Description

  • The present invention relates to a module for a partition wall.
  • To separate enclosed spaces in open-space offices, nowadays the use is widespread of walls comprised of sheets of transparent material or opaque panels, in particular double-sheet or double-panel.
  • Walls comprised of slabs of transparent material can moreover be provided with a roll-up shade to be unrolled downward from above, inside the gap between the two slabs.
  • Sometimes structures of this type are also used in external windows. Such structures do not require invasive masonry work, and they allow light to be admitted by rolling up the shade.
  • Structurally, they generally comprise one or more lower profiles for supporting and positioning the lower edge of the plate-like bodies, substantially parallel and spaced apart from each other, and one or more upper profiles for positioning and locking in place the upper edge of the plate-like bodies.
  • At the upper profiles, there can be a roller, around which the canvas of the shade is wound, which in turn can be visible or concealed in a special housing provided inside the upper profile, such as for example described in EP3480411 .
  • If the plate-like bodies are panels of opaque material, then the housing for the roller may not be present, or it may be present but kept empty, in order to maintain a uniform appearance with the solutions with a roller installed.
  • Although these solutions are widespread, they still have aspects that show room for improvement considering that, although operations to inspect and maintain the elements of the wall are simplified, in that they do not require the large-scale disassembly of the numerous components of the wall, the same cannot be said for the steps of mounting the wall.
  • In fact, in the current state of the art, the installation of each partition wall requires several steps to be carried out on-site, to assemble the perimetric supporting structure, the box for housing and supporting the integrated shade and the roller for the shade, with corresponding movement mechanisms, if present.
  • Only then, after having pre-assembled and firmly fixed this structure to the walls, is it possible to apply the remaining slabs of transparent material or opaque panels to close the partition wall.
  • The complexity of the operations around mounting described above evidently requires considerable time, increasing the inconvenience caused to the customer during installation of the walls.
  • Furthermore, in conventional walls comprising sheets of transparent material which are fitted with an inner shade, it has been observed that it is never possible to obtain the full screening of the room delimited by the wall, by virtue of gaps present owing to the imperfect correspondence between the bottom and side edges of the shade with the inner walls of the bottom and lateral profiles, or with an additional shade, if there are multiple shades arranged side by side.
  • Furthermore, these gaps, in more sensitive contexts, such as for example medical contexts, can also entail problems of privacy and confidentiality, as they allow observation of what is taking place behind the wall.
  • The aim of the present invention is to provide a module for a partition wall, which is capable of improving the known art in one or more of the above mentioned aspects.
  • Within this aim, an object of the invention is to simplify the operations of mounting a partition wall, whether it is comprised of sheets of transparent material or opaque panels.
  • Another object of the invention is to ensure the total screening and privacy of the room delimited by the wall.
  • Another object of the invention is to overcome the drawbacks of the known art in a manner different from any existing solutions.
  • Another object of the invention is to provide a module for a partition wall that is highly reliable, easy to implement and low cost.
  • This aim and these and other objects which will become more apparent hereinafter are achieved by a module for a partition wall according to claim 1, optionally provided with one or more of the characteristics of the dependent claims.
  • Moreover, this aim and these and other objects which will become more apparent hereinafter are achieved by a partition wall according to claim 9, optionally provided with one or more of the characteristics of the dependent claims.
  • Further characteristics and advantages of the invention will become more apparent from the detailed description of a preferred, but not exclusive, embodiment of the module according to the invention, which is illustrated for the purposes of non-limiting example in the accompanying drawings wherein:

    • Figure 11 is a perspective view of an example of application of a wall assembled using different embodiments of the module according to the invention.
  • With reference to Figures 1 to 10, the module according to the invention, generally designated by the reference numeral 1, 1" and 1‴, comprises a first frame 2 which comprises a first upper element 2a and a first lower element 2b, which are opposite and oriented parallel to each other along a first direction 3.
  • More specifically, the qualifiers "upper" and "lower" cited in the text refer to the state of use of the module and indicate, between two elements, respectively the element distal from the ground and the element proximal to the ground.
  • Furthermore, the first frame 2 comprises two first lateral elements 2c, which are opposite and oriented parallel to each other along a second direction 4, which is perpendicular to the first direction 3.
  • More specifically, such first lateral elements 2c are interposed between the end portions of the first upper element 2a and of the first lower element 2b.
  • Conveniently, the first elements 2a, 2b and 2c are integrally associated with each other to form a border that delimits a first quadrangular opening 5.
  • "Quadrangular" means a flat shape delimited by four sides, such as for example a square, a rectangle, a trapezoid, a rhombus, or the like.
  • Moreover, the invention comprises a second frame 6 which comprises a second upper element 6a and a second lower element 6b, which are opposite and oriented parallel to each other along the first direction 3, and two second lateral elements 6c, which are opposite and oriented parallel to each other along the second direction 4, which is perpendicular to the first direction 3.
