FIELD OF THE INVENTION
-
The present invention relates to the field of the production of devices for bathrooms. In particular, the present invention refers to a kit for installing a control assembly of a toilet flushing tank, where this tank can be selected from two or more possible types of toilet flushing tank. The invention also relates to a method of use of said kit.
BACKGROUND ART
-
As is known, different types of recessed toilet tanks which can be installed in the wall or on a panel exist. To operate a toilet flushing tank an outer control assembly is provided to allow operation of the flush of said tank. The control assembly is connected to a frame that is fixed to the outside of the body of the toilet flushing tank. The control assembly comprises an outer plate that is fixed to the frame and a guide unit that ensures correct movement of the push buttons provided on the outer plate. Typically, a pair of drive pins which operatively connect the toilet flushing tank to the control assembly are provided. Each control pin can be moved through one of the push buttons provided on the outer plate to cause a predetermined amount of water to be discharged from the toilet flushing tank, according to a widely known principle. Each model of toilet flushing tank establishes the position of the related drive pins, and of the connection screws used to fix the mounting frame to the toilet flushing tank. In the majority of cases, each control assembly is thus configured and dedicated to a specific type of toilet flushing tank. In this regard, the control assembly is thus provided together with the toilet flushing tank. Consequently, in relation to the control assembly, and in particular to the outer plate, the end user is limited to a single design and is in fact obliged to accept the shape and the materials (plastic, brass or other material) provided/supplied by the manufacturer of the toilet flushing tank.
-
The document
CN220058220 describes a control assembly compatible with more than one model of toilet flushing tank. This control assembly discloses the use of two guide elements, one for each of the drive pins, which are supported by the frame and positioned with respect thereto through a system of guides. More precisely, a pair of first guides is provided parallel to the long sides of the mounting frame, each close to a corresponding long side. Sliding on each of these first guides is a pair of slides, each of which in turn defines a pair of second guides parallel to the short sides of the mounting frame. One of the guide elements of the drive pins slides on each guide element. Overall, the two pairs of guides allow the guide elements to be arranged in the correct position to guide the drive pins, the position of which, as indicated above, is established by the toilet flushing tank. In this regard, the position of the two slides along the first guides and the position of the guide elements along the second guides are fixed by means of fixing screws.
-
The solution described and shown in
CN220058220 thus allows the position of the guide elements to be adapted to the specific model of toilet flushing tank, thus being compatible with different models. However, this solution has various drawbacks, the first of which regarding its complexity and the numerous components that define the mounting frame. In this regard, the use of screws to fix the position of the two slides and of the two adapters along the respective guides
(first and second) makes the solution somewhat impractical and decidedly unpopular with operators. In fact, not only is it difficult for an operator to fix the guide elements, but before that even to establish the correct operating position of these guide elements. In fact, an operator is obliged to establish this position manually and essentially by trial and error. This is done by moving the mounting frame and the guide elements until they are able to couple with the drive pins and until the frame is able to reach the correct position for connection with the tank.
-
As already indicated above, each model of toilet flushing tank also establishes the position of the screws used to fix the mounting frame to the body of the tank. In this regard, if on the one hand the solution described in
CN220058220 can be defined as compatible with different models of toilet flushing tank, on the other it requires all these models to have the same position for the screws connecting the mounting frame to the body of the toilet flushing tank. Therefore, the operating versatility of the solution in question is in any case limited to models falling within the same range, at least in terms of connection mode to the toilet flushing tank.
-
In light of the considerations indicated above, there is the need to provide new solutions that allow the drawbacks of the prior art solutions to be overcome, or in any case mitigated.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION
-
With reference to the aforesaid figures, the present invention thus relates to an installation kit 1 (hereinafter also kit 1) for installing a control assembly 100 of a toilet flushing tank, where the latter can be selected from a plurality of predetermined models. In practice, the kit 1 can be used for installing a control assembly on a model of toilet flushing tank included in a predetermined group of models of toilet flushing tank preferably, but not exclusively, already present on the market.
