Abstract

A lighting device comprising at least one LED module associated with a power supply unit by means of a coupling device; the coupling device comprises selective inclination means of the LED module with respect to the power supply unit.

Description

  • The present invention relates to a lighting device with a device for supporting and adjusting the lighting body.
  • More particularly, the present invention relates to a lighting device consisting of an LED module associated with a driver housing, i.e. the power supply unit of the LED module.
  • Lighting devices consisting of one or more LEDs powered through a power supply unit, called a driver, are well known.
  • The LEDs are generally mounted on a module and connected, by means of a power cable, to the driver which is generally contained in an enclosure.
  • The desired photometry of the lighting devices is achieved by securing the LED module to the support structure, which can also be the driver housing itself, which in turn is attached to a base structure.
  • A drawback of conventional LED module mounting systems is that the photometry of the device cannot be easily changed after installation, because the operations of adjusting and fixing the position of the LED module are laborious.
  • KR101502282B1 discloses a double heat dissipation LED lamp with a honeycomb structure that allows the user to change the heat dissipation pattern, maximizing a heat dissipation area. An LED lamp part includes an LED receiving part and a heat dissipation part, a second heat dissipation part includes a plurality of detachable heat radiation wings, a top cover which fixes the second heat dissipation part, and a fixing unit which fixes the LED lamp part.
  • US2021/239305A1 discloses an adjustable, modular flood light fixture including a plurality of light modules, each including an enclosure and a luminaire configured to generate light. The luminaire is pivotally mounted to the housing. The light modules are serially connected with the luminaires of the light modules being each independently, pivotally adjustable. The size of an illuminated area may be controlled by the number of light modules being used, with pivoting adjustment allowing further control over how light from each of the light modules is directed.
  • The aim of the present invention is to provide a lighting device equipped with a support and adjustment device of the lighting body that overcomes the drawbacks of the above-mentioned prior art.
  • Within this aim, an object of the invention is to provide a device that allows the photometry of the lighting device to be changed easily and quickly.
  • An object of the invention is to provide a device that can be installed and adjusted by an operator without him having to access live parts.
  • A further object of the present invention is to provide a lighting device which, due to its special design features, is able of ensuring the broadest possible guarantees of reliability and safety in use.
  • This aim and other objects that will become better apparent hereinafter are achieved by a lighting device, as claimed in the appended claims.
  • Further characteristics and advantages will become better apparent from the description of preferred, but not exclusive, embodiments of the invention, illustrated by way of non-limiting example in the accompanying drawings, wherein:
    • Figure 1 is a perspective view of the lighting device with a supporting adjustment device of the lighting body, according to the invention;
    • Figure 2 is an exploded perspective view of the coupling device of the device according to the invention;
    • Figure 3 is a frontal view of the device;
    • Figure 4 is a side view of the device;
    • Figure 5 is a front view illustrating the LED module inclined to one side;
    • Figure 6 is a front view showing the LED module inclined to the opposite side, with respect to the previous figure;
    • Figure 7 is a side view showing the LED module inclined to one side;
    • Figure 8 is a side view showing the LED module inclined to the opposite side, with respect to the previous figure;
    • Figure 9 is a front view of the lighting device with several LED modules.
  • With reference to the figures, the device according to the invention, globally designated by reference number 1, comprises one or more LED modules 2 associated with a power supply unit 3, comprising a housing containing a driver.
  • A LED module 2 is coupled to the power supply unit 3 by means of a coupling device 4.
  • According to the invention, the coupling device 4 comprises selective inclination means of the LED module 2 with respect to the power supply unit 3.
  • The coupling device 4, according to the invention, comprises a support plate 5, associated with the LED module 2, a graduated plate 6, associated with the power supply unit 3, and adjustable locking means of the graduated plate 6 at different angular positions with respect to the support plate 5.
  • The graduated plate 6 comprises two side portions 61 and 62 and an upper portion 63.
  • A side portion 61 has a number of lateral holes 64, arranged along an arc of circumference.
  • The upper portion 63 comprises four upper holes 65, arranged crosswise and engaging two vertical pins 31 integral with the power supply unit 3.
  • The support plate 5 is fixed to the LED module 2 by means of screws 21 and includes a pin 51 for engaging rotation holes 66 formed in the lateral portions 61 and 62 of the graduated plate 6.
  • The support plate 5 includes an adjuster piston 52 for selectively engaging one of the lateral holes 64, so as to vary the angle of inclination of the LED module with respect to the support base, in this case the power supply unit 3.
  • The four upper holes 65 of the upper portion 63, arranged in a cross pattern, allow the graduated plate 6 to be fixed in four positions at 90° to each other, selectively engaging the two vertical pins 31 of the power supply unit 3.
  • Advantageously, the coupling device 4 is attached to the power supply unit 3 by means of a quick coupling 7.
  • Pin 51 is the fulcrum for the rotation of the LED module 2 in relation to the power supply unit 3, and adjuster piston 52 allows the LED module 2 to be locked at a specific angle, in this case from -45° to +45°, in steps of every 15°.
  • The quick coupling 7, which is integral to the coupling device 4 by means of the vertical pins 31, allows the coupling device 4 and the LED module 2 assembly to be disconnected from the power supply unit 3, so that the same quick coupling 7 can be rotated with respect to the graduated plate 6, in order to position the LED module 2 rotated 90° with respect to the power supply unit 3.
  • Figures 3-7 show some of the many configurations possible with the coupling device 4 according to the present invention.
  • Figures 5-8 show the LED module 2 arranged at inclinations of + 45° and - 45° and, in the example shown, the side holes 64 allow intermediate inclinations of 15°.
  • The rotation of LED module 2 is possible in both directions, transverse or linear to the direction of power supply unit 3.
  • The coupling device 4 according to the present invention makes it possible to install the LED module 2 by rotating it on its axis by 90°, which is a great advantage especially in combination with elliptical or asymmetrical lenses inserted within the LED module 2.
  • The coupling device 4, combined with the quick coupling 7, allows for truly extensive installation and lighting versatility.
  • Figure 9 shows an embodiment of the device, according to the invention, comprising a plurality of LED modules 2 mounted on a single power supply unit 103 and differentially oriented by means of respective coupling devices 4.
  • The coupling device 4 according to the invention can be installed in an existing lighting device, consisting of the LED module 2 and the power supply unit 3, allowing the photometry of the device to be changed in response to new requirements, without having to replace the product and only by adding the few elements allowing the LED modules to be inclined.
  • The installation of the coupling device 4 according to the invention and the rotation of the LED module is operable by an operator without access to live parts, without completely disassembling the device and without impairing its original characteristics.
  • In practice, it has been found that the invention achieves its aims and objects by providing a lighting device with a device for supporting and adjusting the lighting body that allows the photometry to be changed easily and quickly, even in an already installed luminaire.
