Description

    CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS
  • The present disclosure is provided based on Chinese Patent Application No. 202223564141.5 filed on December 30, 2022 , and claims priority to the above Chinese Patent Application. The entire content of the above-referenced applications is incorporated herein by reference.
  • FIELD
  • The present disclosure relates to the field of wire harness connection technologies, and specifically, to a connector, a connector assembly, and a vehicle.
  • BACKGROUND
  • A lever (pull rod) connector assembly usually includes a first housing (female housing), a second housing (male housing), and a pull rod, where a lever is pivotally connected to a housing by a pivot mechanism, and the lever has a primary locking position (pre-locking position) and a secondary locking position (locking position) relative to the housing. When the female housing is assembled to the male housing, a cam member arranged on the lever is fitted with a cam follower arranged on the housing to pull the lever from the primary locking position to the secondary locking position, so that the female housing is firmly connected to the male housing.
  • When a lever connector is at the secondary locking position, a lever joint is fitted and locked with a cantilevered hanging table of the housing, and a position at which the lever rotates forward and stops is implemented by fitting of a keyway in the lever and a key on the housing, but a fit clearance between the keyway and the key is enlarged along the lever. This causes the lever to rotate too far forward, so that a threading hole in the lever and a threading hole in the housing cannot accurately overlap, leading to difficulty in threading a cable tie or a metal wire.
  • SUMMARY
  • The present disclosure aims to solve at least one of the technical problems existing in a related art. Therefore, the present disclosure provides a connector. The connector can make a lever mechanism accurately remain at a locking position, so as to accurately aligned threading holes and improve a locking retention force of the connector.

The first housing includes two opposite side walls. Locking recessed parts corresponding to the locking protrusion parts are provided in the two side walls respectively. The locking protrusion parts are matched with the locking recessed parts such that the lever mechanism remains at a pre-locking position of the first housing. The first housing further includes an upper wall, and in response to that the lever mechanism remains at a locking position of the first housing, the locking protrusion parts abut against the upper wall of the first housing, to limit excessive rotation of the lever mechanism.
  • In the connector according to the embodiment of the present disclosure, the locking protrusion parts are arranged on the two side levers respectively, and the locking recessed parts corresponding to the locking protrusion parts are provided in the two side walls respectively. The locking protrusion parts are matched with the locking recessed parts such that the lever mechanism remains at the pre-locking position of the first housing. In response to that the lever mechanism remains at the locking position of the first housing, the locking protrusion parts abut against the upper wall of the first housing, to limit the excessive rotation of the lever mechanism. DETAILED DESCRIPTION
  • Embodiments of the present disclosure are described in detail below, and examples of the embodiments are shown in accompanying drawings, where the same or similar elements or the elements having same or similar functions are denoted by the same or similar reference signs throughout the description. The embodiments described below with reference to the accompanying drawings are exemplary, and are only intended to explain the present disclosure and cannot be construed as a limitation to the present disclosure.
  • A connector according to an embodiment of the present disclosure is described below with reference to the accompanying drawings.
  • FIG. 1 is a schematic structural diagram of a connector in a direction according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. The connector includes a female housing and a male housing. When the female housing is assembled to the male housing, the female housing is locked to the male housing by a lever mechanism, so that assembly is implemented. For example, the first housing 1 in the embodiment of the present disclosure is configured to refer to a female housing, and in another embodiment, the first housing 1 may alternatively refer to a male housing. This is not limited in this embodiment.
  • As shown in FIG. 1, the connector 100 includes a first housing 1 and a lever mechanism 2. The lever mechanism 2 is rotatably connected to the first housing 1, and the lever mechanism 2 has a pre-locking position and a locking position relative to the first housing 1. The lever mechanism 2 includes two opposite side levers 21 and an intermediate locking lever 22 connecting the two side levers 21, and locking protrusion parts 212 are arranged on the two side levers 21 respectively. The first housing 1 includes two opposite side walls 11, and locking recessed parts 114 corresponding to the locking protrusion parts 212 are provided in the two side walls 11 respectively. The locking protrusion parts 212 are matched with the locking recessed parts 114 such that the lever mechanism 2 remains at a pre-locking position of the first housing 1. The first housing 1 further includes an upper wall 12, and in response to that the lever mechanism 2 remains at a locking position of the first housing 1, the locking protrusion parts 212 abut against the upper wall 12 of the first housing 1, to limit excessive rotation of the lever mechanism 2.
