Description

Connecting element for a dry-construction structure, arrangement of a dry-construction structure and method of fastening wall or ceiling components
Connecting element for a dry-construction structure, arrangement of a dry-construction structure and method of fastening wall or ceiling components
The invention relates to a connecting element for a dry-construction structure with a first fastening section for connecting to a beam, with a second fastening section for connecting to a wall or ceiling component, and with a spring section arranged between the first and second fastening sections. The invention further relates to an arrangement of a dry-construction structure with such a connecting element, as well as a method of fastening wall or ceiling components.
Dry-construction structures comprise beams or studs to which wall or ceiling components are fastened. With the above-mentioned connecting element, a vibration-decoupled fastening of wall or ceiling components to the beams or studs can be achieved. In this way, a significant improvement of the sound insulation in a building can be achieved. This applies in particular to dry-construction structures with a beam made of wood, but also to beams made of other materials, such as metal.
The vibration-decoupled fastening of ceiling components is known. Different connecting elements have been proposed for this purpose.
US 2007/294972 A describes various designs for the resilient suspension of ceiling components. The proposed connecting elements have two fastening sections between which a resilient section is provided.
KR 20130125253 A describes another spring for insulating vibrations of a ceiling or floor. The spring also has two fastening sections between which a resilient section is provided.
Another connecting element for a ceiling is known from JP 2002294921 A2. It is an object of the invention to provide an improved connecting element for a dry-construction structure that allows to obtain good sound insulation while being easy to assemble. It is further an object of the invention to provide an arrangement of a dry-construction structure as well as a method of building a dry-construction structure which enable a good sound insulation with a simple assembly.
The object is solved by a connecting element having the characteristics of claim 1 . Accordingly, a connecting element for a dry-construction structure is provided, with a first fastening section for connecting to a beam, with a second fastening section for connecting to a wall or ceiling component, with a spring section arranged between the first and second fastening sections, and with a support section provided between the second fastening section and the spring section, wherein the second fastening section, the support section and the spring section are arranged in such a way that a space for at least partially accommodating a fastening means is formed between the second fastening section and the spring section.
In this way, a particularly simple assembly can be achieved. Due to the design of the connecting element with the space for at least partially accommodating a fastening means between the second fastening section, the support section and the spring section, the wall or ceiling component can be connected to the second fastening section particularly easily. In this case, the fastening means can be inserted through the wall or ceiling component and through the second fastening section, for example. The space for at least partial accommodation of the fastening means allows an inwardly projecting section of the fastening means to be accommodated and prevents interference with the vibration decoupling achieved by the spring section. This allows, in particular, to obtain good sound insulation with good mountability. In particular, the sound reduction index R according to the ISO 10140-2:2021 -09 standard and the weighted sound reduction index Rw according to the ISO 717-1 :2021 -05 standard of a dry-construction structure, such as in particular a wall or ceiling, the standard impact sound level Ln according to the ISO 10140-3:2021 -09 standard and the weighted standard impact sound level Ln,w according to the ISO 717-2:2021 -05 standard of a dry-construction structure, such as in particular a ceiling, can be substantially improved. Furthermore, the claimed connecting element can thereby facilitate assembly by allowing dry-construction structures, such as walls or ceilings, to be pre-assembled with particular ease and to be stored and transported in the pre-assembled state. The connecting element is particularly suitable for dry-construction structures with elastically movable mounted components. In the case of a ceiling, the elastically movable components can also be arranged suspended. The fact that the connecting element can abut against the beam with the first fastening section in a flush-mounted and friction-locked manner also contributes to simple assembly, wherein fastening can be carried out with fastening means suitable for the material of the beam.
A preferred embodiment of the invention provides that the second fastening section, the support section and the spring section delimit the space on three sides. This allows, in particular, to obtain good sound insulation with good mountability. It can be provided that the space in the installed position of the connecting element is delimited downwardly by the second fastening section, upwardly by the spring section, and on a side facing the beam by the support section. In this installation position, the connecting element is particularly suitable for a ceiling structure.
An advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the spring section and the second fastening section extend in the same direction from the support section. In particular, the spring section and the second fastening section can extend away from the support section in a direction away from the beam. It is preferred if the spring section and the second fastening section each extend in the same direction by a multiple of a material thickness (in particular, if a metal sheet is used, a sheet thickness) of the connecting element. This allows, in particular, to obtain good sound insulation with good mountability.
A preferred embodiment provides that the second fastening section is angled away from the support section in a direction away from the beam.
According to the invention, it is particularly preferred if the first fastening section is arranged in a first plane and the second fastening section is arranged in a second plane, wherein the first plane is arranged at a right angle to the second plane. Furthermore, it can be provided in an advantageous manner that the support section is arranged in the first plane. This allows, in particular, to obtain good sound insulation with good mountability.
An advantageous embodiment provides that the second fastening section is arranged horizontally in the mounting position of the connecting element. This is particularly advantageous when used in a ceiling structure.
Preferably, the first fastening section and/or the support section is arranged perpendicular to the wall or ceiling component in the mounting position of the connecting element. Another advantageous embodiment provides that the second fastening section is arranged vertically in the mounting position of the connecting element. Preferably, the first fastening section and/or the support section is arranged perpendicularly in the mounting position of the connecting element. This is particularly advantageous when used in a wall structure.
A further improvement can be achieved by the support section having a contact surface for supportive abutment against the beam. Preferably, the contact surface is designed as a sliding surface. For this purpose, the contact surface can have a smooth surface. This contributes to the fact that the ceiling panel can perform a swinging movement, wherein sound insulation is improved. It also improves stability.
A preferred embodiment provides that the spring section has a first region connected to the first fastening section and a second region connected to the second fastening section, wherein a deformation region of the spring is formed between the first and second regions. Preferably, the first and second regions are formed straight. Preferably, the deformation region is formed curved and/or bent.
According to the invention, it is preferred that the spring section forms a spacing between the first and second regions so that the first and second regions can be moved towards each other by a spring deflection when the spring section is deflected. It is preferred if the spacing is provided in such a way that, when the spring section is deflected, the first and second regions can be moved toward each other by a spring deflection without the first and second sections contacting each other. Preferably, the length of the spring deflection by which the first and second regions can be moved towards each other during deflection is between 2 mm and 20 mm.
Furthermore, it can be advantageously provided that the first region is arranged at an angle to the first fastening section and the second region is arranged at an angle to the support section.
According to the invention, it can further be provided that the connecting element comprises a body which integrally forms the first fastening section, the second fastening section, the spring section, and the support section.
In this regard, it can be advantageously provided that the body has a continuous, formed strip of material which forms the first fastening section, the second fastening section, the support section, and the spring section. Preferably, the formed strip of material is a formed metal strip of sheet steel.
Preferably, the sheet steel is hot-dip coated. In particular, the sheet steel can be galvanized, e.g. according to DIN EN 10346:2015-10.
According to the invention, it is preferred that the material thickness of the strip of material is between 0.4 mm and 1 .5 mm. Preferably, the material thickness is between 0.5 mm and 0.7 mm.
According to the invention, it can be provided for the first and/or the second fastening section to have reinforcing beads.
Preferably, the strip of material is made of steel according to DIN EN 10132:2022-04.
Furthermore, it is preferred that the strip of material is made of spring steel.
An advantageous embodiment provides that the first and/or the second fastening section comprises at least one through-opening for a fastening means.
A preferred embodiment provides that the second connecting section has a bent edge at its free end. This helps to stiffen the second connecting section and facilitates assembly.
Preferably, the length of the support section between the second connecting section and the spring section is more than 10 mm and especially preferably more than 20 mm. Furthermore, it is preferred if the aforementioned length of the support section is less than 40 mm and particularly preferred less than 35 mm. In this way, the space for at least partial accommodation of a fastening means is given a height that allows easy and safe assembly.
