both directions, adapted to perform the supply, tensioning, welding and cutting of strapping in each strapping operation, characterized in that the strapping head is provided with means of rotation that allow the rotation of the strapping head in both directions between two stable positions located relative to each other at 90 °; and because it comprises a strapping arm arranged below the carriage frame and capable of extending substantially horizontally and so that, in vertical strapping operations, it is arranged between pallet supports or loading platform, with the outer end protruding from the side of the pallet or loading platform opposite the one facing the strapping head.

Technical sector of the invention

The object of the invention is a machine mobile strapping machine, for horizontal and vertical box strapping on pallets or loading platforms.

Background of the invention

Currently, there are multiple realizations of machines for strapping boxes on pallets or platforms, that is, machines for holding boxes on pallets or loading platforms by means of strapping and so that said boxes they are in solidarity with the pallet or loading platform, enabling in this way the transport of the set thus formed.

Machine realizations are known static strapping machines for horizontal strapping as well as machines, also static, for vertical strapping, in which sets of boxes and pallets or boxes and loading platforms are transported to the machine and positioned for strapping. They are also known embodiments of mobile strapping machines for horizontal strapping operations, and mobile machines for vertical strapping, in which the strapping machine is transported to the place where the set of boxes and pallet is located or loading platform, the strapping machine positioning itself of said set for the strapping thereof.

US Patent 4,005,647 describes a machine static strapping machine for horizontal strapping, consisting of a base which is fixed a column that extends vertically and is provided with a car with vertical sliding capacity in both directions, an annular device being coupled to the car provided with a strapping head.

Utility Model ES 1 018 581 U describes a mobile strapping machine for horizontal strapping comprising a base and a column on which a unit is mounted strapping machine with vertical displacement capability in both Senses through a cable device.

The lack of a strapping machine is noted without arc, which allows both horizontal strapping and strapping vertical sets of boxes on pallets or loading platforms, that allows strapping in both directions without resorting to two different machines, one first for vertical strapping and one second for horizontal strapping.

Explanation of the invention.

The mobile strapping machine, for strapping horizontal and vertical boxes on pallets or loading platforms object of the invention comprises a mobile carriage constituted by a frame supported by rotating wheels; a column fixed to frame; a coil coupled to the column in which it is wound a strip of plastic material; and a strapping head coupled to the column with vertical displacement capability in both directions, adapted to perform the supply, tensioning, welding and cutting of strapping in each strapping operation.

The machine of the invention is characterized in that the strapping head is provided with turning means that allow the turning of the strapping head in both directions between two stable positions located relative to each other at 90º so that the supply of strapping by the strapping head can be performed horizontally during strapping operations horizontally or vertically during strapping operations vertical; and because it comprises a strapping arm arranged by under the carriage frame and with the ability to extend substantially horizontal and so that, in the operations of vertical strapping, is arranged between pallet supports or loading platform, with the outer end protruding from the side of the pallet or loading platform opposite the one facing the strapping head

It is also characteristic of the machine of the invention that the strapping head and the strapping arm are provided with respective and complementary means of guiding the strap supplied by the strapping head.

According to another characteristic of the machine of the invention, the strap guiding means of the strapping head and the strap guide means of the strap arm are adapted so that when the strapping arm is extended to vertical strapping, establish a strap guide that without solution continuity extends from the strapping head to the outer end of the strapping arm.

According to another feature of the invention, the strap guiding means of the strapping head they comprise a tubular element open at its ends, adapted to allow passage through the strap supplied by the guiding head and laterally provided with a longitudinal closure practicable, born at the outlet end of the tubular element and is adapted to allow passage through said strap during tensioning.

Detailed description of the drawings

In the figures on the drawing sheets, appreciate that the mobile strapping machine of the invention, which as exemplary embodiment is described, comprises a mobile carriage 1 consisting of a frame 2 that is supported by four rotating wheels 3, a column being fixed to the frame 2 vertical 4 to which a coil 5 is coupled, shown by dashed lines in Figs. 3 and 4, where it is rolled a strap, not represented, of plastic material, as per propylene example, and a strapping head 6 of known technology, provided with means for receiving strapping from the coil 5, of a strip supply means during the strapping operations, tensioning means of the strapping supplied, of welding means and cutting means of strapping

The strapping head 6 has the capacity to vertical displacement in both directions, indicated as A and B, all adapted so that an operator can move manually the strapping head 6 placing it at a height convenient with respect to the ground and with minimal effort; it is understood that these means of displacement of the strapping head 6 are given by way of example and that the head can be displaced by any other means, such as by means of a electric motor

The coupling of the strapping head 6 to the vertical column 4 is carried out through turning means 8, schematically represented in Figs. 3 and 4, which allow turning the strapping head 6 in both directions, indicated as C and D in Figs. 1 and 2, between two positions located one with respect to the other at 90º. The position shown in Fig. 1 corresponds to the of horizontal strip supply, and the position shown in the Figs. 2, 3 and 4 corresponds to the vertical supply down of strapping The turning means 8 are adapted so that during strapping operations strapping head 6 maintains shape stable the corresponding strap supply position.

The strapping head 6 is provided with strap guiding means comprising a tubular element 9 open at its ends, adapted to allow passage through of the strap supplied by strapping head 6, provided frontally of a practicable closure 10 with origin at the end of exit, adapted to allow the passage of strap through during tensioning.