  • Specifically, the locking recessed parts 114 are provided in the first housing 1, and the locking protrusion parts 212 are arranged on the lever mechanism 2, so that primary locking of the first housing 1 to the lever mechanism 2 can be implemented through matching between the locking recessed parts and the locking protrusion parts. In addition, during secondary locking of the first housing 1 to the lever mechanism 2, the locking protrusion parts 212 on the lever mechanism 2 may be configured to abut against an upper surface of the first housing 1 or edges of two sides of the upper surface, so as to limit excessive forward rotation of the lever mechanism 2, and ensure alignment of a threading hole in the first housing 1 and a threading hole in the lever mechanism 2, so that threading of a cable tie or a metal wire can be completed more easily. It can be seen that the "excessive rotation of the lever mechanism 2" in the present disclosure can be understood as excessive forward rotation of the lever mechanism 2, which makes the threading hole in the first housing 1 and the threading hole in the lever mechanism 2 misaligned.
  • Therefore, in the connector 100 according to the embodiment of the present disclosure, the locking protrusion parts 212 are arranged on the two side levers 21 respectively, and the locking recessed parts 114 corresponding to the locking protrusion parts 212 are provided in the two side walls 11 respectively. The locking protrusion parts 212 are matched with the locking recessed parts 114 such that the lever mechanism 2 remains at the pre-locking position of the first housing 1. In response to that the lever mechanism 2 remains at the locking position of the first housing 1, the locking protrusion parts 212 abut against the upper wall 12 of the first housing 1, to limit the excessive rotation of the lever mechanism 2. The connector 100 can make the lever mechanism 2 accurately remain at the locking position, to accurately align the threading holes and improve the locking retention force of the connector 100.
  • In some embodiments, the two side levers 21 are provided with rotating shaft receiving holes 215, and corresponding rotating shafts 112 are arranged on the two opposite side walls 11 of the first housing 1. The lever mechanism 2 is rotatably connected to the first housing 1 through fitting between the rotating shaft receiving holes 215 and the rotating shafts 112. The rotating shafts 112 are fitted with the rotating shaft receiving holes 215 to form a rotating mechanism, so that the lever mechanism 2 can rotate relative to the first housing 1. Alternatively, rotating shafts may be arranged on the side levers 21 and rotating shaft receiving holes are provided in the side walls 11 of the first housing 1 to form a rotating mechanism.
  • For example, the lever mechanism 2 is rotatably connected to the first housing 1 through the rotating mechanism and is detachable therefrom. For example, an end of each of the two side levers 21 of the lever mechanism 2 is connected by the intermediate locking lever 22, and the intermediate locking lever 22 extends beyond an outer side of the first housing 1 and is configured to rotate on the outer side of the first housing 1 during locking of the connector 100. The two side levers 21 and the intermediate locking levers 22 are usually integrally formed.
  • More specifically, as shown in FIG. 3, each of the side levers 21 has a first arm 211 and a second arm 213 that are connected to each other. The rotating shaft receiving hole 215 is provided in the first arm 211. The second arm 213 extends in an axial direction of the first arm 211, and the locking protrusion part 212 is arranged at the second arm 213. When the lever mechanism 2 is at the pre-locking position, an end of the first arm 211 extends forward and downward to be mounted on a corresponding rotating shaft 112, and the intermediate locking lever 22 is connected to a side of each corresponding second arm 213. The first arm 211 and the second arm 213 of each side lever 21 extend in a straight line. In some embodiments, the first arm 211 and the second arm 213 may alternatively be arranged at a certain angle. For example, the first arm 211 and the second arm 213 may form an obtuse angle.
  • In some embodiments, each side lever 21 has a first arm 211. As shown in FIG. 3, an end of the first arm 211 is in a meshing tooth shape, with an outer surface provided with a toothed structure 216. In another embodiment, the end may alternatively be in a groove shape. The rotating shaft receiving hole 215 in the side lever 21 is provided in the first arm 211. At least one side lever 21 has a second arm 213, and the second arm 213 extends in an axial direction of the first arm 211. A locking protrusion part 212 is provided on the second arm 213. The side wall 11 of the first housing 1 is provided with a locking recessed part 114 corresponding to the locking protrusion part 212 on the second arm 213. The locking protrusion part 212 is matched with the locking recessed part 114 to form a pre-locking mechanism. When the locking protrusion part 212 is located in the locking recessed part 114, the lever mechanism 2 is at the pre-locking position relative to the first housing 1 and has a certain retention force, so that the lever mechanism 2 is prevented from being separated from the pre-locking position due to a slight collision during packaging, transportation, and assembly.
