Abstract

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to device and method of communication. A terminal device determines a beam set for STxMP. Based on information of the beam set, the terminal device determines power limitation information for the STxMP and performs the STxMP based on the power limitation information. In this way, suitable UL PC for STxMP may be achieved.

Description

DEVICE AND METHOD OF COMMUNICATION TECHNICAL FIELD
  • Example embodiments of the present disclosure generally relate to the field of telecommunication and in particular, to method, device, and computer readable medium of communication for uplink (UL) power control (PC) for simultaneous transmission across multi-panels (STxMP) .
  • BACKGROUND
  • Currently, two power limitation assumptions for STxMP have been discussed, i.e., a power limitation per panel for STxMP and a total power limitation per user equipment (UE) over all UE panels used for STxMP. However, how to perform UL PC for STxMP in these scenarios is still unclear.
  • SUMMARY
  • In general, example embodiments of the present disclosure provide a method, device and computer storage medium of communication for UL PC for STxMP.
  • In a first aspect, there is provided a terminal device. The terminal device comprises a processor configured to cause the terminal device to: determine a beam set for simultaneous transmission across panels; determine, based on information of the beam set, power limitation information for the simultaneous transmission across the panels; and perform the simultaneous transmission across the panels based on the power limitation information.
  • In a second aspect, there is provided a method of communication. The method comprises: determining, at a terminal device, a beam set for simultaneous transmission across panels; determining, based on information of the beam set, power limitation information for the simultaneous transmission across the panels; and performing the simultaneous transmission across the panels based on the power limitation information.
  • In a third aspect, there is provided a computer readable medium having instructions stored thereon. The instructions, when executed on at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to perform the method according to the second aspect of the present disclosure.
  • It is to be understood that the summary section is not intended to identify key or essential features of embodiments of the present disclosure, nor is it intended to be used to limit the scope of the present disclosure. Other features of the present disclosure will become easily comprehensible through the following description.

  • As known, UE can configure its maximum output power. The configured UE maximum output power PCMAX, f, c for carrier f of a serving cell c may be defined as that available to the reference point of a given transmitter branch that corresponds to the reference point of the higher-layer filtered reference signal receiving power (RSRP) measurement. The configured UE maximum output power PCMAX, f, c for carrier f of a  serving cell c shall be set such that the corresponding measured peak EIRP PUMAX, f, c is within the following bounds in equation (1) :

  • where PPowerclass denotes the UE minimum peak effective isotropic radiated power (EIRP) , EIRPmax denotes the applicable maximum EIRP, MPRf, c denotes maximum output power reduction for carrier f of serving cell c, A-MPRf, c denotes additional maximum output power reduction for carrier f of serving cell c, ΔMBP, n denotes the peak EIRP relaxation, P-MPRf, c denotes the power management UE maximum power reduction for carrier f of serving cell c, T (ΔP) denotes the tolerance T (ΔP) for applicable values of ΔP, and TRPmax denotes the maximum TRP for the UE power class. DPIBE is 1.0 dB if UE declares support for mpr-PowerBoost-FR2-r16, UL transmission is QPSK, MPRf,c = 0 and when NS_200 applies and the network configures the UE to operate with mpr-PowerBoost-FR2-r16 otherwise DPIBE is 0.0 dB. The requirement is verified in beam peak direction. mpr-PowerBoost-FR2-r16 indicates whether UE is allowed to boost uplink transmission power by suspending in-band emission (IBE) requirements.
  • It has been agreed that a power limitation per panel and a total power limitation per UE for STxMP should be applied to a same UE. Variations among beams of different panels transmitted simultaneously may be larger or smaller, and thus UE maximum output power per panel may be different, even if EIRP requirement is the same for each panel.
  • In view of this, embodiments of the present disclosure provide a solution of communication for UL PC so as to overcome the above or other potential issues. In the solution, a terminal device determines a beam set for STxMP. Based on information of the beam set, the terminal device determines power limitation information for the STxMP and performs the STxMP based on the power limitation information. In this way, suitable UL PC for STxMP may be achieved. Transmission power may be guaranteed as high as possible while requirement on maximum EIRP is met, and thus quality of UL transmission may be ensured.
  • Principles and implementations of the present disclosure will be described in detail below with reference to the figures.
  • In the present disclosure, some terms may refer to same or similar physical meaning and may be used interchangeably. Some exemplary examples are listed as below.

