Description
- Fastening element for the frame and upright or subframe of a swing door in walls made of plasterboard panels.
- The present invention relates to a fastening element for the frame of a swing door and the upright for plasterboard panels that acts as a subframe for the frame of the door.
- The object of the invention is to provide an assembly system that allows the assembler to save time, as well as to constitute an element that reinforces the fastening of the frame to the upright or subframe to which it is connected.
- In the scope of practical application of the invention, for the assembly of a swing door in a wall made of plasterboard panels, prior to installing the door, the uprights must be mounted on which the plasterboard panels that will determine the walls must be fastened, as well as those that will define the subframe of the door, both the lintel and side uprights thereof.
- The uprights must be level, especially those that will form the door subframe, so that the door fits into place.
- However, despite starting from a level subframe, the current fastening elements do not allow the frame to self-level with the subframe, meaning that the assembler must also level the frame before fastening it to the subframe, with the consequent loss of time that this entails.
- In addition, the process requires the edges of the wall that extend beyond the frame of the door to be levelled with plaster, which also represents a significant loss of time.
- In this sense, the frames, although they always have the same configuration, their arrangement with respect to the wall is inverted like a mirror depending on whether the door opens inwards or outwards, which affects the relative arrangement thereof relative to the upright, in addition to which these systems are applicable indistinctly to walls made of pairs of simple plasterboard panels, in the case of more economical walls, and to walls made of pairs of double plasterboard panels, in the case of walls with better acoustic insulation capabilities.
- The fastening element of the frame and subframe upright of a swing door that the invention proposes fully and satisfactorily solves the problems previously explained, simplifying the assembly and levelling operations, being applicable in its four embodiment variants to the following cases:
- Walls made of pairs of simple plasterboard panels with an outward opening door.
- Walls made of pairs of simple plasterboard panels with an inward opening door.
- Walls made of pairs of double plasterboard panels with an outward opening door.
- Walls made of pairs of double plasterboard panels with an inward opening door.
- To this end, and as a common denominator to the four proposed applications, the device of the invention envisages the inclusion of a self-levelling support wing, such that the assembler can directly rest the frame on the levelled upright or subframe and it remains equally level.
- Furthermore, this wing fulfils an additional function that also represents an advantage over the current state of the art, and that is that the wing is arranged opposite the opening direction of the swing door, which allows bulky and heavy doors to be better supported when they are open or being opened since at that moment the weight of the swing door exerts a greater force on the frame and the upright and the support wing allows the weight of the swing door to be better distributed by resting on the upright and not being fastened only to the same by the classic sheet lag screws as in the current fastening elements.
- More specifically, the device of the invention consists of a flattened metal profile, designed to be fastened by screwing to the upright or subframe of the installation, and which includes a T-shaped appendage at the end thereof and face facing the frame of the door designed to pass through a narrowed slot provided in the frame of the door.
- In accordance with the essence of the invention, the main and flattened body includes at the end opposite the opening direction of the swing door a wing perpendicular to the main body, determining a support element that clasps the upright or subframe on the adjacent side face thereof, adapting thereto, and maintaining, as mentioned, the levelling of this piece, and consequently that of the frame that is fastened thereto in a tight manner.
- In accordance with another of the features of the invention, given that the wall will have a greater width than the frame of the door, it is intended that the space that is not covered by the frame, instead of having to be filled and smoothed with plaster, is finished directly with a plasterboard panel, for which the device shall include a second bent wing, which emerges from the face facing the frame of the door, in the area that is not affected by the same, such that said bend defines a screwing surface of the plasterboard strip in correspondence with the perimeter edge of said wall.
- The device thus described, in addition to being able to be manufactured with the levelling wing thereof on one side or the other, depending on the opening direction of the door, can also be manufactured in different widths, in accordance with the different standardised widths for the uprights, which are usually 70 or 46/48 mm wide, without ruling out any other measurement, as well as depending on whether the wall is to be obtained from single or double plasterboard panels on either side of the upright.
- The device thus described can have different lengths, since it is not necessary for it to extend along the entire length of the subframe, but only affects segments thereof, which can be distributed by means of several devices, in three or more strategic points of each upright, although the number of these, as mentioned, will depend on the length thereof and the size and weight of the door.
- An assembly system is achieved using this structure that saves a large amount of time, by constituting a self-levelling element that simplifies the assembly of the frame and also avoids having to apply and level plaster on the edges of the wall.
- As a complement to the description that will be provided herein, and for the purpose of helping to make the features of the invention more readily understandable, according to a preferred practical exemplary embodiment thereof, said description is accompanied by a set of drawings constituting an integral part thereof in which, by way of illustration and not limitation, the following is represented:
