Abstract

Telescopic handling system (100) for lateral sliding shields, comprising a chain, or tank track, composed of a plurality of first elements (101) and second elements (102), alternately arranged and interconnected, configured to slide relative to one another between a first open position and a second closed position.

Description

  • The present invention is related to a telescopic handling system for lateral sliding shields, equipped with a bottom carriage guide, of the type used for moving a screen or a mosquito net installed in a door or window opening, and particularly for moving a shield in which the width is greater than the height.
  • Different types of shields or mosquito net are known, preferably of the laterally sliding type, comprising a floor-mounted guide, a bin laterally fixed to the opening to be screened and in which a shielding panel or mosquito net is collected, an upper horizontal guide accommodating the edges of the shield to prevent transverse displacement, and a handlebar for manual movement.
  • However, the handling systems for shield known in the art, particularly for laterally sliding nets with a bottom chain-type mechanism, require that the height of the screen always be greater than its width. This requirement is necessary in order to allow the lower chain to be housed within the handle bar, i.e., the vertical profile by which the screen is moved and which typically has a height approximately equal to the height of the screen itself.
  • The aim of the present invention is to provide a handling system for lateral sliding shields which allows installation on particularly wide openings, in which the screen width exceeds the height of the screen itself.
  • According to the present invention, a telescopic handling system for lateral sliding shields in provided, as defined in claim 1.
  • For a better understanding of the present invention, a preferred embodiment is now described as non-limiting embodiment, with reference to the attached drawings, in which:
    • Figures 1.a-1.d show schematic side and perspective views of the telescopic handling system in the open and closed positions, respectively, according to the invention;
    • Figures 2.a-2.b show top views of the lower chain mechanism in the open and closed positions, respectively, according to the invention;
    • Figures 3.a-3.b show schematic front and detail views of handling system according to prior art;
    • Figures 4.a-4.b show a front view and a detail view of the handling system according to the prior art;
    • Figure 5 shows a side and perspective view of a first element of the handling system, according to the invention;
    • Figure 6 shows a side and perspective view of a second element of the handling system according to the invention;
    • Figure 7 shows schematic views of an initial and terminal element of the handling system according to the invention.
  • With reference to these figures, a telescoping handling system for lateral sliding shields according to the invention is shown.
  • Particularly, figure 1 shows a telescopic handling system 100 comprising a chain or lower tank formed by a plurality of interconnected tank elements.
  • Specifically, the system 100 includes a chain formed by an alternating sequence of first elements 101 and second elements 102, which are interconnected and configured to slide with respect to each other between a first open position, shown in Figure 1.a, and a second closed position shown in Figure 1.b.
  • The chain of first elements 101 and second elements 102 includes an initial element 110 and a terminal element 111 at its respective ends.
  • Each first element 101 comprises:
    • on its upper surface, a first groove 101a, or slot;
    • two first protrusions 101c and 101d, substantially planar, each having a second groove 101b on a lateral surface perpendicular to the upper surface.
  • Each second element 102 comprises, on its upper surface, a groove 102a and two second lateral protrusions 102c and 102d, housed on a lateral surface orthogonal to said upper surface of the second element 102, configured to slide within the second grooves 101b of the first protrusions 101c, 101d of an adjacent first element 101, such that the second element 102 may be received inside the contiguous first element 101 in the closed position, as illustrated in Figure 2.
  • In use, the system 100 allows for the movement of a screen whose width exceeds its height, once installed within a profile, as the first and second elements 101, 102 forming the chain are able to collapse telescopically, effectively reducing the total length of the chain when it is retracted into the handle bar, i.e., when the screen is fully retracted into the profile of the bin.
  • The relative sliding movement of elements 101, 102 that form the chain, is guided by a cam track system, such that the telescopic motion is controlled and guided.
  • The handling system 100 may be used in connection with a laterally sliding screen, which itself forms part of the invention, and comprises:
    • a vertically oriented lateral bin housing the screen or mesh;
    • a vertical closing profile fixed to the frame, against which the screen locks when fully extended from the bin profile;
    • a lower mobile chain or trolley, formed by a plurality of interconnected first and second elements 101, 102, to which the lower edge of the mesh opposite the upper fixed edge is secured;
    • a handle bar, vertically aligned and parallel to the bin, allowing the user to laterally move the mesh from the bin toward the closing profile.
  • Figure 3 shows that, according to the prior art, when the screen is closed, i.e., fully extended from the profile of the bin, the chain or tank is almost entirely outside the handle bar or sliding profile.
  • Figure 4 shows the position of the chain within the handle bar when the screen is fully open, i.e., retracted into the profile of the bin. It is evident that in the prior art the height of the handle bar imposes a limit on the length of the chain and, consequently, on the width of the screen.
  • According to one aspect of the invention, each first element 101 comprises, on each end perpendicular to the upper surface, at least one pair of parallel first protrusions 103 separated by a recess, each having a substantially planar surface and a substantially curved lower edge.
  • According to an aspect of the invention, each second element 102 comprises a hollow portion 104 into which at least one pair of protrusions 103 of a first element 101 is inserted when said first and second elements are linked.
  • According to a further aspect of the invention, the hollow portion 104 includes at least one stop element 105 configured to block horizontal sliding and promote rotational movement of the chain in the closed position.
  • Advantageously, the first and second elements 101 and 102, due to the guide formed by the hollow portion 104 containing the stop element 105 and the at least one pair of curved protrusions 103, allow smoother transition between horizontal and vertical positions.
  • Additionally, the at least one pair of substantially curved protrusions 103 allows relative rotation between the first elements 101 and second elements 102 during insertion into the handle bar, while preventing reverse rotation, thereby avoiding detachment of the chain.
  • The system according to the invention advantageously overcomes the limitations of the prior art by enabling the reduction of the chain length when it is stored in the handle bar and allowing for full extension during use.
  • It is clear that modifications and variations can be made to the telescopic movement system for lateral sliding screens described and illustrated here without departing from the scope of the present invention, as defined in the attached claims.

