Abstract

Improvements in the femoral stem and cotyloid cavity assemblies of total hip prostheses, which involve using implantable titanium alloy TA6V4 ELI in the different components of the total hip prosthesis, as well as the use of prostheses without cement, coating the surface which comes into contact with the bone with ceramics or an osteoconductor, the uncemented cotyloid cavity being morphologically adapted in such a way that it respects the "ogival" shape of the human cotyloid cavity, and using a metal-ceramic friction pair, obtained by "plasma torch" projection.
