It is described a parcel shelf (1) for a motor-vehicle, comprising a panel configured for covering at least partially a luggage compartment of a trunk (2) of the motor-vehicle and forming a shelf for supporting objects. The parcel shelf (1) comprises at least one pull-out table unit (6) integrated with the panel of the parcel shelf (1).

Field of the invention
The present invention refers to a parcel shelf for motor-vehicle comprising a panel configured for covering at least partially a luggage compartment of a trunk of a motor-vehicle and forming a shelf for supporting objects.
Object and summary of the invention
The object of the invention is to use the structure of the parcel shelf to achieve further advantageous technical functions, in addition to covering the luggage compartment and placing objects.
A further object of the invention is to achieve the aforementioned further functions by means of a parcel shelf that can be produced in a simple and economical way.
According to one or more embodiments, one or more of the above- mentioned objects are achieved through a parcel shelf for motor-vehicle having the features specifically set out in the following claims.
In particular, the invention has as its object a parcel shelf for a motorvehicle comprising a panel configured for covering at least partially a luggage compartment of a trunk of the motor-vehicle and forming a shelf for supporting objects, said parcel shelf being characterized in that it comprises at least one pull-out table unit integrated with the panel of the parcel shelf, wherein said pull-out table unit comprises at least one battery charger device for supplying energy to an electronic device equipped with a battery, such as for example smartphones or tablets, wherein said parcel shelf comprises a charger system integrated with the motor-vehicle on which the parcel shelf is mounted, arranged to charge the battery of said battery charger device when the table unit is integrated with the parcel shelf.

With reference to figure 1 , 1 generally indicates a parcel shelf mounted inside a trunk 2 of a passenger transport vehicle. The trunk 2
comprises, in a known manner, a luggage compartment which can be closed by means of a hatch (not shown).
The structure of the parcel shelf 1 comprises a panel configured for covering at least partially the luggage compartment and forming a shelf for supporting objects. With reference to the mounted configuration illustrated in figure 1 , the panel comprises an upper surface 3 extending from one side of the vehicle to the other, a lower surface 4 opposite to said upper surface 3 and a front surface 5 substantially perpendicular to the upper surface 3, which defines a front edge of the parcel shelf 1 facing the hatch in the closed, lowered position. The parcel shelf 1 comprises respective side support portions 22 mutually pivotally engaged on support pins 20 protruding into the luggage compartment from the sides of the vehicle, so as to allow the rotation of the parcel shelf 1 from a raised position to a lowered position, and vice versa, regarding the movement of the vehicle hatch.
According to the present invention, a pull-out table unit 6 is integrated with the panel structure of the parcel shelf 1 , with the aim of making available to the user an accessory that can be used both inside the vehicle and outside, for entertainment or for carry out work sessions with electronic devices such as tablets or laptops. As illustrated below, the table unit 6 is provided with a plurality of equipment to satisfy multiple needs.
Figures 1 -3 show a preferred embodiment of the pull-out table unit 6. It has a table top 7 of rectangular shape comprising two major sides 8 and two minor sides 9 defining respectively the length and width of the table top 7. Preferably, the table unit 6 is made of a lightweight and durable plastic material.
In the integrated condition within the panel structure of the parcel shelf 1 (figure 1 ), the table top 7 is parallelly arranged between the upper and lower surfaces 3, 4 of the parcel shelf 1 , and one of the longer sides 8 of the table unit 6 protrudes from the front surface 5 of the parcel shelf 1 . In this regard, the front surface 5 of the parcel shelf 1 can include an opening sized for enabling pulling out of the table unit 6 and its insertion into the parcel shelf 1 . In other words, in the integrated condition illustrated in figure 1 , the table unit 6 is mounted concealed within the parcel shelf 1 , making only one of the longer sides 8 visible through the aforementioned opening
and allowing the pulling out of the table unit 6. By means of a pull-out mechanism of any known type, the table unit 6 can be pulled out from the parcel shelf 1 to allow its use. In this regard, note that figure 1 illustrates the table unit 6 also in a condition pulled out from the parcel shelf 1 and in a configuration with folding support legs 10 in the unfolded position for ready use.
Note that the pull-out mechanism can comprise a push/pull type mechanism, an lead opening to proceed with the pulling out, a foldable handle, or a recess obtained on the panel of the parcel shelf 1 to allow the user to contact the table unit 6 and proceed with pulling out.
Figures 2, 3 illustrate a preferred embodiment of the table unit 6. As indicated previously, the table unit 6 is provided with a plurality of equipment to satisfy various needs.
In one or more embodiments, the table unit 6 comprises a battery charger device 11 for supplying energy to an electronic device equipped with a battery, such as for example smartphones or tablets. Preferably, the battery charger device 11 is rigidly connected to the table top 7, in particular along the lower surface of the surface 7, opposite to the table top.