  • In some embodiments, the locking protrusion part 212 may be configured as a protrusion structure in any shape. For example, the locking protrusion part 212 may be in a cylindrical shape, a cone shape, or a cube shape, as long as the locking protrusion part 212 can form a pair with the locking recessed part 114 to implement a locking function. This is not limited in this embodiment.
  • In some embodiments, the locking recessed part 114 may be a groove or a protrusion receiving hole, and the locking recessed part 114 is matched with the locking protrusion part 212 based on the groove or the protrusion receiving hole, such that the lever mechanism 2 remains at the pre-locking position of the first housing 1.
  • Further, the locking protrusion part 212 has an arc transition surface, and two side edges of the upper wall 12 of the first housing 1 have edge rounded surfaces. In response to that the lever mechanism 2 remains at the locking position of the first housing 1, the arc transition surface of the locking protrusion part 212 abuts against the edge rounded surfaces, to limit the excessive rotation of the lever mechanism 2.
  • In some embodiments, the first housing 1 is provided with a first threading hole 13, and the lever mechanism 2 is provided with a corresponding second threading hole 214. In response to that the lever mechanism 2 remains at the locking position of the first housing 1, the locking protrusion part 212 abuts against the upper wall 12 of the first housing 1, such that the second threading hole 214 in the lever mechanism 2 is aligned with the first threading hole 13 in the first housing 1, so as to thread a fastening structure to fasten the connector 100, thereby strengthening a secondary locking retention force between the lever mechanism 2 and the first housing 1.
  • Specifically, when the first housing 1 is matched with the paired second housing 5 (as shown in FIG. 6 and FIG. 7), the toothed structure 216 arranged on the lever mechanism 2 is matched with a toothed structure of the paired second housing 5. The lever mechanism 2 is rotated, so that the toothed structure 216 drives the first housing 1 to be inserted into the paired second housing 5. When the lever mechanism 2 rotates to the locking position (as shown in FIG. 7), the first housing 1 is completely inserted into the paired second housing 5 in place, and secondary locking of the lever mechanism 2 is implemented. An arc transition surface of the locking protrusion part 212 of the lever mechanism 2 abuts against the upper wall 12 of the first housing 1 or edge rounded surfaces of two sides thereof. This limits excessive forward movement of the lever mechanism 2, and ensures that the second threading hole 214 in the lever mechanism 2 is basically aligned with the first threading hole 1 in the first housing 1, so that a cable tie or a metal wire can be threaded for fixing, to enhance the secondary locking retention force between the lever mechanism 2 and the first housing 1.
  • In some embodiments, the upper wall 12 of the first housing 1 is further provided with a locking part 14, and the intermediate locking lever 22 abuts against the locking part 14, such that the lever mechanism 2 remains at the locking position of the first housing 1. For example, when the lever mechanism 2 rotates to the locking position, the intermediate locking lever 22 is hung at the locking part 14 to implement secondary locking of the lever mechanism 2.
  • Optionally, the locking part 14 may be a boss, and the boss is arranged on the upper wall 12 of the first housing 1 as a cantilever. That is, one side of the boss is connected to the upper wall 12 of the first housing 1, and the other side thereof is arranged as a cantilever to form a free end. The boss has a transition surface 141 and an abutment surface 142. The transition surface 141 extends from the upper wall 12 of the first housing 1, and presents an arc rising trend, to guide rotation of the lever mechanism 2. The abutment surface 142 is perpendicular to the upper wall 12 of the first housing 1. When the lever mechanism 2 rotates in place, the intermediate locking lever 22 of the lever mechanism 2 abuts against the abutment surface 142 to lock the intermediate locking lever 22 through the abutment surface 142 of the locking part 14. During rotation of the lever mechanism 2, the intermediate locking lever 22 penetrates through the transition surface 141 to reach the abutment surface 142, such that the lever mechanism 2 remains at the locking position of the first housing 1.
  • In some embodiments, the upper wall 12 of the first housing 1 is further provided with an arc transition section 122, and the arc transition section 122 is arranged on an axial rear side of the upper wall 12. That is, the arc transition section 122 is arranged on a side of the upper wall 12 away from the locking protrusion part 212 at the locking position. In other words, in the present disclosure, a portion of the upper wall 12 that is suitable for abutting against the locking protrusion part 212 such that the lever mechanism 2 remains at the locking position is located in the front of the upper wall 12, and the arc transition section 122 is located at the rear of the upper wall 12. With the arrangement of the arc transition section 122, the lever mechanism 2 is guided, so that the lever mechanism 2 can smoothly turn to the locking position from rear to front, and operating comfort of the connector 100 is also improved.