  • In some embodiments, the terminal device 120 may determine reference power limitation information (e.g., PCMAX, f, c) for the terminal device 120, and determine the power limitation information for a beam in the beam set based on the reference power limitation information and a scaling factor for the beam. For example, the terminal device 120 may determine beta1*PCMAX, f, c and beta2*PCMAX, f, c as the maximum output power  for panel 1 and panel 2, where beta1 denotes a scaling factor for beam 1 of panel 1, and beta2 denotes a scaling factor for beam 2 of panel 2.
  • In some embodiments, the terminal device 120 may determine power limitation information dedicated for the STxMP as the power limitation information for the beam set. For example, the terminal device 120 may determine PCMAX, f, c, STxMP as a total maximum output power for all beams in the beam set. In some alternative embodiments, PCMAX, f, c, STxMP may be applied for each panel used for STxMP.

  • In some embodiments, the terminal device 120 may transmit capability of the terminal device 120 comprising the power limitation information. In other words, the terminal device 120 may transmit the power limitation information in UE capability reporting. For example, as the power limitation information associated with the maximum output power, depending on different Pcmax assumptions, PCMAX, f, c, t, N, scaling factors, or  PCMAX, f, c, STxMP may be reported.
  • In some embodiments, the terminal device 120 may transmit the power limitation information in a CSI report. In this way, power limitation information for STxMP may be reported in a more dynamic way. Depending on selection of UL beams, power limitation information (e.g., the maximum output power assumption) may be different.
  • In some embodiments, the network device 110 may configure beam reporting quantity and resources for beam measurement and report, and the terminal device 120 may transmit the power limitation information in the CSI report based on the configuration. In some embodiments, the terminal device 120 may report information of the beam set and information of the power limitation information for the beam set. The reporting may be in different granularities.
  • For example, Pcmax is assumed per UE. In this case, the terminal device 120 may report information of whether beams in the beam set can be transmitted simultaneously via the same Pcmax or not. For example, the information may be indicated via 1-bit or 2-bit indicator. In this way, a high-level reporting may be achieved. In another example, scaling factors (e.g., beta1, beta2, etc. ) for beams in the beam set may be reported. In this way, a reporting with finer granularity may be achieved.
  • In some embodiments, the terminal device 120 may transmit a group based beam report comprising the power limitation information. In some embodiments, the network device 110 may configure the group based beam report for STxMP so as to report the power limitation information. In some embodiments, based on capability of the terminal device 120, the network device 110 may configure whether reported DL RSs corresponding to beams in the beam set can be received simultaneously.
  • In some embodiments, the group based beam report may comprise an indicator of the power limitation information. In some embodiments, the indicator may be per resource group. In some embodiments, the power limitation information may be associated with the beam set. For example, an example group based beam report may be configured as in Table 1.
  • Table 1

  • In the context of the present disclosure, it is assumed that the beam set for STxMP corresponds to CRI/SSBRI #1 and #2. It is to be understood that reporting four resource groups is merely an example and the number of resource groups may be any suitable numbers depending on a configuration from the network.
  • As shown in Table 1, the field “Indicator of 1st resource group” indicates power limitation information for CRI/SSBRI #1 and #2 of 1st resource group. The field “Indicator  of 2nd resource group” indicates power limitation information for CRI/SSBRI #1 and #2 of 2nd resource group. The field “Indicator of 3rd resource group” indicates power limitation information for CRI/SSBRI #1 and #2 of 3rd resource group. The field “Indicator of 4th resource group” indicates power limitation information for CRI/SSBRI #1 and #2 of 4th resource group.

  • In some alternative or additional embodiments, the indicator may be per group based beam report, not per resource group. In some alternative or additional embodiments, the scaling factors may also be reported per beam (i.e., per CRI/SSBRI) .
  • In some alternative or additional embodiments, a bit length of the indictor of the power limitation information may depend on the number of assumptions supported. For example, 1-bit per resource group if only two of maximum power assumptions supported.
  • In some embodiments, if a group based beam report is configured for reporting UL beam pairs for STxMP, RSRP and differential RSRP related information may not be  reported, since it is for indicating UL beam pairs. In this way, signaling overhead may be saved.
  • In some embodiments, if a group based beam report is configured for reporting UL beam pairs for STxMP, RSRP and differential RSRP related information may be replaced with path loss and differential path loss information. In this way, signaling overhead may be saved.