In one or more embodiments, the table unit 6 comprises a photovoltaic panel 12 composed of photovoltaic cells capable of converting solar energy into electric energy to allow rapid and effective recharging of the battery charger device 11. Preferably, the photovoltaic panel 12 is rectangular in shape and is spaced close to a peripheral portion of the table top 7.
In one or more embodiments, the table unit 6 comprises a removable drawer 13 for storing various small objects. Preferably, in the open position, the drawer 13 protrudes from one of the smaller sides 9 of the table unit 6.
In one or more embodiments, the table unit 6 comprises a compartment 16 for placing a drink or a glass.
In one or more embodiments, the table unit 6 comprises a central slot 17 to allow easy transport of the table unit 6.
In one or more embodiments, the table unit 6 comprises a folding support structure 18 between a lowered position on the table 7 and a raised condition to allow the rest of an electronic device, for example a tablet.
In one or more embodiments, the table unit 6 comprises at least one loudspeaker, which can possibly be connected to the user’s smartphone.
In one or more embodiments, the table unit 6 comprises two folding support leg assemblies 10. Preferably, each assembly 10 comprises a pair of parallel and spaced legs 14, joined by a lower transverse connection element 15 suitable for connect the legs 14 to each other. Each leg 14 is articulatedly connected to a lower face 16 of the table unit 6, in particular along one of the smaller sides 6. The legs 14 can then be rotated between a closed position extended under the table top 7, and an open position to allow the lower ends of the legs 14 to rest on a table top. According to a preferred aspecy, the legs 14 can comprise a telescopic structure capable of varying the prominence with respect to the table top 7, in the open position.
In one or more embodiments, the parcel shelf 1 is arranged to accommodate a pair of side-by-side table units 6, along the panel of the parcel shelf 1 . Preferably, one of the two units 7 is arranged for use by an infant sitting in a high chair assembly fixed to the rear seat of the vehicle. In this regard, the colors, the material, as well as the accessories associated with the aforementioned unit 6, can be specifically configured for use by an infant. Preferably, such infant table unit 6 comprises a fastening strap (not shown) for securing the unit 6 to the high chair assembly, with the table top 7 extended in front of the infant seated in the high chair assembly.
According to a further aspect of the present invention, the parcel shelf 1 comprises a charger system integrated with the motor-vehicle on which the parcel shelf 1 is mounted, arranged to charge the battery of the battery charger device 11 associated with the pull-out table unit 6. This system is configured to charge the battery of the device 11 when the table unit 6 is integrated into the parcel shelf 1 , so that the user can find the device 11 promptly charged every time he needs to use of the table unit 6.
In one or more embodiments, the charger system comprises:
- at least one electric power source E present on board the vehicle, electrically connected with sliding electric contacts 19 integrated on the outer surface of one of the support pins 20 adapted for supporting the parcel shelf 1 above the luggage compartment;
- electric contacts 21 integrated with a support portion 22 integrated with the parcel shelf 1 adapted for being mutually engaged with the support pin 20 equipped with sliding electric contacts 19;
- an electric connector device 23 electrically connected to said electric contacts 21 , wherein the electric connector device 23 comprises a first connector element 23’ carried by the parcel shelf 1 and a second connector element 23” carried by the table unit 6,
- wherein the second connector element 23” is electrically connected to the battery charger device 11 associated with the table unit 6.
Figures 4-9 illustrate different features of the charger system as described above, according to a preferred embodiment.
Figure 4 is an enlarged scale sectional view showing the parcel shelf 1 engaged on one of the support pins 20 and the table unit 6 in the inserted position within the parcel shelf 1 . In a per se known manner, the parcel shelf 1 comprises respective side support portions 22 mutually pivotally engaged on the support pins 20, so as to allow the rotation of the parcel shelf 1 from a raised position to a lowered position, and vice versa, in relation to the movement of the vehicle hatch.
As illustrated in figures 5, 6, one of the support pins 20 is equipped along its outer surface with a pair of sliding electric contacts 19, electrically connected via electric connection cables 24 to an electric power source E. In this regard, in the figure 6, the electric power source E is indicated in an extremely schematic way, since it can be present on board the vehicle according to various possibilities fully known to those skilled in the art. The sectional view of the support pin 20 of Figure 6 shows the end parts of the electric connection cables 24 electrically connected to the sliding contacts 19.
Figure 7 is an enlarged scale view showing one of the side support portions 22 engaged on the pin 20 equipped with sliding electric contacts 19. Inside a part of the support portion 22 that adheres against the sliding electric contacts 19, two electric contacts 21 are provided, which are therefore electrically in contact with the sliding contacts 21.
Observing the sectional view of figure 4, note that the electric contacts 21 are electrically connected to the electric connector device 23, by means of at least one electric connection wire 25.
As indicated previously, the electric connector device 23 comprises a first connector element 23’ carried by the parcel shelf 1 (figure 8) and a second connector element 23” (figure 9) carried by the table unit 6. In use, when the table unit 6 must be pulled out from the parcel shelf 1 , the user disconnects the second connector element 23” from the first connector element. Conversely, by inserting the table unit 6 again into the parcel shelf
I , the user will have to connect the two connector elements 23’, 23” to activate the electric charging circuit.
