Abstract
The invention relates to a container comprising a bottom (1) from the longer sides of which emerge internal side walls (2), and from the front end of which emerges a quadrangular sector (3) that extends laterally into two rectangular flaps (4) that attach to the internal side walls (2), wherein, the vertical edge of the quadrangular sector defines the seat or pivoting limit of a cover formed by a central rectangular sector (5) and two appendages (6) in the shape of an arcuate sector that are disposed perpendicular to the main sector, determining means for guiding and limiting the opening of the cover. The bottom (1) extends backwards to form a rear wall (9) that extends into two rectangular sectors defining external side walls (10), the rear wall (9) comprising a trapezoidal sector (13) that folds over same, the arcuate sectors (6) being disposed between the internal side walls (2) and the external side walls (10), wherein the external side walls (10) comprise holes (14) for locking.
Description
- The present invention refers to a cardboard container which, although initially intended for the marketing of detergent capsules, could also be applicable in other areas where similar performance is required.
- The purpose of the invention is to provide a container which has stable and secure means of closure, preventing accidental opening of the container, and which requires a non-intuitive maneuver to prevent access to its contents by children.
- In the preferred field of application of the invention, that of detergent capsules, these are supplied in plastic containers, mainly because these types of products can be very dangerous for children if they have access to them, so these types of containers include means of opening that require a certain amount of skill that makes it unlikely that children will be able to open them.
- However, the fact that these types of containers are made of plastic poses an evident ecological problem; therefore, selling them in cardboard containers would be the solution to this environmental problem.
- The cardboard container described completely solves the drawbacks mentioned above with a simple but effective solution.
- To this end, and more specifically, the invention container is created by developing a die-cut sheet of cardboard with folding lines that defines a rectangular sector that constitutes the bottom of the container, from the longer sides of which emerge respective essentially rectangular sectors constituting the internal side walls of the container, while from its front end emerges a quadrangular sector extending laterally into two rectangular flaps that attach to the internal side walls of the container, constituting the seat for the sides of the pivoting cover of the container, which emerges from the upper edge of such quadrangular sector, consisting of a central rectangular sector and two lateral appendages in the shape of an arcuate sector arranged perpendicularly to the main sector, determining means for guiding and limiting the degree of opening of the cover, which will occupy a lateral position on top of the container.
- This cover will finally include an upper expansion in the form of a skirt, as a retaining element for the products contained in it, stabilized by two lateral flaps that are fixed laterally and internally to the skirt, emerging from the lateral arcuate sectors of the cover.
- This bottom extends towards the rear into another rectangular sector, which will define the rear wall of the container, and which extends into two rectangular side sectors which will define the external side walls of the container.
- In this way, a double wall is defined in the container, between which the lateral appendages of the pivoting cover are guided, which are arranged between these pairs of walls, the external walls having holes corresponding to the extremity of these arcuate sectors in which they tend to lock, so that to unlock the cover it is necessary to press on these holes simultaneously with the fingers of the hand (the width of the container shall have the size of the width of an adult hand).
- The sector defining the rear wall is prolonged at the top in a trapezoidal sector that folds inwardly over such wall, including the respective side tabs which, when the container is assembled, fit into the respective staggered recesses that coincide with the top of the rear side edge of the internal side walls. This is a security system which locks these walls, which are lower than the external walls, preventing them from moving upwards if an attempt is made to break the box open.
- The external side walls are finished off at the top in the respective sectors which fold orthogonally over them and are fixed together to define the closed upper face of the container.
- Finally, it should be noted that, in order to facilitate the removal of the cover, the external side walls may incorporate a recess in the front side edge, in the form of a groove, to facilitate access to the sides of the pivoting cover.
- To complete the description below and in order to give a better understanding of the characteristics of the invention, according to a preferred example of practical performance thereof, this description includes a set of drawings used for purely illustrative purposes, not to be construed as limiting, representing as follows:
-
Figure 1 . Shows a plan view of a cardboard container for the marketing of detergent capsules and the like. -
Figure 2 . Shows a perspective view of the device of the previous figure. -
Figures 3 to 10 . Show the respective perspective views of different progressive sequences to assemble the invention container. -
Figure 11 . Shows a perspective view of the fully assembled container. -
Figure 12 . Shows a similar view as the one shown infigure 11 , but with the container cover in an open position. - In view of the figures shown above, it may be observed that the invention container is created by developing a die-cut sheet of cardboard with folding lines that defines a rectangular sector that constitutes the bottom (1) of the container, from the longer sides of which emerge the respective essentially rectangular sectors constituting the internal side walls (2) of the container, while from its front end emerges a quadrangular sector (3) extending laterally into two rectangular flaps (4) that attach to the internal side walls (2) of the container, so that its vertical edge defines the seat or folding limit for the container cover, as will be seen later on.
- More specifically, the pivoting cover emerges from the upper edge of the quadrangular sector (3) and is made up of a central rectangular sector (5) and two lateral appendages in the form of an arcuate sector (6) that are arranged perpendicularly to the main sector, determining means for guiding and limiting the degree of opening of the cover.
- Thus, as observed in
figures 11 and12 , the cover will occupy an upper lateral position on the container, the width of the container being the width of an adult hand so that it can be easily handled. - The upper edge of the cover is topped by a narrow skirt (7) which is linked to the arcuate sectors (6) by means of flaps (8) emerging from them, the final configuration of which can be seen in
figure 12 , determining a retaining element for the products contained inside the container when it is tilted with the cover open. - As for the bottom (1), it extends in a rear direction in another rectangular sector, which will determine the rear wall (9) of the container, and which extends in two rectangular side sectors that will define the external side walls (10) of the container and which, as can be seen in
figure 10 , are slightly higher than the internal side walls (2). - The sector determining the rear wall (9) extends at the top in a trapezoidal sector (13) that folds internally on said wall: it includes the respective side tabs (11) that in the assembly of the container fit into the respective stepped recesses (16) provided in correspondence with the upper end of the rear side edge of the internal side walls (2), defining a means for blocking them.
- The external side walls (10) are finished off at the top in rectangular sectors (12) which, when folded orthogonally and fixed together, define the closed top wall or base of the container. On the basis of this structure, a double wall is defined in the container between which the arcuate sectors (6) of the pivoting cover are guided, arranged between these pairs of walls, the outer walls (10) having holes (14) corresponding to the end of such arcuate sectors (6) in which their pointed ends tend to lock, so that to unlock the cover it is necessary to press on these holes simultaneously with the fingers of the hand.
- Finally, in order to facilitate the removal of the cover, the external side walls (10) will incorporate a recess in the front side edge, in the form of a groove (15), to facilitate manual access to the sides of the pivoting cover with one hand only.
