Abstract

Electronic detector of drip interruption in the drip counting chambers of infusion equipment. It is a small electronic device which is fitted to the drip counting chambers of hospital infusion equipment and which, using the dripping of this equipment, electronically detects drip interruption. When this occurs the device emits an acoustic and/or light signal which alerts the staff in attendance and even the patient him/herself - in cases where he/she has fallen asleep with the elbow bent, thus preventing administration of the drug. The device also displays the drops/minute which are administered, thus making it easier for the doctor's instructions to be adjusted in accordance with the volume administered.