  • More specifically, such second lateral elements 6c are interposed between the end portions of the second upper element 6a and of the second lower element 6b.
  • Conveniently, the second elements 6a, 6b and 6c are integrally associated with each other to form a border that delimits a second quadrangular opening 7.
  • Moreover, the invention comprises a first plate-like body 8 or 8' for closing the first opening 5, integrally associated in a perimetric portion thereof with the first frame 2.
  • There is also a second plate-like body 9 or 9' for closing the second opening 7, integrally associated in a perimetric portion thereof with the second frame 6.
  • With particular reference to Figures 8 and 9, such perimetric association can, for example, be obtained by inserting the plate-like body 8 into adapted seats provided on the first upper element 2a, on the first lower element 2b and on the first lateral elements 2c, and by inserting the plate-like body 9 into adapted seats provided on the second upper element 6a, on the second upper element 6b and on the second lateral elements 6c.
  • With particular reference to Figure 10, such perimetric association can also be obtained by using the structure of the plate-like body 8' itself as the first frame 2 and the structure of the plate-like body 9' itself as the second frame 6.
  • Particularly, the invention comprises two opposite posts 10 which extend parallel to each other, predominantly along the second direction.
  • Advantageously, the first frame 2 and the second frame 6 are detachably associated with the posts 10, at the lateral elements 2c and 6c, by way of engagement means 11.
  • In this way, the posts 10 are interposed between the first frame 2 and the second frame 6, which are opposite and parallel to each other.
  • Conveniently, there is at least one transverse profiled element 12, which extends mainly along the first direction 3 and is at least partially interposed between the posts 10.
  • Advantageously, the transverse profiled element 12 is provided with means of association, which in and of themselves are known and therefore are not described or illustrated here, for selectively associating it with one or more of a subframe, a masonry wall of a building, a floor, a ceiling, and another module 1, 1', 1" or 1‴.
  • With particular reference to the embodiment shown in Figures 1 to 10, there are two transverse profiled elements 12, which are associated with the posts 10, arranged opposite each other: one at the first upper element 2a and at the second upper element 6a, the other at the first lower element 2b and at the second lower element 6b.
  • Conveniently, these means of association can be of the temporary or permanent type, and they can also integrally connect at least one of the posts 10 to at least one masonry element, which can be a side wall, but also a floor slab, or a subframe, as can happen in the case of a door frame, or to an additional module 1, 1', 1", 1‴, in order to create a wall of larger dimensions than a single module.
  • With particular reference to Figure 6, such engagement means 11 comprise one or more contoured plates 13, which extend mainly along the second direction 4 and along a third direction 14, which is perpendicular to the first direction 3 and to the second direction 4.
  • Such contoured plates 13 are integrally associated with the first frame 2 and with the second frame 6, respectively, at the first lateral elements 2c and at the second lateral elements 6c.
  • Furthermore, such contoured plates 13 are selectively engaged in slots 15, arranged along the second direction 4, which are provided in the posts 10 at least at its faces that are perpendicular to the third direction 14.
  • Advantageously, each one of the contoured plates 13 has at least one hook 16, extending predominantly along the third direction 14 and comprising a tooth 17, extending along the second direction 4 towards either the first lower element 2b or the second lower element 6b.
  • In other words, the hook 16 extends perpendicularly with respect to the main extension of the first frame 2 and of the second frame 6, with a substantially L-shaped, or arc-like, profile with the concavity directed toward the first lower element 2b or the second lower element 6b.
  • With particular reference to Figure 5, each of the slots 15 has a first dimension, along the first direction 3, which is greater than or equal to the thickness of the hook 16, a second dimension, along the second direction 4, which is greater than or equal to the height of the hook 16 and a third dimension, along the third direction 14, which is greater than or equal to the protrusion of the hook 16.
  • The expression "thickness of the hook" means, in the present description, the maximum extent of the hook 16 along the first direction 3.
  • The expression "height of the hook" means, in the present description, the maximum extent of the hook 16 along the second direction 4.
  • The expression "protrusion of the hook" means, in the present description, the maximum extent of the hook 16 along the third direction 14.
  • Conveniently, each one of the slots 15 has a locator edge 15a, which comprises a lip 15b, which extends along the second direction 4 towards the first upper element 2a and the second upper element 6a, and is complementary to the tooth 17, and is intended to be engaged by the tooth 17 for the coupling of the first frame 2 and of the second frame 6 to the posts 10.
  • In this manner, the hook 16, inserted into the slot 15 with a translation 29 along the third direction 14, can slide therein, with a translation 30 along the second direction 4, toward the lower elements 2b and 6b, so engaging the tooth 17 with the lip 15b, in so doing blocking the translation 29.
