Abstract
Animales transgenicos para la determinación de agentes que estimulan o reprimen la hiperproliferación epidérmica y el crecimiento del pelo. Un animal transgénico, vertebrado y no humano cuyas células, tanto somáticas como germinales, contengan una construcción genética recombinante compuesta por un gen marcador y una región reguladora capaz de inducirse en la epidermis de dicho animal transgénico en respuesta a estímulos hiperproliferativos, cuya construcción genética ha sido introducida en el animal, o en un antecesor del animal, en una etapa embriónica. La construcción genética se induce también en el bulbo del pelo en la fase de crecimiento activo o anagen. La citada construcción genética consta de un gen marcador, caracterizado por ser fácilmente detectable, bajo el control de la región reguladora del gen de la queratina K6, caracterizada esta proteína por su capacidad de ser inducida en las capas suprabasales de la epidermis en respuesta a estímulos hiperproliferativos tanto endógenos(tumores, cicatrización de heridas, enfermedades que, como psoriasis, producen la hiperproliferación, etc...) como exógenos (tratamientos tópicos con ácido retinoico, TPA, etc..). Por lo tanto, animales transgénicos portadores de esta construcción genética en su genoma son útiles en la identificación de agentes físicos, químicos o biológicos que conduzcan a hiperproliferación epidérmica y crecimiento del pelo, o inhiban estos procesos.
