Abstract
Wool dyeing procedure using liposomes as dispersant vehicle. It refers to the use of multilamellar liposomes as vehicles for dispersed dyes such as C.I.. Disperse Violet 1 A and C.I.. Disperse Orange 1 B in the dyeing of the wool. In addition it comprises kinetic aspects related to the adsorption and fixing of the dye by means of multilamellar liposomes at different concentrations both of phospholipid and dye on samples of untreated or previously chlorinated wool. This process leads to controlled exhaustion of the dye onto the wool, directly related to the relative proportion of both components in the liposomes. The optimum exhaustion of the dye is obtained for proportions by weight of dye/liposome of 0.25 and 0.29 for dyes A and B. The total quantities of dye attached to the wool fibres follow a similar tendency to that observed in the exhaustion process. Nevertheless, the samples of chlorinated wool show a slight decrease in the total quantity of dye fixed as the cisteinic acid content of the wool increases.
