Description
- The present invention relates, in general, to a modular electrical connection system for two/three-dimensional lighting, comprising LED lighting fixtures.
- Modular electrical connection systems for lighting comprising modules equipped with a lighting body are known in the art.
- In general, modular electrical connection systems for lighting have the problem of allowing the creation of a plurality of products of different shapes, starting from modules with reduced size and weight characteristics that allow the creation of self-supporting volumes characterised by significant lightness, equipped with a lighting body that does not require the dissipation of large quantities of heat.
- Object of the present invention is solving the aforementioned prior art problems by providing a modular electrical connection system for two/three-dimensional lighting and a module for such system having the aforementioned characteristics.
- The above and other objects and advantages of the invention, as will result from the following description, are achieved with a modular electrical connection system for two/three-dimensional lighting such as that described in claim 1. Preferred embodiments and non-trivial variants of the present invention form the subject matter of the dependent claims.
- It is understood that all attached claims form an integral part of this specification.
- It will be immediately obvious that countless variations and modifications can be made to what is described (for example relating to shape, dimensions, arrangements and parts with equivalent functionality) without departing from the scope of protection of the invention as appears from the appended claims.
- The present invention will be better described by some preferred embodiments, provided by way of example and not by way of limitation, with reference to the attached drawings, in which:
-
Figure 1 shows a view of a modular electrical connection system for lighting according to the present invention; -
Figure 2 shows a view of a module within a modular electrical connection system for lighting according to the present invention; -
Figure 3 shows a schematic view of an embodiment of the lighting device for the modular electrical connection system for lighting according to the present invention; -
Figures 4 ,5 show schematic views of the connection system of structural elements of the modular electrical connection system for lighting according to the present invention. - With reference to the Figures, the modular electrical connection system 100 for two/three-dimensional lighting in accordance with the present invention comprises a plurality of two-dimensional modules 10, each module 10 comprising two distinct polarities 11, 12 connectable to an electrical power supply, a negative pole 11 and a positive pole 12, each pole 11, 12 formed by a bar made of electrically conductive material, for example brass, connected to a light source 50, for example of the LED type, each pole 11, 12 being connected to a structural element 21, 22 by means of an elastic element 40; preferably, the bars have a circular or polygonal cross-section.
- In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the modular electrical connection system 100 for two- and three-dimensional lighting is made by joining the poles 11 and 12 with structural elements 21 and 22 using an elastic element 40 connected to the pole 11 or 12 and the structural element 21 or 22 at different relative angles, creating a self-supporting three-dimensional modular structure. The structural elements 21 and 22 are preferably made of metal rods, such as brass. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the rods have a circular or polygonal cross-section. The structural elements 21 and 22 can in turn be joined together using the elastic element 40 at different relative angles to extend the structure itself. Preferably, the elastic element 40 consists of an O-ring wrapped between the pole 11, 12 and the structural element 21, 22 or wrapped between two structural elements 21, 22. Preferably, the O-ring is wrapped so that the first bar rests on the surface of the O-ring at one of its diameters and two protruding O-ring portions 41 on the sides of the first bar are bent so as to allow the passage of the second bar between said protruding portions and the first bar.
- In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the light source is a lighting body 50 comprising a LED filament 51, of the type used inside known filament LED bulbs, which is used in an innovative way in the absence of a heat-conducting inert gas.
- The LED filament 51 comprises, integrated with each of the two positive and negative poles, an electromagnetic connection system 52 which comprises a first wire 53 made of electrically conductive material fixed, preferably superimposed, to a second wire 54 made of ferritic material, for example galvanized iron, for magnetic conductivity, said wires being inserted in a tube 55 made of electrically conductive material (for example brass) .
- Preferably, the lighting body 50 comprises an externally insulated resistor 58, connected to the LED filament 51, preferably to the positive pole, to regulate the supply voltage of the lighting body 50; preferably, the LED filament 51 is covered with glass or a translucent insulating material 56.
- Advantageously, the modular electrical connection system 100 for two/three-dimensional lighting allows the creation, starting from 10 modules with reduced size and weight, of a plurality of products of different shapes and self-supporting volumes equipped with a lighting body that does not require the dissipation of large quantities of heat.