-
With reference to figures 1 to 3, for the purposes of the present invention, the term "control assembly" is meant as the assembly formed by an outer plate 21 in which two push buttons 21A, 21B are defined and by a guide unit 22 that ensures correct movement of the push buttons 21A, 21B. According to a known principle, following installation of the control assembly 100, a pressure exerted on one of the two push buttons 21A, 21B causes a movement of a related drive pin 5 (see figures 1 and 3 ) connected to the toilet flushing tank. This movement causes a predetermined amount of water contained in the tank to be discharged. The guide unit 22 is arranged on a rear face 205 of the plate 21 (see figures 2 and 3 ), which is not visible once installation has been completed. On the contrary, the front face 210 of the plate 21 remains visible, defining the aesthetic look of the plate. The guide unit 22 comprises a retaining wall 22A that extends from the rear face 205 of the plate 21 defining a space for movement of the push buttons (see figure 3 ). According to a known principle, a spring 22C that opposes the action taken on the push button is provided for each push button. This spring 22C allows the related push button 21A, 21B to return to neutral position (shown in figure 2 ).
-
In any case, the configuration of the outer plate 21 and of the guide unit 22 of the control assembly 100 are not relevant for the purposes of the present invention. In this regard, the kit 1 according to the invention allows the same control assembly 100 to be connected to a finite number of different models of toilet flushing tank, according to principles described below.
-
In general, the kit 1 according to the invention comprises a mounting frame 10 (or frame 10) connectable to the body of a toilet flushing tank. Preferably, the frame 10 is made of moulded plastic material. Figures 4 and 5 show a possible embodiment of a frame 10 comprising a first portion 11 (or frame-shaped portion 11) and a second portion 12 (or recessed portion 12) that projects with respect to said first portion 11. The outer plate 21 of the control assembly 100 is connected to the first portion 11, in particular at its rear surface 205. The second portion 12 of the frame 10 forms a housing space useful for positioning the guide unit 22.
-
Preferably, the first portion 11 extends as a rectangular frame around the second portion 12 so that said housing space is recessed with respect to the plane on which the first portion 11 extends. For the second portion 12, a perimeter part 121 is defined, extending on four sides consisting of two parallel pairs of sides. The second portion 12 further comprises a bottom part 122 (better visible in figure 5 ) delimited by the perimeter part 121.
-
The kit 1 according to the invention comprises a plurality of pins, in particular pairs of drive pins 5A, 5B, 5C, 5D, each characteristic of a specific model of toilet flushing tank. In other words, each pair of pins 5A, 5B, 5C, 5D can be selected from the kit 1 to operatively connect a control assembly 100 to a specific model of toilet flushing tank, which can be selected from said predetermined group of models. For each pair, the related pins 5A, 5B, 5C, 5D are thus destined to be operatively positioned in a predetermined position with respect to the frame 10, where this position is established by said specific model of toilet flushing tank. For example, in the embodiment of the kit 1 shown in figure 4, four pairs of pins 5A, 5B, 5C, 5D are provided. However, the number of the pairs of pins could be greater or smaller than 4 (providing it is greater than or equal to 2).
-
For each pair of pins 5A, 5B, 5C, 5D, each pin 5A, 5B, 5C, 5D comprises a stem 5' and a head 5" (indicated only for the pins 5A in figure 4 ) defined at one end of the stem 5', where the related push button 21A, 21B of the control assembly 100 is destined to act on said head 5" (as shown in figure 3 ). The structural configuration of the related pins (i.e. the combination of shape and length) will be established by said specific model of toilet flushing tank.
-
According to the invention, the mounting frame 10 comprises at least two reference openings 30A, 30B each for the passage of a drive pin 5A, 5B, 5C, 5D. In practice, once installation has been completed, for each pair of pins 5A, 5B, 5C, 5D one of the related pins will pass through the first opening 30A, while the other pin will pass through the second opening 30B. With reference to figures 4 and 4A, these reference openings 30A, 30B are defined through the second portion 12 of the frame 10, in particular through said bottom part 122.
-
According to the present invention, the kit 1 comprises a plurality of adapter bodies 40A, 40B each of which includes a guide 51A, 51B for a pin of one of said pairs of pins 5A, 5B, 5C, 5D. In use, said one pin 5A, 5B, 5C, 5D is supported and guided by said guide 51A, 51B. Therefore, for each adapter body 40A, 40B said guide 51A, 51B is configured as a function of the shape of the related pin 5A, 5B, 5C, 5D with which it is operatively associated.
