Abstract

The system is designed to trigger the switch of a high voltage machine, apparatus or equipment, when an overload and/or failure (short circuit) occurs. Basically, it includes toroidal supply and measurement detectors 2, with their corresponding supply unit, an electronic device or relay 3 with an electromagnetic trigger 4. The detectors 2 are constituted by a dual magnetic circuit, each magnetic circuit being defined by a ring with its corresponding coil, both being independent but inserted within the same resin core. The dual magnetic circuit is provided in order to obtain by means of the detector itself a means capable of effecting the supply to the relay and for the current measuring connection. The supply unit 11 is designed to add the energy provided by the supply detectors 2, it being capable of operating with one, two or three detectors. The system is complemented in addition by a phase matching and filtering unit 12, with an energy accumulation unit 13 for the trigger, a trigger unit in accordance with curve 16, it being possible to complement it with other units, such as a homopolar adapting and filtering unit 15, and other trigger units 17, 18 and 19, in accordance with different curves, for phases and earth. <IMAGE>
