Description

  • The present invention relates to a dishwasher comprising a filter.
  • In dishwashers, dirt and stains on the dishes are removed by means of the spraying arms which spray water. Dirt dispersing into the washing tub is filtered by means of the strainer provided at the base of the dishwasher. Thus, dirt is prevented from entering the water line and clogging the line. The strainer is detachably mounted onto the base of the dishwasher. Thus, the strainer can be easily detached by the user to be washed and cleaned. Dirt smaller than the holes of the strainer is held by a filter which has smaller holes and which is detachably mounted onto the strainer. A micro filter which retains even smaller dirt particles is attached to the filter. The filter and the micro filter collect dirt particles thereon in the course of time and are required to be detached and washed by the user. In order to ensure that the washing performance is high, the filter and the micro filter are detached from the dishwasher and replaced by the user. However, dirt accumulating on the filter causes a bad appearance and bad odor in the dishwasher. Moreover, there may be situations where the filter and micro filter cannot be properly attached in place in the dishwasher during the assembly. Sometimes, the user continues the washing process without realizing that the filter and micro filter are dirty, and problems such as dirt sticking to kitchen items arise.
  • In the state of the art International Patent Application No. WO2019068528 , a dishwasher is disclosed, which enables the micro filter to be washed by creating a vortex in the sump.
  • The aim of the present invention is the realization of a dishwasher which enables the filter and the micro filter to be washed.
  • The dishwasher realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof, comprises a body; a washing tub which is disposed in the body; a sump which is disposed under the washing tub; a filtering member which is provided on the sump; and a filter which is detachably attached to the filtering member. The filter has a fine filter, which retains smaller particles, and a coarse filter, which retains larger particles. By means of the filter, the dirt particles which are removed from over the kitchen items during the washing are retained and are prevented from reaching the sump. Thus, the dirt particles are prevented from reaching electronic components and from adversely affecting the washing performance. The water is transmitted to the filter from the sump through an opening arranged to the filter.
  • The dishwasher of the present invention comprises a control unit which enables the water to be delivered to the filter through the opening before and after each washing step such that the filter is washed. The filter washing process is performed before and after each washing step and is repeated continuously during the washing program. Thus, the filter is always kept clean.
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, the dishwasher comprises the control unit which ensures that a predetermined amount of water required for the washing step is taken into the sump and the remaining water after the filter washing process is completed with the water taken is taken to start the washing step. The control unit ensures that some of the water required for the washing process is taken into the sump in advance so as to wash the filter and that the remaining water is taken into the sump afterwards. Thus, the filter is washed before the washing step starts and then the washing step is started.
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, the dishwasher comprises the control unit which ensures that the filter washing process is performed with a predetermined amount of the water to be discharged from the washing tub during the discharge step before the water is discharged. Thus, the filter becoming dirty during the washing process is washed during the discharge step.
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, the dishwasher comprises the control unit which ensures that the filter washing process is performed in all washing programs and between cycles. Thus, the filter is enabled to be always kept clean.
  • By means of the present invention, a dishwasher is realized, comprising the control unit which enables the filter to be washed between washing steps
  • A dishwasher realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention is illustrated in the attached figures, where:
    • Figure 1 - is the perspective view of the dishwasher.
    • Figure 2 - is the perspective view of the base of the washing tub.

  • The dishwasher (1) comprises a body (2); a washing tub (3) which is disposed in the body (2) and wherein the washing process is performed; at least one rack (4) which is disposed in the washing tub (3) and whereon the kitchen items are placed by the user; at least one spraying member (5) which sprays water onto the rack (4); a sump (6) which is disposed under the washing tub (3) and which receives the water leaving the washing tub (3); a filtering member (7) which is disposed over the sump (6) at the base (T) of the washing tub (3); a filter (10) which is detachably attached onto the filtering member (7) and which has a fine filter (8) retaining dirt particles and a coarse filter (9) detachably attached to the fine filter (8) and retaining dirt particles; and an opening (11) which opens from the sump (6) towards the filter (10) and which provides the delivery of water. The kitchen items placed onto the rack (4) are cleaned by means of the water delivered by the spraying member (5). The water to be delivered to the washing tub (3) and to flow down during the washing process accumulates on the sump (6) disposed at the base (T) of the washing tub (3). By means of the filtering member (7) disposed on the sump (6), the dirt removed from the kitchen items is prevented from reaching the sump (6). The dirt particles passing through the filtering member (7) are retained by the filter (10). The filter (10) comprises a coarse filter (9) and a fine filter (8). Thus, dirt is retained before reaching the electronic components and the washing components. By means of the opening (11) arranged on the sump (6), the water is delivered to the filter (10). Thus, the filter (10) is enabled to be cleaned with water.
  • The dishwasher (1) of the present invention comprises a control unit (12) which ensures that the amount of water predetermined by the manufacturer, which is required for the filter (10) to be washed before and after each washing step, is kept in the sump (6) and delivered to the filter (10) through the opening (11). The filter (10) is continuously washed with a certain amount of water before and after the washing step. The determined amount of water is preferably 1 liter. The filter (10) is washed at the beginning and end of each step throughout the washing program so as to be kept clean.
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, the dishwasher (1) comprises the control unit (12) which ensures that a predetermined amount of the water required for the washing step is taken into the sump (6), that the water taken into the sump (6) is delivered to the filter (10) to wash the filter (10), and that the remaining amount of water required is taken into the sump (6) to perform the washing step. Some of the amount of the water required for the washing step, preferably 1 liter, is taken in advance and delivered from the sump (6) to the filter (10). The filter (10) is washed by means of water and the remaining water is taken into the sump (6) to be delivered to the spraying members (5). Thus, the filter (10) is constantly kept clean without the need for extra water and time.
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, the dishwasher (1) comprises the control unit (12) which ensures that a predetermined amount of the water to be discharged from the washing tub (3) in the discharge step is delivered to the filter (10) through the sump (6) before being discharged to wash the filter (10), and that the remaining water is then discharged. After the washing step is completed, the water is discharged from the washing tub (3). The filter (10) is washed without discharging a predetermined amount of water, and the remaining water is discharged. Thus, the filter (10) is cleaned for the next step.
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, the dishwasher (1) comprises the control unit (12) which ensures that the filter (10) washing process is performed in all washing program steps. The filter (10) washing process is performed at the beginning and end of all program steps. Independently of the user preference, the filter (10) is continuously washed between steps throughout the washing algorithm. Thus, the filter (10) is constantly kept clean without the need for an additional washing process. Savings in energy and water are provided and washing efficiency is increased.
  • By means of the present invention, a dishwasher (1) is realized, comprising a control unit (12) which ensures that the filter (10) cleaning process is performed at the beginning and end of each step throughout the washing program. thus, the filter (10) is washed at the beginning and end of each step without wasting additional time and water, and the filter (10) is constantly kept clean.