-
According to the invention, each of the adapter bodies 40A, 40B can be connected to the frame 10 at one of the reference openings 30A, 30B according to at least one possible connection (or installation) mode that establishes a precise operating position for the related guide 51A, 51B with respect to the frame 10. This connection (or installation) mode is thus provided for a specific pin of at least one pair of pins 5A, 5B, 5C, 5D and hence for a specific model of toilet flushing tank.
-
More precisely, each adapter body 40A, 40B can be connected to the bottom part 122 of the second portion 12 of the frame 10 in front of one of the two reference openings 30A, 30B so that this latter is at least partially closed by said adapter body 40A, 40B. This condition is shown, for example, in figure 9. In particular, this figure shows two adapter bodies (indicated with the reference 40B) connected to the frame 10. By comparing figure 9 and figure 5, it can be observed how each adapter body 40A, 40B, following connection with the frame 10, substantially closes a related reference opening 30A, 30B, leaving only the passage defined by the related guide 51A, 51B open.
-
According to a preferred embodiment, at least one adapter body 40B can be connected to the frame 10 according to two or more possible connection modes. Each connection mode is thus characteristic of a specific model of toilet flushing tank. In this regard, the series of figures 8 to 10 and the series of figures 11 to 13 show two different connection modes of the same pair of adapter bodies 40B. By comparing these series of figures, it can be understood how when the connection mode varies, for each adapter body 40B, the position (in the case illustrated also the orientation) of the related guide 51B with respect to the mounting frame 10 also varies.
-
Each adapter body 40A, 40B is provided with connection elements 47A, 47B, preferably configured to produce a "snap-fit" connection with the frame 10 at the first reference opening 30A or at the second reference opening 30B. Even more preferably, as better indicated below, these connection elements 47A, 47B are defined by "hook-shaped" portions that allow snap-fit connection.
-
Each adapter body 40A, 40B is also provided with abutment elements 48A, 48B, 49A, 49B configured to engage with further abutment elements of the frame 10 to establish a correct connection/installation position of the adapter body 40A, 40B with respect to one of the reference openings 30A, 30B of the frame 10. In this regard, as better described below also with regard to figures 6, 6A, 7 and 7A, these abutment elements comprise recesses (references 49A, 49B) that can engage with teeth defined on the frame 10 and/or protruding ribs (48A, 48B) that can come into contact against edges of the reference opening 30A, 30B, correctly guiding the connection implemented through the connection elements 47A, 47B.
-
As a whole, for each adapter body 40A, 40B, the connection elements 47A-47B and the abutment elements 48A, 48B, 49A, 49B allow the related adapter body 40A, 40B to be correctly connected to/ installed on the frame 10 according to one or more connection/installation modes that can in any case be chosen based on the pair of pins 5A, 5B, 5C, 5D, in turn chosen based on the model of toilet flushing tank.
-
With reference once again to figures 5 and 5A, the reference openings 30A, 30B are defined through the bottom part 122 of the second portion 12 of the frame 10, preferably in a position close to one of the long sides of the perimeter part 121. The adapter bodies 40A,40B connect to the frame 10 so that they are adjacent to a first face F1 (shown in figure 5 ) of the bottom part 122 that remains inside the housing space defined by the second portion 12 of the frame 10. In the possible (and hence not exclusive) embodiment illustrated, each reference opening 30A, 30B of the frame 10 is at least partially in the shape of a rectangle in which it is possible to define two long perimeter edges 31A,31B and two short perimeter edges 32A, 32B.
-
Each connection element 47A-47B of the adapter bodies 40A, 40B is preferably configured for snap-fit connection with one of the perimeter edges 31A,31B or 32A, 32B of the reference openings 30A, 30B. However, the frame 10 can define other edges (different to those of the reference openings 30A, 30B) or surfaces to which the connection elements 47A-47B couple/connect. In this regard, in the embodiment shown in the figures, the frame 10 comprises a connection opening 35B defined in a position close to one of the short sides 32B of the second reference opening 30B. A connection element 47A of an adapter body 40A is positioned in this connection opening 35B, and couples with an edge of said connection opening 35B so as to connect the adapter body 30B to the frame 10.