Preferably, the connecting element is designed as a dry-construction hanger. In particular, the connecting element can be designed as a dry-construction direct hanger or dry-construction direct swing hanger. Preferably, the connecting element is designed as a decoupling element.
The resilient property of the connecting element can be adjusted depending on the application. For this purpose, one or more of the following features of the connecting element can be adapted: the material thickness of the connecting element, the width of the connecting element, the material of the connecting element, the size of the deformation region of the spring section, the length of the first region, the length of the second region. With these measures, the spring rate of the connecting element can be adjusted. In addition, an adjustment of the resilient characteristics can be achieved for an arrangement by the number of connecting elements provided per unit length. This allows flexible adaptation to different conditions.
The object of to the invention is further solved by an arrangement of a dry-construction structure comprising a wall or ceiling component and at least one connecting element of the type described, wherein the at least one connecting element is connected to at least one wall or ceiling component via the second fastening section. Such arrangements can also be preassembled (e.g. at the factory) and then transported to the construction site and installed as a pre-assembled unit. The claimed design thereby also advantageously enables transport and/or storage of multiple pre-assembled arrangements in stacked form. Furthermore, the claimed connecting element can be used to facilitate assembly by allowing dry-construction structures, such as walls or ceilings, to be pre-assembled.
According to the invention, it can be provided that the wall or ceiling component is a ceiling component.
According to the invention, it can be provided that the wall or ceiling component is a wall component.
According to the invention, it can be provided that the arrangement comprises at least one beam and that the connecting element is connected to the beam via the first fastening section.
Advantageously, first fastening means can be provided that are inserted into the beam through the first fastening section. In particular, the first fastening means can have an elongated body. In a preferred manner, the first fastening means are screws, nails or staples. Preferably, the first fastening means are arranged with their elongated body parallel to the wall or ceiling component in the installation position.
One advantageous embodiment provides that the arrangement comprises second fastening means inserted in the wall or ceiling component and extending through the second fastening section into the space of the connecting element. The second fastening means connect the wall or ceiling component to the second fastening section. In particular, the second fastening means can have an elongated body. In a preferred manner, the fastening means are screws, nails or staples. Preferably, the second fastening means are arranged with their elongated body perpendicular in the installation position. A preferred embodiment provides that the arrangement comprises multiple beams arranged parallel to each other.
Preferably, the beam is designed as a wall beam or ceiling beam.
Furthermore, it can be provided in a preferred manner that the beam is arranged horizontally. In this case, the arrangement is particularly suitable for a ceiling structure.
Furthermore, it can be provided in a preferred manner that the beam is arranged vertically. In this case, the arrangement is particularly suitable for a wall structure.
In particular, the beam can be a supporting beam or stud made of wood. One of the advantages of using a wooden support beam or stud is that it can be connected to the first fastening element particularly easily by means of hammered-in fastening means, such as nails or staples.
However, screws or other suitable fastening means can also be used for the connection.
Furthermore, in a preferred manner, the ceiling component can comprise a ceiling panel. It can be provided that the ceiling panel is directly attached to the second fastening section.
Another preferred embodiment provides that the wall or ceiling component comprises a fastening bar. One or more ceiling panels or wall panels can be attached to the fastening bar. The use for ceilings with ceiling panels is particularly advantageous.
Preferably, the fastening bar is made of wood. This also contributes to an easy assembly and facilitates the use of hammered-in fastening means. This also applies in particular to prefabricated arrangements.
A preferred embodiment provides that the beam and the fastening bar are arranged parallel to each other.
According to the invention, it can further be provided that the arrangement forms at least one pre-assembled wall or ceiling unit comprising at least two of the beams, at least one wall or ceiling component and a plurality of the connecting elements, wherein the connecting elements are each connected to one of the beams via the first fastening section and to the wall or ceiling component via the second fastening section. For example, a pre-assembled ceiling unit can be created in a factory and then be transported to the construction site and installed. A preferred embodiment provides that a bearing surface is provided on a side of the ceiling component facing the beam which abuts the beam in the deflected state of the spring section. This makes storage and transport of the arrangement much easier, as the weight of the preassembled ceiling unit or wall unit is absorbed by the bearing surface. In this way, the spring elements can be protected so that they are not deformed in an impermissible manner during storage.
