Abstract

The invention concerns a semi-automatic rifle (1) comprising a main body (2) and a barrel group (3).
The barrel group (3) comprises:
- a barrel (4) extending along a barrel axis (X-X) engaged at one end with the main body (2);
- a rib (5) extending along said barrel axis (X-X) engaged with the barrel (4) in an upper region;
- a guide device (6) for supporting weapon accessories, extending parallel to the barrel axis (X-X), wherein said guide device (6) engages the rib (5) in a region proximal to the main body (2).

Description

  • The present invention relates to a semi-automatic rifle.
  • In particular, by "semi-automatic rifle" is meant a semi-automatic rifle for sporting use, for example for hunting.
  • In known embodiments, semi-automatic rifles comprise a main body, also known as receiver, in which specific components are housed or on which they are engaged, such as those of the firing mechanism or the trigger assembly.
  • In particular, the main body is also structured to allow the "semi-automaticity" of the firing mechanism.
  • The main body is also suitable for supporting the barrel group.
  • In known solutions of semi-automatic rifles, with particular reference to the respective barrel groups and to the main bodies which support said barrel groups, a number of issues are known related to the use of weapon accessories, such as sighting systems.
  • In fact, embodiments of semi-automatic rifles are known in which said sighting systems are mounted on the main body in a plurality of positions, for example proximal to the user or distal from the user, for example in a region adjacent to one end of the barrel. Therefore, the main body needs to be designed and manufactured accordingly, providing specific zones in which said weapon accessories are mountable.
  • An object of the present invention is to provide a solution of semi-automatic rifle alternative to the solutions of the prior art in which said issue is solved, proposing a solution of semi-automatic rifle in which the main body is not affected by the presence of accessory systems, in particular in the region proximal to the barrel end.
  • Said object is achieved by means of the semi-automatic rifle according to claim 1. The claims dependent thereon seek protection for further features and entail further technical advantages.
  • In addition, further features and advantages of the invention will appear from the description reported below of its preferred embodiments, given by way of nonlimiting example, with reference to the accompanying figures, in which:
    • Figure 1 shows a side view of a semi-automatic rifle according to the present invention;
    • Figure 2 shows a perspective view in separated parts of a barrel group comprised in the semi-automatic rifle according to a preferred embodiment;
    • Figure 3 illustrates a side view of the barrel group of figure 2, assembled.
  • With reference to the attached figures, number 1 denotes, in its entirety, a semi-automatic rifle in accordance with the present invention.
  • Preferably, said semi-automatic rifle 1 is a semi-automatic rifle for sporting use, for example for hunting.
  • In accordance with the present invention, the semi-automatic rifle 1 comprises a main body 2. Preferably said main body 2 is also known as receiver.
  • Said main body 2 houses or supports all the various components suitable for carrying out the firing action.
  • The semi-automatic rifle 1 further comprises a barrel group 3, which extends in length from the main body 2.
  • Preferably, the barrel group 3 extends along a barrel axis X-X.
  • Preferably, the barrel group 3 is engaged with the main body 2.
  • According to the present invention, the barrel group 3 comprises a barrel 4 extending along the barrel axis X-X.
  • Said barrel 4 is engaged at one end with the main body 2. The other end is the muzzle of the barrel 4 and of the semi-automatic rifle 1.
  • Preferably, said barrel 4 is made of a metal material, for example of steel alloy.
  • Furthermore, according to the present invention, the barrel group 3 comprises a rib 5. Said rib 5 is positioned in an upper region of the barrel 4.
  • The rib 5 also extends along the barrel axis X-X, parallel to the barrel 4.
  • Preferably, the rib 5 and the barrel 4 are mutually engaged.
  • Preferably, said rib 5 is made of a metal material, for example of steel alloy.
  • Preferably, the rib 5 and the barrel 4 are made enbloc.
  • In accordance with a preferred embodiment, the main body 2 is made of polymer material, for example glass-filled polyamide.
  • In accordance with a preferred embodiment, the main body 2 is a supporting structure made of polymer material.
  • Preferably, the main body 2 comprises a single structural metal insert. Preferably, the main body 2 comprises a metal insert embedded in the main body 2 made of polymer material.
  • Preferably, said metal insert is suitable for engaging the barrel 4. Preferably, said metal insert is suitable for providing an abutment to the barrel 4, which is suitable for engaging both the metal insert and, in general, the main body 2 on which it discharges the forces.
  • Said main body 2 in the region proximal to the barrel 4 is free from the presence of systems for fastening weapon accessories.
  • Indeed, according to the present invention, the barrel group 3 comprises a guide device 6 for supporting weapon accessories.
  • Said guide device 6 extends parallel to the barrel axis X-X.
  • Moreover, said guide device 6 engages the rib 5.
  • In particular, said guide device 6 is engaged with the rib 5 in a region proximal to the main body 2.
  • According to one embodiment, the guide device 6 extends in length, for a segment, above the main body 2.
  • According to a preferred embodiment, the guide device 6 comprises an upper wall 60 and a right wing 61 and a left wing 62 extending from the upper wall 60.
  • Preferably, the guide device 6 comprises a longitudinal hollow 600. Preferably, said longitudinal hollow 600 is laterally delimited by the right wing 61 and the left wing 62 and at the top by the upper wall 60.
  • Preferably, the rib 5 extends inside said longitudinal hollow 600.
  • According to a preferred embodiment, the longitudinal hollow 600 is shaped, in cross-section, complementarily to the rib 5.
  • In accordance with a preferred embodiment, the guide device 6 is couplable to the rib 5 by inserting it parallel to the rib. Preferably, the guide device 6 is couplable to the rib 5 by means of a dovetail coupling.
  • In accordance with a preferred embodiment, the guide device 6 is couplable to the rib 5 by inserting it parallel to the barrel axis X-X.
  • According to a preferred embodiment, the rib 5 comprises one or more concave portions 50, extending in height, and the guide device 6 comprises convex portions suitable for being housed in said concave portions.
  • Preferably, the rib comprises a concave portion 50 in a region proximal to the main body 2. For example, said concave portion 50 is suitable for facilitating said engagement by insertion.
  • According to a preferred embodiment, the barrel group 3 comprises at least one transverse fastening element 7 suitable for engaging the rib 5 and the guide device 6.
  • Preferably, the barrel group 3 comprises two transverse fastening elements 7, mutually axially spaced apart, suitable for engaging the rib 5 and the guide device 6.
  • Preferably, said transverse fastening element 7 passes through the guide device 6, preferably through the right wing 61 and/or the left wing 62, in a device hole 67.
  • Furthermore, said transverse fastening element 7 crosses the rib 5 through a rib hole 57.
  • Preferably, the device hole 67 or the rib hole 57 are threaded to be engageable by the transverse fastening element 7.
  • In accordance with a preferred embodiment, the barrel group 3 comprises at least one transverse quick fastening member, for example for snap engagement of the guide device 6 onto the rib 5.
  • The present invention is not limited to the type of engagement method of the guide device 6.
  • According to a preferred embodiment, the guide device 6 is of the Picatinny coupling type.