-
With reference once again to figures 5 and 5A, in this possible embodiment thereof, the frame 10 defines a further guide 51C for a pin of one of the pairs of pins 5A, 5B, 5C, 5D. In particular, said further guide 51C is preferably defined in a position adjacent to one of the two reference openings 30A, 30B 10. In the embodiment shown in the figures, a part 33B of the second reference opening 30B is shaped extending laterally from one of the long sides 32A of said reference opening 30B. Said further guide 51C is defined by an edge projecting from said first face F1 of the bottom part 122 around the part 33B of the second opening 30B. This edge is configured to guide a pin of one of the pairs of pins 5A, 5B, 5C, 5D.
-
Therefore, with reference to the series of figures 17 to 19, for at least one of the pairs of pins 5A, 5B, 5C, 5D, one of the pins (indicated with 5D) will be guided by the guide 51A defined on an adapter body 40A connected to the frame 10 at the first opening 30A, while the other pin will be guided by the further guide 15C defined by the frame 10 in a position close to the second opening 30B.
-
In the embodiment shown in the figures, the kit 1 comprises a first pair of adapter bodies 40A (hereinafter also indicated as first adapter bodies 40A), having the same configuration, and a second pair of adapter bodies 40B (hereinafter also second adapter bodies 40B) also having the same configuration, different to that of the first adapters 40A. Figures 6 and 6A show in detail the configuration of the first adapter bodies 40A, while figures 7 and 7A show in detail the configuration of the second adapter bodies 40B.
-
With reference to figures 6 and 6A, each of the first adapter bodies 40A has a plate-shaped part 41A having a substantially rectangular configuration in which a first face 42A and a second face 43A are defined, opposite each other. Each of the first adapter bodies 40A comprises an opening 50A extending between the two faces 42A, 43A and having a configuration substantially in the shape of an ellipse open at a long perimeter edge 411A of the plate-shaped part 41A. Each of the first adapter bodies 40A comprises an edge 52A projecting from the first face 42A (preferably according to a direction orthogonal to the first face 42A) and extending in conformity with the opening 50A. The guide 51A of the adapter body 40A is defined by the surface 55A delimiting the opening 50A and/or by the inner surface 56A from said edge 52A projecting from the first face 41A. In use, a corresponding drive pin rests, at least in part, on one or both said surfaces 55A, 56A defining the guide 51A.
-
For each of the first adapter bodies 40A, the abutment means comprise an engagement rib 48A projecting from the second face 43A. This engagement rib 48A extends with a trend corresponding, at least in part, to the configuration of each of the two reference openings 30A, 30B defined through the frame 10. In particular, the engagement rib 48A has two portions arranged at 90A configured to be inserted into each of the two reference openings 30A, 30B of the frame 10, contacting corresponding orthogonal sides of said reference opening 30A, 30B.
-
For each of the first adapter bodies 40A, the connection elements 47A comprise a pair of hook-shaped protrusions projecting with respect to the second face 43A, each in a position close to a short side 410A of the plate-shaped part 41A. When the adapter body 40A is connected to the frame 10 at the first opening 30A, each of the hook-shaped protrusions 47A couples with a short perimeter side 32A of said first opening 30A according to a snap-fit connection principle that guarantees a stable and permanent connection. Instead, when the adapter body 40A is connected to the frame 10 at the second opening 30B, one of the two hook-shaped protrusions 47A couples with the frame 10 at a short perimeter edge 32B of said second opening 30B, while the other of the two hook-shaped protrusions 47A couples with the frame 10 at an edge of the connection opening 35B defined in a position close to the second opening 30B.
-
For each of the first adapter bodies 40A, the abutment elements comprise a pair of recesses (indicated with the same reference 49A) defined in symmetrically opposite positions each on one of the long sides 411A of the plate-shaped part 41A in a position adjacent to one of the short sides 410A of said plate-shaped part 41. The two recesses 49A are configured to be able to engage with a pair of abutment teeth 39A defined in symmetrically opposite positions on the long sides 31A at the first opening 30A, in particular close to a short side 32A thereof.