  • Conveniently, each hook 16 corresponds to at least one of the slots 15 so as to be able to associate, for each of the first frame 2 and the second frame 6, the corresponding plates 13 with the posts 10 by inserting each hook 16 simultaneously into the respective slots 15.
  • In more detail, such slots 15 are shaped and arranged on the posts 10 so as to be able to allow the translation 30 of the first frame 2 and of the second frame 6 with respect to the posts 10 when each hook 16 is completely inserted in the corresponding slot 15, in order to enable the engagement of the tooth 17 with the lip 15b.
  • In this manner it is possible to reversibly couple either or both of the first frame 2 and the second frame 6 to the posts 10.
  • Furthermore, the posts 10 and the contoured plates 13 can be associated with each other by way of additional fixing means, in and of themselves known and therefore not described or illustrated, in order to integrally couple such posts 10 to either or both of the first frame 2 and the second frame 6.
  • With particular reference to the embodiment shown in Figures 1 to 3 and in Figure 9, the invention comprises a roller 18 for a shade 19, which is rotatably associated with the first upper element 2a by virtue of supporting means 20, which are integrally associated with the first upper element 2a, and means for actuating the roller 18, of manual or electric type, in and of themselves known and therefore not described or illustrated.
  • More specifically, the supporting means 20 can comprise at least one roller holder 21 at each end of the roller 18, which is integrally associated with the first upper element 2a by way of either or both of interlocking means and engagement means, in and of themselves known and therefore not described or illustrated.
  • Advantageously, the first upper element 2a and the second upper element 6a each delimit substantially half of the receptacle 22 for accommodating the roller 18.
  • Conveniently, the first upper element 2a and the second upper element 6a each comprise respectively a first lower portion 23 and a second lower portion 24, which are spaced apart from each other in such a way as to allow the translation of the shade 19 along the second direction 4.
  • With particular reference to the embodiment proposed in Figure 8, the module 1‴ comprises either or both of a first lateral profile cover 25c, which is associated with an element chosen from the first lateral elements 2c, and a second lateral profile cover 26c, which is associated with an element chosen from the second lateral elements 6c.
  • Advantageously, each first lateral profile cover 25c extends along the first direction 3 from one of the first lateral elements 2c towards the opposite one of the first lateral elements 2c for an extension greater than or equal to the distance comprised between a lateral edge 19c of the shade 19 and the corresponding one of the first lateral elements 2c.
  • Moreover, each second lateral profile cover 26c extends along the first direction 3 from one of the second lateral elements 6c towards the opposite one of the second lateral elements 6c for an extension greater than or equal to the distance comprised between a lateral edge 19c of the shade 19 and the corresponding one of the second lateral elements 6c.
  • With particular reference to the embodiment proposed in Figure 7, the module 1‴ comprises either or both of a first lower profile cover 25b, associated with the first lower element 2b, and a second lower profile cover 26b, associated with the second lower element 6b.
  • Advantageously, the first lower profile cover 25b extends along the second direction 4 from the first lower element 2b towards the first upper element 2a for an extension greater than or equal to the distance comprised between the lower edge 19b of the shade 19 in its position of minimum distance from the lower element 2b and the lower element 2b proper.
  • Moreover, the second lower profile cover 26b extends along the second direction 4 from the second lower element 6b towards the second upper element 6a for an extension greater than or equal to the distance comprised between the lower edge 19b of the shade 19 in its position of minimum distance from the lower element 6b and the lower element 6b proper.
  • In other words, the function of each first lateral profile cover 25c, extending from one of the first lateral elements 2c, is to conceal from view the lateral gaps that can be created as a result of the play present between one of the first lateral elements 2c and the closer of the lateral edges 19c of the shade 19.
  • In the same way, the function of each second lateral profile cover 26c, extending from one of the second lateral elements 6c, is to conceal from view the lateral gaps that can be created as a result of the play present between one of the second lateral elements 6c and the closer of the lateral edges 19c of the shade 19.
  • Furthermore, the function of the first lower profile cover 25b, which can be associated with the first lower element 2b, is to conceal from view the lower gaps that are created as a result of the play present between the lower edge 19b of the shade 19 and the first lower element 2b, in the position of maximum unreeling of the shade 19 from the roller 18.
  • In addition, the function of the second lower profile cover 26b, which can be associated with the second lower element 6b, is to conceal from view the lower gaps that are created as a result of the play present between the lower edge 19b of the shade 19 and the second lower element 6b, in the position of maximum unreeling of the shade 19 from the roller 18.
  • In this manner it is possible to obtain the total cover of the first opening 5 and of the second opening 7, with the shade 19 completely lowered.
  • Advantageously, the first frame 2 and the second frame 6 can be identical and interchangeable.
  • Conveniently, with particular reference to the embodiment proposed in Figures 1 to 9, such first upper element 2a, first lower element 2b, first lateral elements 2c, second upper element 6a, second lower element 6b and second lateral elements 6c can be profiled elements.
