Abstract
The device for fixing the graduated band or scale 4 on an optical rule, in which the support and housing 5 of the band and of the optical reading means is a tubular profile 6 in extruded aluminium, allows the thermal expansion of the profile 6 without affecting the steel band 4, and comprises two securing pieces 2 for the ends of the band 4, which are fastened to the machine by means of screws 15 independent of the extruded profile 6 and they are inserted in a recess 9, 9' of each end of the profile 6 provided with a through hole 17. It also comprises a sealing ring 11 on each one of the two securing pieces and an elastic gasket 12 which absorbs the expansion of the aluminium profile 6. The securing piece 3 of the end where the tensioning device 8 of the band 4 is located has the shape of a square and is traversed by the tensioning device 8.