As a further development of this inventive idea, it can be provided that the bearing surface forms a stop which limits the deformation of the spring section in the compression direction.
Furthermore, it can be provided that for transport and/or storage, several of the pre-assembled ceiling units or wall units are stacked on top of each other, wherein the spring sections of at least part of the connecting elements are compressed to such an extent that the bearing surface rests against the beam. This facilitates assembly and contributes to reduced transport costs.
An advantageous embodiment provides that the arrangement comprises a clearance path for the wall or ceiling component so that, when the wall or ceiling component is held by the connecting element, the wall or ceiling component is resiliently movable under the action of the spring section. In particular, the clearance path can be formed between the beam and the ceiling component. Preferably, the clearance path is more than 3 mm and especially preferably more than 5 mm. Preferably, the clearance path is less than 20 mm and especially preferably less than 1 1 mm. The clearance path can preferably be formed by a space between the beam and the stop. Preferably, the connecting element is designed in such a way that the maximum spring deflection is more than twice (especially preferably more than three times) the clearance path.
Advantageously, it can be provided that the wall or ceiling panels are selected from the group consisting of gypsum boards, gypsum fiber boards, cement boards, fiber cement boards, wood fiber boards and chipboard panels. Gypsum boards are particularly preferred.
An advantageous embodiment provides that the wall or ceiling panels have a material thickness between 7 mm and 25 mm (preferably more than 9 mm; preferably less than 16 mm).
Furthermore, it can be provided that the wall or ceiling panels are arranged in one or two layers on the connecting element. The two-layer arrangement is also called double planking. In the latter, the second layer of wall or ceiling panels is arranged on the first layer. A preferred embodiment provides that the connecting element is used to achieve a swingingly movable suspension of the wall or ceiling component. In this way, acoustic decoupling can be achieved between the wall or ceiling component and the beam. Preferably, a horizontally and/or vertically swinging suspension is achieved with the connecting element.
Further, it can be provided in an advantageous manner that the arrangement comprises an insulating material arranged between the beams. This further improves the sound insulation. The insulating material can take the form of a fiber material, for example. In this case, the insulating material can also be located in the space of the connecting element, as it does not hinder the insertion of fastening elements into the space. Preferred insulation materials are glass wool or rock wool.
The invention further relates to a method of suspending ceiling components, wherein a ceiling component is fastened to a beam by means of a connecting element of the type described.
Further goals, characteristics, advantages and application possibilities of this invention result from the following description of exemplary embodiments based on the drawings. Figures 1 to 4 show a connecting element 1 for a wall or ceiling structure. The connecting element 1 is shown in perspective from different angles in Figures 1, 3 and 4. Figure 2 shows a side view of the connecting element 1 .
The connecting element 1 has a first fastening section 2 for connecting to a beam and a second fastening section 3 for connecting to a wall component or a suspended ceiling component. Further, the connecting element 1 comprises a spring section 4 arranged between the first and second fastening sections 2, 3. In addition, the connecting element 1 has a support section 5 arranged between the second fastening section 3 and the spring section 4.
The second fastening section 3, the spring section 4 and the support section 5 are arranged in such a way that a space 6 is formed between the second fastening section 3 and the spring section 4 for at least partially accommodating a fastening means.
Figures 1 to 4 show that the second fastening section 3, the support section 5 and the spring section 4 delimit the space 6 on three sides. Figure 2 shows the connecting element 1 in its intended installation position for a dry-construction structure. In this, the space 6 is delimited downwardly by the second fastening section 3, upwardly by the spring section 4, and on a side facing the beam by the support section 5.