-
With reference to figures 7 and 7A, also each of the second adapter bodies 40B has a plate-shaped part 41B preferably having a substantially rectangular configuration in which a first face 42B and a second face 43B are defined, opposite each other. Each of the second adapter bodies 40B comprises an opening 50B extending between the two faces 42B, 43B and having a shape conforming to the shape of the drive pin destined to be guided by the guide 51B of the same body. In the solution illustrated, for example, the opening 50B has a configuration similar to a "leaf", considered on the plane on which the plate-shaped part 41-B extends. Each of the second adapter bodies 40B further comprises an edge 52B extending around the opening 50B projecting from the first face 42B of the plate-shaped part 41B. The guide 51B is defined by the surface 55B delimiting the opening 50B and/or by the inner surface 56A of the edge 52B. In use, a corresponding drive pin rests on one or on both of the surfaces 55B, 56A which define the guide 51B.
-
For each of the second adapter bodies 40B, the connection elements comprise a pair of hook-shaped protrusions 47B projecting with respect to said second face 43B each in a position close to a long side 411B of the plate-shaped part 41B. When the adapter body 40B is connected to the frame 10 at one of the two reference openings 30A, 30B, each of the hook-shaped protrusions 47B couples with a long perimeter edge 31A, 31B of said reference opening 30A, 30B also in this case forming a snap-fit type connection.
-
For each of the second adapter bodies 40B, the abutment elements comprise a pair of engagement ribs 48B, each of which extending, predominantly, in a position close and parallel to one of the short sides 410B of the plate-shaped part 41B. In particular, the two engagement ribs 48B are spaced in conformity to the distance between the short sides 32B of the second reference opening 30B. In this way, the two engagement ribs 48B on the one hand facilitate connection of the second adapter body 40B to the second opening 30B and on the other make this connection stable, preventing translations thereof along a direction orthogonal to the short sides 32B of said second opening 30B,
-
As can be seen in figures 7 and 7A, the abutment elements preferably also comprise a series of pairs of recesses (indicated with the reference 49B), wherein, for each pair, one recess is defined on a long side 411B of the plate-shaped part 41B and the other recess is defined on the other long side 411B of the plate-shaped part 41B. For each pair, the recesses are thus positioned symmetrically opposite with respect to a reference plane parallel to the long sides 411B of the plate-shaped part 41B. The purpose of the pairs of recesses 49B is to facilitate positioning of the adapter body 40B at the first reference opening 30A. In particular, the recesses 49A of each pair can engage with the abutment teeth 39A of the frame 10 projecting in a position in turn symmetrically opposite with respect to a reference plane parallel to the long sides 31A of the first reference opening 30A.

With reference to figure 7, for each of the second adapter bodies 40B, references are provided on the first face 42B (indicated with the reference T) that guide the operator for correct installation on the mounting frame 10. As better described below, when the pair of pins 5A, 5B, 5C, 5D selected require the use of the second adapter bodies 40B, the operator installes these latter so as to align a reference T provided on the adapters 40B with a corresponding reference T1 defined on the mounting frame 10 (at the reference openings 30A, 30B), where this reference T1 is indicative of a possible installation mode of the adapter body 40B (and hence indicative of a specific pair of drive pin and of a specific model of toilet flushing tank).

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, shown in figure 4A, the kit 1 according to the invention also comprises a plurality of pairs of fixing screws 8A, 8B, 8C, 8D (or screws 8A, 8B, 8C, 8D) each to connect the frame 10 to the body of a specific toilet flushing tank. For each pair, the related fixing screws 8A, 8B, 8C, 8D are thus destined to be placed in predetermined position with respect to the frame 10, where this position thus depends on the specific model of toilet flushing tank. As indicated in the figures, the fixing screws 8A, 8B, 8C, 8D preferably comprise a body screw 80A, 80B, 80C, 80D (indicated only in figure 4A for convenience) and a bushing 81A, 81B, 81C, 81D (also indicated only in figure 4A ), where this bushing 81A, 81B, 81C, 81D is destined to be operatively placed between the mounting frame and the body of the toilet flushing tank. The configuration of the fixing screws 8A, 8B, 8C, 8D (i.e., the configuration and the dimensions of the related body screw 80A, 80B, 80C, 80D and of the related bushing 81A, 81B, 81C, 81D) will depend on the specific model of toilet flushing tank for which it is destined.
-
The frame 10 comprises a plurality of pairs of positioning holes 9A, 9B, 9C, 9D (or holes 9A, 9B, 9C, 9D) each for positioning a pair of said fixing screws 8A, 8B, 8C, 8D. In the embodiment shown in figure 4A, the kit 1 has four pairs of screws 8A, 8B, 8C, 8D and therefore the frame 10 comprises four pairs of holes 9A, 9B, 9C, 9D. Consequently, this solution allows the possible fixing of at least four different types of toilet tanks.