  • Moreover, with particular reference to the embodiment proposed in Figure 10, the first plate-like body 8' can be monolithic with the first frame 2 and the second plate-like body 9' can be monolithic with the second frame 6.
  • The invention thus described can be used in a partition wall 27 as shown in Figure 11, such partition wall 27 comprising at least one module 1, 1' or 1".
  • With particular reference to the embodiment proposed in Figure 11, such at least one module 1, 1' or 1" comprises at least one copy of the module 1 and 1' in which the first plate-like body 8 and the second plate-like body 9 are made of glass and at least one copy of the module 1" in which the first plate-like body 8' and the second plate-like body 9' are made of opaque material.
  • Furthermore, on such modules 1, 1', 1", 1‴ a perimetric border 28 can be applied, which comprises transverse edgings 28a, 28b and 28e, which can be associated with each transverse profiled element 12, and vertical edgings 28c and 28d, which can be associated with each of the posts 10 in order to cover them.
  • The operation of the module 1, 1', 1" and 1‴ for a partition wall 27 is the following.
  • The module 1, 1', 1" and 1‴ is partially pre-assembled at the factory by producing the first frame 2 and associating it with the first plate-like body 8 or 8', and separately producing the second frame 6, associating it with the corresponding second plate-like body 9 or 9'.
  • If present, in this step the first frame is also associated with the shade 19, with the corresponding roller 18 fitted with its own supporting means 20 and actuation means.
  • In more detail, each first lateral profile cover 25c, if present, is also associated in this step with either or both of the first lateral elements 2c of the first frame 2 and each second lateral profile cover 26c, if present, is associated in this step with either or both of the second lateral elements 6c of the second frame 6, if such first lateral profile cover 25c and second lateral profile cover 26c have not already been integrated in a single piece with the corresponding first lateral elements 2c or second lateral elements 6c.
  • In the same way, the first lower profile cover 25b, if present, is also integrally associated in this step with the first lower element 2b of the first frame 2 and the second lower profile cover 26b, if present, is associated in this step with the second lower element 6b of the second frame 6, if such first lower profile cover 25b and second lower profile cover 26b have not already been integrated in a single piece with the respective first lower element 2b and second lower element 6b.
  • Moreover, the first frame 2 thus completed is associated with the posts 10 by way of the engagement means 11, i.e. with the insertion of each hook 16 into the respective slot 15 and the translation 30 of the first frame 2, in order to engage each tooth 17 with the respective lip 15b.
  • At the time of installation, it is only necessary to fix the posts 10, with the corresponding first frame 2 already integrally associated with them, to a wall, a floor, a ceiling or to another module, completing the module 1, 1', 1" and 1‴ simply by fixing the second frame 6 to the posts 10 by way of the engagement means 11 as previously described.
In practice it has been found that the invention fully achieves the intended aim and objects by providing a module for a partition wall that simplifies the operations of mounting a partition wall, so improving the prior art in an alternative and innovative manner.
  • An advantage of the invention consists in that it allows the pre-assembly of the two frames, including if desired the shade with its mechanisms and its wiring if present, before installation on site by the customer, so considerably reducing the installation times of the walls, and as a consequence the inconvenience caused to the customer.
  • Furthermore, another advantage of the invention lies in its modular construction, which makes it possible to obtain countless combinations of sizes and finishes of each wall by virtue of the choice of suitable modules, which in turn can be at least partially pre-assembled prior to delivery.
  • Moreover, the extension of the single module, which, in the state of use, can be predominantly horizontal, vertical, or equivalent in two dimensions, makes it possible to associate modules of different sizes in order to obtain the desired aesthetic appearance.
  • Another advantage of the invention consists in that it allows, even in the absence of an inspection window, which could be aesthetically inappropriate, simple operations to inspect and maintain the roller, which can be executed by removing either or both of the first frame and the second frame, with the corresponding plate-like bodies, in a block.
  • Not least an advantage of the invention consists in that it ensures a total screening of visibility through the wall, with evident advantages also for privacy, by eliminating any play by means of suitable profiling of the inner walls of the frames.
  • The invention, thus conceived, is susceptible of numerous modifications and variations, all of which are within the scope of the appended claims. Moreover, all the details may be substituted by other, technically equivalent elements.
  • In practice, the materials used, as well as the contingent shapes and dimensions, may be any according to the requirements and to the state of the art.
  • The disclosures in Italian Patent Application No. 102025000002214 from which this application claims priority are incorporated herein by reference.
  • Where technical features mentioned in any claim are followed by reference signs, such reference signs have been inserted for the sole purpose of increasing the intelligibility of the claims and accordingly such reference signs do not have any limiting effect on the interpretation of each element identified by way of example by such reference signs.