  • In some alternative or additional embodiments, a bit length of the indicator of the power limitation information may depend on the number of assumptions supported. For example, 1-bit per beam set if only two of maximum power assumptions supported.
  • In some embodiments, if a capability index report is configured for reporting UL beam pairs for STxMP, RSRP and differential RSRP related information may not be reported, since it is for indicating UL beam pairs. In this way, signaling overhead may be saved.
  • In some embodiments, if a capability index report is configured for reporting UL beam pairs for STxMP, RSRP and differential RSRP related information may be replaced with path loss and different path loss information. In this way, signaling overhead may be saved.
  • In some embodiments, if a capability index report is configured for reporting UL beam pairs for STxMP, RSRP and differential RSRP related information may be replaced with Pcmax information. In this way, signaling overhead may be saved.
  • It is to be noted that although the above example is described in connection with a RSRP report, the present disclosure is not limited to this and a SINR report is also feasible.
  • In some embodiments, the terminal device 120 may transmit the power limitation information associated with a set of SRIs (i.e., a SRI combination) . The set of SRI corresponds to the beam set for STxMP. In other words, based on transmitted SRS, the terminal device 120 may report supported SRI combination and associated power limitation information for STxMP.
  • In some embodiments, the power limitation information associated with the set of SRIs may be transmitted via an RRC signaling. In some embodiments, the power limitation information associated with the set of SRIs may be transmitted via a MAC CE. In some embodiments, the power limitation information associated with the set of SRIs may be transmitted via UCI. In some embodiments, the scaling factors of beams in the beam set may also be reported.
  • In some embodiments, for one power assumption, supported SRI combinations may be reported. For example, SRI combinations may be {SRS resource set 1 SRS resource 1, SRS resource set 2 SRS resource 2} ; {SRS resource set 1 SRS resource 3, SRS resource set 2 SRS resource 4} ; same Pcmax. That is, UL beams corresponding to SRI 1/3 from SRS resource set 1 and SRI 2/4 from SRS resource set 2 can be used for STxMP and the maximum output power for each beam is Pcmax.
  • Alternatively or additionally, the terminal device 120 may transmit the power limitation information unassociated with a further set of SRIs. In other words, for one power assumption, SRI combinations not supported may be reported.
  • In some embodiments, for one SRI combination, supported power assumptions may be reported. Alternatively or additionally, for one SRI combination, power assumptions not supported may be reported.
  • In some embodiments, the terminal device 120 may transmit the power limitation information associated with a set of TCI states. In other words, based on activated or configured TCI states/TCI state combinations, the terminal device 120 may report a set of TCI states (i.e., a TCI state combination) and associated power limitation information for  STxMP. In this way, configured or activated TCI states/TCI state combinations may reflect NW selection of UL beam combinations, and the terminal device 120 may further select or report power assumptions for part or all of those UL beam combinations.
  • In some embodiments, the power limitation information associated with the set of TCI states may be transmitted via an RRC signaling. In some embodiments, the power limitation information associated with the set of TCI states may be transmitted via a MAC CE. In some embodiments, the power limitation information associated with the set of TCI states may be transmitted via UCI. In some embodiments, the scaling factors of beams in the beam set may also be reported.
  • In some embodiments, for one power assumption, supported TCI state combinations may be reported. For example, TCI state combinations may be {TCI state 1, TCI state 2} ; {TCI state 3, TCI state 4} ; same Pcmax. That is, UL beams corresponding to TCI state 1/3 and TCI state 2/4 can be used for STxMP and the maximum output power for each beam is Pcmax. In another example, TCI state combinations may be TCI code point 000; TCI code point 001; same Pcmax. That is, UL beams corresponding to TCI code point 000 and 001 can be used for STxMP and the maximum output power for each beam is Pcmax. In another example, TCI state combinations may be the first activated TCI state combinations in MAC CE; same Pcmax. That is, UL beams corresponding to the first activated TCI state combinations in MAC CE can be used for STxMP and the maximum output power for each beam is Pcmax.
  • Alternatively or additionally, the terminal device 120 may transmit the power limitation information unassociated with a further set of TCI states. In other words, for one power assumption, TCI state combinations not supported may be reported.
  • In some embodiments, for one TCI state combination, supported power assumptions may be reported. Alternatively or additionally, for one TCI state combination, power assumptions not supported may be reported.
  • In some embodiments, the terminal device 120 may transmit a PHR comprising the power limitation information for STxMP. For example, the terminal device 120 may report Pcmax and MPR per panel/beam or per UE in a PHR. As power headroom is based on actual transmission or reference transmission, thus the power headroom may better reflect UE-side situation.