With reference to the perspective view of figure 9, note that the second connector element 23” is supported along one of the smaller sides of the table unit 6, in particular along a vertical inner surface forming one of the side walls relating to the smaller side. A terminal electric wire 26 connects the second connector element 23” to the battery charger device

Thanks to the features described above, the charger system is configured to charge the battery of the device 11 when the table unit 6 is integrated with the parcel shelf 1 , so that the user can find the device 11 always charged whenever he needs to use of the table unit 6.
Of course, the electric connection and the regulation of the voltage between the various electric components described above can be achieved in any known way, for example by providing a voltage regulator module of a known type.
Of course, without notwithstanding the principle of the invention, the construction details and the embodiments may vary with respect to what has been described and illustrated purely by way of example, without thereby departing from the scope of the present invention as defined in the attached claims. This applies both to the shape of the table unit and to the appearance of the parcel shelf with which it is associated.
Claims
1. Parcel shelf (1 ) for a motor-vehicle comprising a panel configured for covering at least partially a luggage compartment of a trunk (2) of the motor-vehicle and forming a shelf for supporting objects, said parcel shelf (1 ) being characterized in that it comprises at least one pull-out table unit (6) integrated with the panel of the parcel shelf (1 ), wherein said pull-out table unit (6) comprises at least one battery charger device (11 ) for supplying energy to an electronic device equipped with a battery, such as for example smartphones or tablets, wherein said parcel shelf (1 ) comprises a charger system integrated with the motor-vehicle on which the parcel shelf

- sliding electric contacts (19) formed on the outer surface of a support pin (20) adapted for supporting the parcel shelf (1 ) above the luggage compartment of the vehicle, wherein said sliding electric contacts (19) are configured for electric connection with at least one electric power source (E) present on board the vehicle,
- electric contacts (21 ) integrated with a side support portion (22) of the parcel shelf (1 ), adapted for being mutually engaged with the support pin (20) equipped with sliding electric contacts (19),
- an electric connector device (23) electrically connected to said electric contacts (21 ), wherein the electric connector device (23) comprises a first connector element (23’) carried by the parcel shelf (1 ) and a second connector element (23”) carried by the table unit (6),
- wherein the second connector element (23”) is electrically connected to the battery charger device (11 ) associated with the table unit (6).
3. Parcel shelf (1 ) according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that said pull-out table unit (6) comprises a table top (7) parallelly arranged between an upper surface (3) and a lower surface (4) of the parcel shelf (1 ).
4. Parcel shelf (1 ) according to claim 3, comprising a front surface (5) on which is formed at least one opening sized for enabling pulling of the table unit (6) from the panel.
5. Parcel shelf (1 ) according to claim 4, comprising a pull-out mechanism for pulling-out the table unit (6) from the panel.
6. Parcel shelf (1 ) according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that said pull-out table unit (6) comprises a photovoltaic panel (12) and/or a removable drawer (13) and/or a slot (17) configured to allow the gripping of the table unit (6) and/or a folding support structure (18) and/or a loudspeaker.
7. Parcel shelf (1 ) according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that said pull-out table unit (6) comprises two folding support leg assemblies (10).
8. Parcel shelf (1 ) according to any of the preceding claims, comprising a pair of pull-out table units (6) placed side by side.
9. Motor-vehicle comprising a parcel shelf (1 ) having a panel configured for covering at least partially a luggage compartment of a trunk (2) of the motor-vehicle and forming a shelf for supporting objects, wherein said parcel shelf (1 ) comprises at least one pull-out table unit (6) integrated with the panel of the parcel shelf (1 ), wherein said pull-out table unit (6) comprises at least one battery charger device (11 ) for supplying energy to an electronic device equipped with a battery, such as for example smartphones or tablets, wherein said motor-vehicle comprises a charger system associated with the parcel shelf (1 ), arranged to charge the battery of said battery charger device (11 ) when the table unit (6) is integrated with the parcel shelf (1 ).
10. Motor-vehicle according to claim 9, wherein said charger system comprises:
- at least one electric power source (E) electrically connected with sliding electric contacts (19) formed on the outer surface of a support pin (20) adapted for supporting the parcel shelf (1 ) above the luggage compartment of the vehicle,
- electric contacts (21 ) integrated with a support portion (22) integrated with the parcel shelf (1 ) adapted for being mutually engaged with the support pin (20) equipped with sliding electric contacts (19),
- an electric connector device (23) electrically connected to said electric contacts (21 ), wherein the electric connector device (23) comprises a first connector element (23’) carried by the parcel shelf (1) and a second connector element (23”) carried by the table unit (6), - wherein the second connector element (23”) is electrically connected to the battery charger device (11 ) associated with the table unit (6).