-
With reference to figure 5, the pairs of holes 9A, 9B, 9C, 9D can be defined through the first portion 11 or through the second portion 12 of the frame 10, in particular through the bottom part 122. In the embodiment illustrated, a pair of holes (indicated with the references 9A) is defined through the first portion 11, where these holes are defined symmetrically opposite with respect to a central reference plane PR1. The other three pairs of holes (indicated with the references 9B, 9C, 9D) are defined through the bottom part 122 of the second portion 12. Of these three pairs, the holes 9C are arranged symmetrically opposite with respect to the reference plane PR1 indicated above, while the holes 9B, 9D of the other two pairs are defined in a non-symmetrically opposite position, again with respect to the reference plane PR1. In general, the arrangement of the holes can vary based on the models of toilet flushing tank considered.
-
In order to facilitate identification of the pairs of holes 9A, 9B, 9C, 9D (and hence in order to facilitate connection of the frame 10 to the body of the toilet flushing tank), indicators are provided on the frame 10, preferably in the form of codes and/or wording, where each indicator identifies a specific model of toilet flushing tank. These indicators can be applied subsequently or defined together with the frame 10 (for example during moulding thereof). In the embodiment in figure 5, an alpha-numeric indicator P1, P2, P3, P4 is provided to identify the holes of each pair of holes 9A, 9B, 9C, 9D. For each pair of holes 9A, 9B, 9C, 9D the indicator is different to the one related to the other pairs of holes 9A, 9B, 9C, 9D. Again with reference to figure, the indicator P1 identifies a first model of toilet flushing tank and is associated with a first pair of holes 9A. Likewise, each of the other indicators P2, P3 and P4 refers to another model of toilet flushing tank and is associated with a related pair of holes 9B, 9C, 9D.
-
Preferably, at least one of the indicators P1, P2, P3, P4 associated with one of the pairs of holes 9A, 9B, 9C, 9D is provided at one of the visual references T1 provided on the frame 10 close to the first reference opening 30A or to the second reference opening 30B. With reference to figure 5, at least one indicator P1, P2, P3 P4 is provided for each visual reference T1 so as to facilitate recognition by the operator of the mode with which the adapter bodies 40A, 40B must be connected to the frame 10.
-
Once again with reference to figure 5, the frame 10 preferably comprises lightening apertures 38 defined through the bottom part 122 of the second portion 12 with the aim of reducing the total amount of material forming the frame 10. Preferably, the latter is made of plastic material, for example through injection moulding.
-
Figures 8 to 10 refer to installation of a control assembly 100 on a first model of toilet flushing tank to which the indicator P1 on the frame 10 is associated. This first model requires the use of a first pair of drive pins 5A, of a first pair of fixing screws 8A and of the second adapter bodies 40B. As shown in figure 8, these components are selected from the kit 1 according to the invention. In particular, each of the second adapter bodies 40B is connected to the frame 10 at one of the two reference openings 30A, 30B and according to a first installation mode. With reference to figures 9 and 9A, this connection is produced by collimating one of the references T provided on the second face 4-B of the adapter body 40B with the visual reference T1 provided on the frame 10 and with which the indicator P1 related to the first model of toilet flushing tank is associated. The fixing screws 8A are positioned in the holes 9A with which said indicator P1 is associated. Through the screws 8A, the frame 10 is mounted on the body (not shown) of the toilet flushing tank.
-
With reference to figure 10, following connection of the second adapter bodies 40B, the drive pins 5A are positioned, in particular inserted from the side on which the guide 51B of said adapter bodies 40B project. In this way, the head 5' of the pins 5A remains on the same side in which the adapter bodies 40B remain positioned. Again with reference to figure 10, following insertion of the positioning of the pins 5A, the control assembly 100 can be connected to the frame 10 so that the guide unit 22 (not visible in figure. 10 ) is placed in the housing space delimited by the recessed portion 22 of the frame 122 and so that the plate 21 is connected to the frame-shaped portion 11 of said frame.