The spring section 4 and the second fastening section 3 point in the same direction from the support section 5, namely in a direction away from the beam.
Figures 1 to 4 further show that the first fastening section 2 is arranged in a first plane and that the second fastening section 3 is arranged in a second plane. The first plane is arranged at a right angle to the second plane. The support section 5 is coplanar with the first fastening section 2 and thus arranged in the first plane. In the mounting position (installation position) of the connecting element for a ceiling structure shown in Figure 2, the second fastening section 3 is arranged horizontally, while the first fastening section 2 and the support section 5 are arranged vertically.
The support section 5 has a contact surface 7 for supporting abutment against the beam. In the exemplary embodiment shown, the contact surface 7 has a smooth surface and forms a sliding surface. This facilitates a vertically swinging movement of the second fastening section 3 with the wall or ceiling component attached thereto to the first fastening section 2.
In the depicted exemplary embodiment, the spring section 4 has a first region 8 connected to the first fastening section 2. A second region 9 of the spring section 4 is connected to the support section 5. A deformation region 10 of the spring section 4 is formed between the first and second regions 8, 9. In the exemplary embodiment shown, it is designed as a curved section. The curved section has a region that is shaped as a segment of a circle.
The first region 8 is arranged at an angle to the first fastening section 2. The second region 9 is arranged at an angle to the second fastening section 3.
Figures 1 to 4 further show that the spring section 4 forms a spacing 1 1 between the first and second regions 8, 9 so that when the spring section 4 is deflected, the first and second regions 8, 9 can be moved towards each other without the first and second sections 8, 9 touching each other.
The second fastening section 3 has a bent edge 15 at its free end.
The connecting element 1 comprises a body 12 that integrally forms the first fastening section 2, the second fastening section 3, the spring section 4, and the support section 5. For this purpose, the body 12 is formed by a formed metal sheet. In this case, the body 12 has a continuously formed strip of material. In particular, the metal sheet can be made of a resilient steel.
The first and second fastening sections 2, 3 may have openings for fastening means that are not shown. However, it is also possible to use fastening means, such as self-tapping screws, which create a corresponding opening during assembly.
Figures 5 and 6 show another embodiment of a connecting element 1 '. This is essentially the same as the embodiment shown in Figures 1 to 4. Therefore, the same reference signs are used for Figures 5 and 6. Insofar as there are no significant differences, the description for Figures 1 to 4 should also apply accordingly to Figures 5 and 6.
The connecting element 1 ' shown in Figures 5 and 6 again has a first fastening section 2, a second fastening section 3, a spring section 4, and a support section 5. Unlike the connecting element 1 , the second fastening section 3 has reinforcing beads 13. In the exemplary embodiment shown, three reinforcing beads 13 are provided. The reinforcing beads 13 each have a longitudinal direction that is parallel to the bending line between the second fastening section 3 and the support section 5.
Figure 7 shows a schematic section of an arrangement of a wall or ceiling structure created in dry construction. The invention is explained by way of example using a ceiling structure. However, a wall structure can also be created in a corresponding manner.
The arrangement shown in Figure 7 comprises several of the connecting elements 1 or 1 '. Figure 7 shows the connecting elements 1 of Figures 1 to 4. Figure 7 further shows a ceiling component 16. It is formed as a ceiling panel.
In an embodiment as a wall structure, a wall component, such as in particular a wall panel, is used instead of a ceiling component. Also shown are two beams 17, which are formed as ceiling beams. In an embodiment as a wall structure, the beams 17 are formed as wall supports.
The first fastening sections 2 of the connecting elements 1 are each connected to the beams 17 via first fastening means 18. The second fastening sections 3 are each connected to the ceiling component 16 via second fastening means 19. In the exemplary embodiment of Figure 7, both the first and second fastening means 18, 19 are depicted as screws.
The beams 17 can be made of different materials. In particular, the beams 7 can be formed as wooden beams.
The beams 17 are arranged parallel to each other. The beams 17 each have side surfaces 20 against which the first fastening section 2 and the support section 5 flatly abut.