In Fig. 3 it can be seen that below the frame 2 of the mobile carriage 1 is a strapping arm 11 With ability to extend horizontally. In Fig. 3, the strapping arm 11 is not extended, in correspondence with the horizontal strapping operations of the strapping machine the invention, while in Fig. 4 the strapping arm 11 is is extended, in correspondence with the operations of vertical strapping of the strapping machine of the invention. Arm strapping 11 is provided with regulating means 15, represented in Figs. 1 and 2, which allow to regulate the distance existing between the strapping arm 11 and the floor.

The strapping arm 11 is provided with strap guiding means comprising a tubular element 12, shown in Fig. 4, open at its ends, adapted to allow the passage of strapping through it and provided on its upper face of a practicable closure 13 originating at the outlet end, adapted to allow the passage of strapping through it during the tensioned furthermore, the inner end of the tubular element 12 is provided with a tubular guide bend 14, represented in the Fig. 4, adapted to allow passage through strapping.

In Figs. 3 and 4 it is appreciated that frame 2 of the strapping machine of the invention is provided with a cabinet 16 intended to contain one or more batteries, for supply of electric power to automatic operating means of the strapping head 6 and strapping arm 11 and a means of operation control, such as a logical control programmable.

The operation of the object strapping machine of the invention is described below.

During horizontal strapping operations, the strapping head 6 is arranged in the position shown in the Fig. 1, in which the tubular element 9 of the guiding means of strap is arranged horizontally; under these conditions, the strapping head 6 can be slid in both directions A and B adapting its height from the ground to the needs that raise the strapping of boxes to the pallet or platform.

During vertical strapping operations, the strapping head 6 is rotated by an angle of 90º being in the position shown in Figs. 2, 3 and 4, in which the element tubular 9 of the strap guide means is arranged vertically, and the strapping arm 11 is extended whose tubular element 12 is arranged externally as represented in Fig. 4, with its outer end protruding from the side of the pallet or loading platform opposite the one facing the strapping head, noting that the tubular element 9 of the strapping head 6, tubular bending 14 at the end inside the tubular element 12 of the strapping arm 11 and the tubular element 12 of the strapping arm 11 establish a guide for strap that without continuity solution extends between the head strapping 6 and the outer end of the tubular element 12 of the strapping arm 11. With this arrangement, the strap supplied by the strapping head 6 reaches the outer end of the element tubular 13 of the strapping arm 11, that is, protruding from the side of the pallet or loading platform opposite to the one facing the head of strapping 6, thus enabling vertical strapping of the set consisting of said boxes and pallet or platform load.

Claims (9)

1. Mobile strapping machine, for horizontal and vertical strapping of boxes on pallets or loading platforms, comprising a mobile carriage (1) consisting of a frame (2) supported by rotating wheels (3); a column (4) fixed to the frame (2); a coil (5) coupled to the column (4) in which a strip of plastic material is wound; and a strapping head (6) coupled to the column (4) with vertical displacement capability in both directions, adapted to perform the supply, tensioning, welding and cutting of strapping in each strapping operation, characterized in that the head of strapping (6) is provided with turning means (8) that allow the turning of the strapping head (6) in both directions between two stable positions located relative to each other at 90 ° so that the supply of strapping by the head strapping (6) can be performed horizontally during horizontal strapping operations or vertically during vertical strapping operations; and because it comprises a strapping arm (11) arranged below the frame (2) of the carriage (1) and capable of extending substantially horizontally and so that, in vertical strapping operations, it is arranged between pallet or platform supports of load, with the outer end protruding from the side of the pallet or loading platform opposite to the one facing the strapping head (6).
2. Mobile strapping machine according to claim 1, characterized in that the strapping head (6) and the strapping arm (11) are provided with respective and complementary means for guiding the strapping provided by the strapping head (6).

Strapping machine according to claims 1 and 2, characterized in that the strapping means of the strapping head (6) and the strapping means of the strapping arm (II) are adapted so that, when the strapping arm (11) is extended for vertical strapping, they establish a strap guide that without continuity solution extends from the strapping head (6) to the
outer end of the strapping arm (11).

Mobile strapping machine according to claim 2, characterized in that the strap guiding means of the strapping head (6) comprise a tubular element (9) open at its ends, adapted to allow passage through the supplied strap by the guide head (6) and laterally provided with a practicable longitudinal closure, which is born at the outlet end of the tubular element (9) and is adapted to allow passage through said strap during tensioning.

Mobile strapping machine according to claims 2 and 3, characterized in that the strap guiding means of the strapping arm (11) comprise a tubular element (12) open at its ends, adapted to allow passage through it. strap coming from the strap guiding means of the strapping head (6), and laterally provided with a longitudinal closure, practicable with origin at the outlet end of the tubular element and adapted to allow passage through said strap during the tense
6. Mobile strapping machine according to claim 5, characterized in that the inner end of the tubular element (12) of the strapping arm (11) is provided with a tubular guide bending (14), adapted for receiving and guiding the strapping from the guiding means of the strapping head (6).
7. Mobile strapping machine according to claim 1, characterized in that the strapping arm is provided with adjustment means (15) adapted for regulating the distance of the strapping arm (11) from the ground.
8. Mobile strapping machine according to claim 1, characterized in that it comprises means for controlling the automatic operation of the strapping head (6) and the strapping arm (11).
9. Mobile strapping machine according to claim 1, characterized in that the frame (2) is provided with a cabinet (16) adapted to accommodate one or more batteries, for power supply.