Claims (8)

  1. Telescopic handling system (100) for lateral sliding shields comprising a chain, or tank, composed of a plurality of first elements (101) and second elements (102), alternately arranged and interconnected, configured to slide relative to one another between a first open position and a second closed position,
    characterized in that:
    each first element of the plurality of first elements (101) comprises:
    - on its upper surface, at least one first groove (101a) ;
    - two first protrusions (101c, 101d), substantially flat, each having a second groove (101b) on a lateral surface, orthogonal to the upper surface of the first element (101), and in that
    each second element of the plurality of second elements (102) comprises:
    - on its upper surface, at least one second groove (102a); and
    - two second lateral protrusions (102c, 102d) positioned on the two lateral surfaces orthogonal to the upper surface of the second element (102), configured to slide within each second groove (101b) of the two first protrusions (101c, 101d).
  2. System (100) according to claim 1, characterized in that said first and second elements (101, 102) forming the chain are configured to retract telescopically, reducing the total length of the chain when it is retracted within the handle bar, i.e. when the screen is fully wound into the profile of the bin.
  3. System (100) according to claim 1, characterized in comprising a cam guide for the mutual sliding of the first and second elements (101, 102) forming the chain.
  4. System (100) according to claim 1, characterized in that said first elements (101) comprise, at the ends orthogonal to the upper surface, at least one pair of first protrusions (103), parallel to one another and separated by a recess, each having a substantially flat surface and a substantially curved lower edge.
  5. System (100) according to claim 1, characterized in that each second element (102) comprises a hollow portion (104) configured to house the at least one pair of protrusions (103) when a first element (101) is linked to a second element (102).
  6. System (100) according to claim 1, characterized in that the hollow portion (104) comprises at least one stop element (105) configured to block horizontal sliding and to facilitate the rotation of the chain in the closed position.
  7. Lateral sliding shielding comprising the system (100) according to any one of the preceding claims.
  8. Lateral sliding shielding according to claim 7, characterized in comprising:
    - a side bin, arranged laterally and vertically, to which a mesh or screen is fixed;
    - a vertical closing profile fixed to the vertical wall of the window or door frame, to which the screen is applied and which serves to lock the mesh during its extension from the side bin;
    - the chain, or lower mobile carriage, formed by a plurality of first and second elements (101, 102) interconnected with one another, said chain further comprising an initial element (110) and a terminal element (111), to which a second lower portion of the mesh is attached, opposite to the first portion;
    - a handle bar, parallel to the side bin, lateral and vertical, configured to allow the mesh to slide laterally, extracting it from the interior of the side bin and stopping it against the vertical profile.