  • Fig. 4 illustrates a schematic diagram 400 illustrating an example PHR MAC CE  according to some example embodiments of the present disclosure. A single entry PHR MAC CE is shown for illustration. It is to be understood that single entry PHR is merely an example, and the present disclosure may also apply to multiple entry PHR, enhanced single entry PHR, enhanced multiple entry PHR, enhanced single entry PHR for multiple TRP, or enhanced multiple entry PHR for multiple TRP.
  • As shown in Fig. 4, R field indicates reserved bit set to 0. PH field indicates the power headroom level. P field indicates that if mpe-Reporting-FR2 is configured and the Serving Cell operates on FR2, the MAC entity shall set this field to 0 if the applied P-MPR value, to meet MPE requirements, is less than P-MPR_00 and to 1 otherwise. If mpe-Reporting-FR2 is not configured or the Serving Cell operates on FR1, the P field indicates whether power backoff is applied due to power management. The MAC entity shall set the P field to 1 if the corresponding PCMAX, f, c field would have had a different value if no power backoff due to power management had been applied. PCMAX, f, c field indicates the PCMAX, f, c used for calculation of the preceding PH field. MPE field indicates the applied power backoff to meet MPE requirements if mpe-Reporting-FR2 is configured, and the Serving Cell operates on FR2, and if the P field is set to 1. If mpe-Reporting-FR2 is not configured, or if the Serving Cell operates on FR1, or if the P field is set to 0, R bits are present instead. mpe-Reporting-FR2 indicates whether the UE shall report MPE P-MPR in the PHR MAC CE.
  • As shown in Fig. 4, the field 401 may indicate power assumption (e.g., maximum output power) for STxMP. In some embodiments, if the terminal device 120 supports per panel/beam Pcmax for STxMP, the field 401 may indicate PCMAX, f, c, t, where t corresponds to a panel/beam. In some embodiments, if the terminal device 120 supports additional Pcmax for STxMP, the field 401 may indicate PCMAX, f, c, STxMP. In some embodiments, if the terminal device 120 supports the same Pcmax for STxMP and other single panel UL transmission, the field 401 may indicate PCMAX, f, c.
  • As shown in Fig. 4, the field 402 may indicate MPR/MPE for STxMP. In some embodiments, if the terminal device 120 supports per panel/beam MPR/MPE for STxMP, the field 402 may indicate MPEt, where t corresponds to a panel/beam. MPEt indicates the applied power backoff to meet MPE requirements for a panel/beam. In addition, the information about applied panel/beam/beam set may be reported. In some embodiments, if the terminal device 120 supports additional MPR/MPE for STxMP, the field 402 may  indicate MPESTxMP. MPESTxMP indicates the applied power backoff to meet MPE requirements for STxMP. MPESTxMP may be an absolute value or an accumulated value. In some embodiments, if the terminal device 120 supports the same Pcmax for STxMP and other single panel UL transmission, the field 402 may indicate MPE. MPESTxMP is for the total power reduction of all panels used for STxMP. In some embodiments, the additional MPE for STxMP may be for the power reduction of each panel used for STxMP. In some embodiments, information of whether MPESTxMP is for the total power reduction of all panels used for STxMP or each panel used for STxMP may be reported or configured.
  • In some embodiments, if a condition for triggering the PHR is satisfied for at least one beam in the beam set, the terminal device 120 may transmit the PHR comprising the power limitation information. In some embodiments, if a condition for triggering the PHR is satisfied for one beam in the beam set, the terminal device 120 may transmit the PHR. In some embodiments, if a condition for triggering the PHR is satisfied for all the beams in the beam set, the terminal device 120 may transmit the PHR.
  • For example, the condition for triggering the PHR may be that per panel/beam, or for all panel/beam, the measured periodic-MPR (P-MPR) applied to meet FR2 MPE requirements is equal to or larger than mpe-Threshold for at least one activated FR2 Serving Cell since the last transmission of a PHR in the MAC entity. mpe-Threshold indicates a threshold in dB for reporting MPE P-MPR when FR2 is configured. In another example, the condition for triggering the PHR may be that per panel/beam, or for all panel/beam, the measured P-MPR applied to meet FR2 MPE requirements has changed more than phr-Tx-PowerFactorChange dB for at least one activated FR2 Serving Cell since the last transmission of a PHR due to the MPR issue. phr-Tx-PowerFactorChange indicates value in dB for PHR reporting. Value dB1 corresponds to 1 dB, dB3 corresponds to 3 dB and so on..
  • In some embodiments, based on capability of the terminal device 120, the network device 110 may configure one or more Pcmax assumption or MPR assumption applied at the terminal device 120. The terminal device 120 may generate the PHR based on the configuration.
  • So far, a solution of UC PC for STxMP is described. With the process 300, suitable UL PC for STxMP may be achieved. Transmission power may be guaranteed as high as possible while requirement on maximum EIRP is met, and thus quality of UL  transmission may be ensured. It is to be understood that operations described in the process 300 may be carried out in any suitable orders and combination, the present disclosure does not limit this aspect.
  • EXAMPLE IMPLEMENTATION OF METHOD