-
Figures 11 to 13 refer to installation of a control assembly 100 on a second model of toilet flushing tank with which the indicator P2 on the frame 10 is associated. This second model requires the use of a second pair of drive pins 5B, of a second pair of fixing screws 8A and also the use of the second adapter bodies 40B. With reference to figure 12, in this case the adapter bodies are connected to the frame 10 with a different installation mode with respect to the one provided in the case of the first model of toilet flushing tank. In this case, connection is implemented by collimating one of the references T provided on the second face 43B of the adapter body 40B with the visual reference T1 provided on the frame 10 and with which the indicator P2 related to the second model of toilet flushing tank is associated. It can be observed that in the condition shown in figure 12, the adapter bodies 40B are substantially rotated through 180° with respect to the condition shown in figure 9 which refers to the first model (indicator P1) of toilet flushing tank.
-
Following, or prior to, connection of the adapter bodies 40B to the frame 10, the fixing screws 8B selected from the kit 1 are positioned in the holes 9B with which the indicator P2 is associated, so as to connect the frame to the body of the toilet flushing tank. With reference to figure 13, the pins 5B selected from the kit 1 are inserted from the side on which the guide 51B of said adapter bodies 40B projects, always so that their head 5' remains inside the housing space defined by the recessed part of the frame 10, so that the related push button 21A, 21B of the control assembly 100 can act, directly or indirectly, on the head. In this regard, with reference to figure 13, the control assembly 100 is connected to the frame 10 in the same way indicated above with reference to the first model of toilet flushing tank.
-
Figures 14 to 16 refer to installation of a control assembly 100 on a third model of toilet flushing tank with which the indicator P3 on the frame 10 is associated. In this case, the use of a third pair of pins 5C and of a third pair of fixing screws 8C and the use of the first adapter bodies 40A is required. With reference to figure 15, each of the first adapter bodies 40A is connected to the frame 10 at one of the reference openings 30A, 30B and according to the only installation mode provided. In this case, the indicator P3 is provided on the frame 10 to identify the holes 9C in which the fixing screws 8C selected from the kit 1 are positioned. With reference to the pins 8C provided for this third model of toilet flushing tank, their head part 5' has a smaller diameter than their stem part, as is visible in figure 14. For this reason, they will be connected to the body (not shown) of the toilet flushing tank before connection of the frame 10 to said body.
-
With reference to figure 16, also in this case, the control assembly 100 will be connected to the frame 10 only after positioning of the pins 5C, connection of the first adapter bodies 40A and connection of the frame 10 to the body of the toilet flushing tank.
-
Figures 17 to 19 refer to installation of a control assembly 100 on a fourth model of toilet flushing tank with which the indicator P4 on the frame 10 is associated. This installation requires a fourth pair of drive pins 5D, a fourth pair of fixing screws 8D and the use of one of the two second adapter bodies 40B. Installation provides for connection of the adapter body 40B required to the frame 10 at the first reference opening 30A. With reference to figures 18 and 18A, through its guide 51B, the adapter body 40B is destined to guide and support one of the drive pins 5D, while the other pin will be supported and guided by the further guide 51C formed by the frame 10 at the second reference opening 30B. Again with reference to figure 18, the adapter body 40B is connected to the frame 10 making use of the pair of visual references T defined on the first surface 43B of the plate-shaped part 41B and associated to a symmetrically opposite pair of recesses 49B. In particular, connection is implemented so that this pair of recesses 49B engages with the abutment teeth 39B provided on the frame 10 at opposite long sides 31A of the first opening 30A. This connection is thus easily for an operator to recognize. As can be seen from figure 18A, the indicator P4 is preferably provided on the adapter body 40B at the pair of visual references T, also in this case with a view to facilitating connection of said body.
-
With reference to the fixing screws 8D, their positioning is facilitated by the presence of the indicator P4 provided close to two holes 9D. Instead, with regard to the fourth pair of pins 5D, these have a head part 5' having a larger diameter than the stem part 5" and therefore can be operatively positioned even after connection of the frame 10 to the body of the toilet flushing tank. With reference to figure 19, in a manner similar to that provided for the other cases, after connection of the frame 10 to the body of the toilet flushing tank and after positioning of the other components selected from the kit 1, the assembly 100 can be connected to the frame 10 as already indicated above.