  • In some embodiments, the upper wall 12 of the first housing 1 is further provided with an inclined section 121 and an arc transition section 122, and the inclined section 121 and the arc transition section 122 are sequentially arranged on an axial rear side of the upper wall 12, that is, on a side of the upper wall 12 close to the locking recessed part 114. Specifically, viewed forward along an axial rear end of the upper wall 12, two symmetrical inclined sections 121, two symmetrical arc transition sections 122, and edges of two sides are sequentially arranged on a side edge of the upper wall 12. That is, the arc transition sections 122 are arranged between the inclined sections 121 and the edges.
  • In a specific embodiment, a plastic member 3 is provided in the first housing 1, and is configured to accommodate a metal terminal. During assembly of a terminal and a wire of the connector 100, the rotating shaft receiving hole 215 in the lever mechanism 2 is fitted with the rotating shaft 112 on the first housing 1, and the locking protrusion part 212 on the lever mechanism 2 is matched with the locking recessed part 114 in the first housing 1. The lever mechanism 2 is locked at a primary locking position, and the plastic member 3 is inserted into the first housing 1 from the side edge after the terminal and the wire are assembled. The wires extend out in an opening direction of the first housing 1, and a baffle 4 is inserted into the first housing 1 from bottom to top to block the plastic member 3. When the first housing 1 is matched with the paired second housing 5, the toothed structure 216 arranged on the lever mechanism 2 is matched with the toothed structure of the paired second housing 5, and the lever mechanism 2 is rotated, so that the toothed structure 216 drives the first housing 1 to be inserted into the paired second housing 5 by a lever principle. When the intermediate locking lever 22 of the lever mechanism 2 is hung on the locking part 14 arranged above the first housing 1, the first housing 1 is completely inserted into the paired second housing 5 in place (as shown in FIG. 7), and secondary locking of the lever mechanism 2 is implemented. The second threading hole 214 in the lever mechanism 2 is aligned with the first threading hole 1 in the first housing 1, to thread a cable tie or a metal wire for fixing, so as to strengthen the secondary locking retention force between the lever mechanism 2 and the first housing 1.

As shown in FIG. 1 to FIG. 7, the connector assembly 200 includes a first housing 1, a second housing 5, and a lever mechanism 2. The lever mechanism 2 is rotatably connected to the first housing 1. The first housing 1 further includes an upper wall 12, and in response to that the first housing 1 is connected to the second housing 5, the locking protrusion parts 212 abut against the upper wall 12 of the first housing 1, such that the lever mechanism 2 remains at a locking position of the first housing 1 and limit excessive rotation of the lever mechanism 2.
  • In the connector assembly 200 according to the embodiment of the present disclosure, the locking protrusion parts 212 are arranged on the two side levers 21 respectively, and the locking recessed parts 114 corresponding to the locking protrusion parts 212 are provided in the two side walls 11 respectively. The locking protrusion parts 212 are matched with the locking recessed parts 114 such that the lever mechanism 2 remains at the pre-locking position of the first housing 1. In response to that the first housing 1 is connected to the second housing 5, the locking protrusion parts 212 abut against the upper wall 12 of the first housing 1, to limit the excessive rotation of the lever mechanism 2. The connector assembly 200 can make the lever mechanism 2 accurately remain at the locking position, to accurately align the threading holes and improve the locking retention force of the connector assembly 200.
  • It should be noted that, in the present disclosure, a direction "up" can be understood as a side on which the upper wall 12 is located for the first housing 1, a direction "down" can be understood as a side of the first housing 1 that faces away from the upper wall 12, a direction "rear" can be understood as a side of the upper wall 12 close to the locking recessed part 114, and a direction "front" can be understood as a side of the upper wall 12 away from the locking recessed part 114. It can be seen that the upper wall 12 has a front edge and a rear edge in a front-rear direction. Compared with the front edge, the rear edge is provided closer to the locking recessed part 114. When the locking protrusion part 212 abuts against the upper wall 12, the lever mechanism 2 can be prevented from rotating excessively in a direction close to the front edge. That is, the lever mechanism 2 can be prevented from rotating excessively in a direction away from the locking recessed part 114.