The ceiling component 16 can be designed in particular as at least one ceiling panel. In particular, the ceiling panel can be a gypsum plasterboard, a fiber cement board, a wood fiber board or a chipboard panel. However, panels made of other suitable materials can also be used. Figure 8 shows a side view of the arrangement in Figure 7. Unlike in the simplified Figure 7, in Figure 8 it is shown by corresponding hatching that the beams 17 can be made of wood. The first and second fastening means 18, 19 are also clearly visible in Figure 8.
Figure 8 further shows that the space remaining between the beams 17 can be completely or partially filled with an insulating material 21 . In particular, this material can contain fibers, such as rock wool, glass wool or the like. The correspondingly soft insulating material 21 can also be arranged in the space 6 in this case, since it does not impede the penetration of the second fastening means 19.
Figure 8 further shows that the arrangement includes a clearance path 22 for the ceiling component 16. When the ceiling component 16 is held by the connecting elements 1 as shown in Figure 8, the ceiling component 16 is movable under the action of the spring section 4. This allows the ceiling component 16 to be moved in a swinging manner relative to the beam 17. In this way, the connecting element 1 has a decoupling effect and significantly reduces sound transmission. As shown, the clearance path 22 is formed between the beam 17 and the ceiling component 16.
In the depicted exemplary embodiment, the ceiling panels are fastened to the connecting element 1 in one layer. However, the ceiling panels can also be provided in two layers on the connecting element 1 .
Figure 9 shows another embodiment of a wall or ceiling arrangement. In this one, the wall or ceiling component 16 comprises bars 23. The bars 23 are arranged below the connecting element 1 and are provided parallel to the beams 17. Wall or ceiling panels 24 are fastened to the bars 23. Figure 9 also shows the clearance path 22 formed between the wall or ceiling panels 24 and the beam 17.
The bar 23 can be made of various suitable materials. In the depicted exemplary embodiment, the bar 23 is made of wood. This facilitates assembly, since third fastening means 25, which are formed as fastening clips or fastening nails, can then also be used to fasten the wall or ceiling panel 24. In Figure 9, the third fastening means 25 are shown as fastening clips.
Figure 10 shows that the arrangement in Figure 9 can be formed as a pre-assembled wall or ceiling unit. It is possible, especially for storage and/or transport, to stack the arrangements of pre-assembled wall or ceiling units on top of each other. In the depicted exemplary embodiment, two arrangements stacked on top of each other are shown as examples. A bearing surface 26 is provided on the wall or ceiling panel 24, which bears against the beam 17 when the spring section 4 is in the deflected state. In this way, an increased weight force, such as occurs in particular in the lower of the arrangements shown in Figure 10 due to stacking, can be transmitted directly from the wall or ceiling panel 24 to the beam 17. In this case, the bearing surface 26 forms a stop which limits the deformation of the spring section 4 in the compression direction. In this way, excessive deformation or destruction of the spring section 4 during storage or transport is prevented. This is helped by the fact that the distance 1 1 of the spring section 4 is as large or larger than the clearance path 22.
The depicted design is particularly suitable for the manufacture of prefabricated houses, but it is not limited to this. Accordingly, the pre-assembled ceiling units can be provided in stacks and transported to the construction site, where they are then installed into the building.
Figure 11 corresponds largely to Figure 10. Again, two arrangements of a wall or ceiling structure stacked on top of each other are depicted. Figure 1 1 differs from Figure 10 only in that the arrangements of Figure 8 are shown stacked.
Figures 12a to 12c show the result of measurements of the sound reduction index according to ISO 10140-2:2021 -09 of dry-construction structures having the described connecting element 1 . Figure 12d shows a comparative measurement of the sound reduction index according to ISO 10140-2:2021 -09 of a corresponding dry-construction structure without the connecting element 1.