-
In accordance with a possible embodiment, besides the frame 10, the other components of the kit 1 according to the invention can already by divided into a plurality of groups of components each of which specific for a given model of toilet flushing tank. Each group of components can comprise a pair of drive pins, a pair of fixing screws, and one or more adapter bodies (first or second). According to the model of toilet flushing tank, the operator can directly select the group of components suitable for installation, hence without requiring to select the components necessary for a specific model of toilet flushing tank.
-
Therefore, the present invention also relates to a method of use of the kit 1 for installing a control assembly 100. In particular, the method of use comprises the steps of:
- a) selecting a pair of pins 5A, 5B, 5C, 5D of the kit 1 based on the model of the toilet flushing tank on which said control assembly 100 is to be installed;
- b) selecting one or two adapter bodies 40A, 40B of the kit 1 based on the pair of pins 5A, 5B, 5C, 5D selected;
- c) connecting each of the adapter bodies 40A, 40B selected to said frame 10 at one of said reference openings 30A, 30B, wherein said adapter bodies are connected according to a mode dependent on said model of toilet flushing tank;
- d) fixing said mounting frame 10 to a body of said toilet flushing tank;
- e) connecting the pins of said pair of pins 5A, 5B, 5C, 5D selected to said toilet flushing tank so that each pin is supported and guided by the guide 50A, 50B of each adapter body 40A, 40B.
-
After completing these steps, the control assembly 100 can be connected to the mounting frame 10 (for example through mechanical pressure and/or other known systems) so that each push button 21A, 21B of the control assembly is in direct or indirect contact with a pin of the pair of pins 5A, 5B, 5C, 5D, i.e., so that the action on the push buttons 21A, 21B of the control assembly acts on said pins.
-
With reference to the pins of the pair of pins 5A, 5B, 5C, 5D selected, when the diameter of the head part 5' is smaller than the diameter of the stem part 5", step e) can be implemented before step d). In other words, the pins can be connected to the body of the toilet flushing tank before the frame 10 is fixed to said body.
-
In the case in which the kit also comprises the plurality of pairs of screws 8A, 8B, 8C, 8D and the plurality of pairs of holes 9A, 9B, 9C, 9D on the frame 10, then the method of use also comprises the further steps of selecting a pair of pins 8A, 8B, 8C, 8D from the kit 1 and identifying a pair of holes 9A, 9B, 9C, 9D on the frame 10 based on the model of the toilet flushing tank on which said control assembly 100 is to be installed. Before fixing the frame 10 (step d), the method of use includes the step of positioning each of the screws of the pair of fixing screws 8A, 8B, 8C, 8D selected in one of the holes of the pair of holes 9A, 9B, 9C, 9D selected. As indicated above, this operation is simplified by the presence of the indicators P1, P2, P3, P4, the function of which has been described above.
-
In a possible embodiment thereof, not shown in the figures, the kit according to the invention could be configured to allow installation of a control assembly comprising a single push button (mono-push button control assembly). In this case, the kit comprises a plurality of drive pins, each of which for operatively connecting said single push button to a specific model of toilet flushing tank and a plurality of adapter bodies each for supporting and guiding at least one pin of said plurality of pins. In this possible embodiment, the mounting frame could also comprise a single reference opening for the passage of one of the pins. In accordance with the principles of the invention, each of the adapter bodies can in any case be connected to the mounting frame at said reference opening according to at least one possible connection mode that establishes the operating position of the guide with respect to the frame. Also in this case, each adapter body can be used for at least one of said pins. However, it is still possible for a same adapter body to provide the guide for more than one pin.
-
The kit according to the invention allows the aim and the objects set to be achieved. In particular, the kit according to the invention allows installation, in a very rapid and precise manner, of a control assembly 100 on a finite number of possible models of toilet flushing tank. Therefore, the kit according to the invention allows personalization of the control assembly that is installed, i.e., it also allows installation of a different control assembly from the one typically supplied by the manufacturer of the model of the toilet flushing tank.
-
The kit according to the invention can be used immediately even by an inexperienced operator. In fact, the components required for installation can be rapidly selected/identified based on the model of toilet flushing tank to which the control assembly is to be operatively connected. In this regard, also positioning and/or connection of the various components (adapter bodies 40A, 40B and fixing screws 8A, 8B, 8C, 8D) on/to the frame 10 is very simple and easy to implement.