In each case, the measurements were performed on a dry-construction structure designed as a wood stud partition wall. The examined dry-construction structures each have beams made of solid structural timber with dimensions of 60 mm x 90 mm. The center-to-center distance of the beams is 625 mm each. The beams are planked on both sides as follows:
Figure 12a: Single-layer planking on both sides with wall or ceiling panels, designed as gypsum plasterboard, panel thickness 15 mm (Knauf Diamant product). On one side, the wall or ceiling panels are fastened to the beams laterally in an elastically movable manner using the connecting elements described (with dry-construction screws 3.9 mm x 35 mm). On the other side, the wall or ceiling panels are directly screwed to the beams. The center distance between the connecting elements is 500 mm. The fastening elements are mounted in such a way that there is a protrusion or clearance path of approx. 7 mm to the wood stud. The finished wall thickness is about 127 mm.
Figure 12b: Setup as described for Fig. 12a, but the planking on the side where the connecting elements are provided is double layered, i.e. with an additional planking layer of gypsum plasterboard (board thickness of the additional gypsum plasterboard 12.5 mm, product Knauf Diamant). The finished wall thickness is about 139.5 mm.
Figure 12c: Setup as described for Fig. 12a, but the planking is double layered on both sides with an additional planking layer of gypsum plasterboard (board thickness 12.5 mm, product Knauf Diamant). The finished wall thickness is about 152 mm.
Figure 12d: Setup as described for Fig. 12a, but without connecting elements on both sides. The wall or ceiling panels are directly screwed to the beam on both sides. The finished wall thickness is about 120 mm.
The space between the wood studs has been filled with insulation material (80 mm wood frame construction insulation roll type Knauf Insulation Naturoll D-035) in each of the structures according to Figures 12a to 12d.
Since the sound reduction index is a frequency-dependent parameter, Figures 12a to 12d each show the measurements in the evaluation range from 100 Hz to 3500 Hz. In order to capture the behavior of the tested design outside the evaluation range, the measurement was extended to the range from 50 to 5000 Hz. The measurements are based on test bench measurement results obtained in one-third octave bands.
Figures 12a to 12d each show the determined sound reduction index according to ISO 10140- 2:2021 -09. The graphs in Figures 12a to 12d each show the sound reduction index R as a measurement curve M in dB versus frequency. In addition, in the Figures in the evaluation range (frequency range between the dashed lines), the shifted reference values B are shown in accordance with ISO 717-1 .
The measured values evidence that a considerable improvement in the sound reduction index R can be achieved with the dry-construction structures using the connecting element according to the invention. This is already shown by the comparison between the measured values according to Figure 12a (with connecting element 1 ) and a corresponding dry-construction structure without connecting element according to Figure 12d. For example, in Figure 12d the sound reduction index at 500 Hz is about 37 dB, while in Figure 12a the sound reduction index of 60 dB is achieved at the same frequency. The differences are even more pronounced at a frequency of 1000 Hz. Here, the structure of Figure 12d achieves a sound reduction index R of 45 dB, while the structure according to Figure 12a reaches about 67 dB. For the weighted sound reduction index according to ISO 717-1 , the value for Figure 12d is Rw(C;Ctr) = 41.1 ( -2 ; -4 ) dB. In contrast, the weighted sound reduction index for Figure 12a is Rw(C;Ctr) = 55.2 ( -3 ; - 6 ) dB. This results in an improvement ARW of 14.1 dB. The measured values in Figures 12b and 12c show that double planking results in a further improvement in the sound reduction index. In Figure 12b, the wood stud wall is double-planked on one side, while in Figure 12c it is double-planked on both sides. In Figure 12b, a weighted sound reduction index Rw(C;Ctr) = 60.2 (-3 ; -7) dB is achieved. In Figure 12c, a weighted sound reduction index Rw(C;Ctr) = 65.6 (-2 ; -7) dB is achieved. Thus, Fig. 12b shows an improvement relative to the design in Fig. 12d of ARW of 19.1 dB. For Fig. 12c, the improvement ARW is
24.5 dB.
