Description

BATHROOM ACCESSORY MOUNTING ASSEMBLY
TECHNICAL FIELD
The present invention relates to a bathroom accessory mounting assembly that will find application in interior furnishings and in particular will be used to mount different types of bathroom accessories. In addition, the assembly can also be used for the installation of household accessories in other rooms, such as, for example, a kitchen, a toilet, a sanitary room or another suitable room.
BACKGROUND ART
Many different solutions for attaching bathroom accessories are known from the prior art, and generally, bathroom accessories have a mounting base for attaching to a mounting surface, which is most often a wall. The mounting base is usually attached by fastening means, and it is necessary to make corresponding holes in the mounting surface for screws. This solution does not allow changing the accessory without removing the base, and it is often necessary to make new holes for the corresponding fastening means with which to fix the new accessory since most accessories have different sizes of the base and have different fastening means. Also, if the base is separate from the accessory, it is necessary to fasten the bathroom accessory with special plates, which further makes the construction more complicated, the installation of which is often timeconsuming and leads to damage to the surfaces to which it is attached.
A prior solution is known, described in CN 104146645 A, which discloses an assembly for attaching a bath towel, which consists of a base for attachment to a surface by fastening means, a support rod and a box. The base has a connecting sleeve with projecting tips for engagement in holes in the box into which one end of the support rod is inserted. This end is secured against slipping off the opening of the box into which it is inserted, by making a skirt widening the diameter of the rod, which fits into the box. A decorative sleeve is placed around the box. The described solution is not suitable for use with other types of bathroom accessories, therefore it has low applicability and does not provide a sufficiently stable and strong attachment of the mounted accessory.
DISCLOSURE OF INVENTION
The object of the invention is to create an improved mounting assembly for bathroom accessories that is widely applicable to a variety of interchangeable accessories and that can be easy, fast, strong and stable installed by the average user.
The object is solved by creating a bathroom accessory mounting assembly according to the invention, which includes an inner member and an outer member, each of said inner member and outer member have a base wall, a surrounding wall and one open side. Said inner member and outer member are releasably coupled to each other. The inner member is tightly fitted into the outer member such that the open side of the inner member is placed towards the main wall of the outer member, forming a closed box-shaped structure having a front side and a back side that is opposite of the front side. A bathroom accessory is attached to the front side. The back side is configured for attachment to a mounting surface. The inner member has tightening ribs formed on the outer surface of the surrounding wall. The tightening ribs of the inner member are in contact with the inner surface of the surrounding wall of the outer member, thereby providing a tight fit of the inner member in the outer member.
In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the bathroom accessory is attached to the front side of the closed box-shaped structure by at least one cold adhesion, which can be for example a double-sided adhesive tape or alternatively an adhesive layer.
In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the inner member is attached to the outer member by fastening means. In one embodiment of the invention, the fastening means can be a screw and a nut connected to each other. In this variant, corresponding coaxial through-holes are formed in the surrounding wall of said inner and outer members for passing of the screw, and the nut is placed into a fixing socket formed on one of the walls inside the inner member.
In a further embodiment of the invention, said closed box-shaped structure has a polygonal cross-section with at least three longitudinal edges. In an alternative embodiment of the invention, said closed box-shaped structure has a circular, oval or elliptical cross-section.
In another preferred embodiment of the invention, said closed box-shaped structure is surrounded by a sleeve.
In said preferred embodiment of the invention, in which the closed box-shaped structure has a polygonal cross-section and is surrounded by a sleeve, it is possible for at least one of said longitudinal edges to be a beveled edge which has a slope of bevel decreasing from the front side to the back side of the closed box-shaped structure. A narrowing gap is formed between the sleeve and the closed box-shaped structure in the area of the slope of said at least one beveled edge, which narrowing gap narrows in the direction from the back side to the front side of the closed box-shaped structure. A wedge is fit into the narrowing gap which is configured to tighten the closed boxshaped structure to the sleeve. Also, it is possible that additional ribs are formed at least partially along the length of the longitudinal edges, except along the length of said at least one beveled edge, which is free of additional ribs. The additional ribs are designed to further tighten the closed box- shaped structure to the sleeve.
In said preferred embodiment of the invention, in which the closed box-shaped structure has a circular, oval or elliptical cross-section and is surrounded by a sleeve, it is possible that a recess is formed on the outer surface of the surrounding wall of the inner member, which recess has slope decreasing from the front side to the back side of the closed box-shaped structure. Between the sleeve and the closed box-shaped structure in the area of the recess, a narrowing gap is formed, narrowing in the direction from the back side to the front side of the closed box-shaped structure. A wedge is fit into the narrowing gap configured to tighten the closed box-shaped structure to the sleeve.
In one embodiment of the invention, the sleeve also has a through-hole for passing of the screw, which through-hole is corresponding and coaxial to the other through-holes.
In all embodiments of the invention in which the closed box-shaped structure is surrounded by a sleeve, it is possible for said sleeve to be fixed to the outer member by an additional screw and an additional nut, wherein corresponding coaxial additional through holes are formed in the surrounding wall of said outer member and in the sleeve for passing of the additional screw, and the additional nut is screwed to the additional screw and is located in an additional socket formed on one of the walls in the outer member.
The bathroom accessory mounting assembly has a multifunctional use because different bathroom accessories can be exchanged only by disassembling the inner and outer members of the closed box-shaped structure. Furthermore, the assembly provides an easier and stronger mounting, without shaking and falling from the wall of the accessory, while improving the appearance of the mounted bathroom accessory.

In a preferred embodiment of the invention (shown in more detail in Figures 1 and 2), the bathroom accessory mounting assembly includes an inner member 1 and an outer member 2, the inner member 1 has a base wall 1.1, a surrounding wall 1.2 and an open side 1.3, and the outer member 2 has a base wall 2. 1 , a surrounding wall 2.2 and an open side 2.3, respectively. Said inner member 1 and outer member 2 are releasably coupled to each other, the inner member 1 is tightly fit into the outer member 2 so that the open side 1.3 of the inner member 1 faces the main wall 2. 1 of the outer member 2, forming a closed box-shaped structure 3 in which there is a cavity. In order to form the closed box -shaped structure 3, the inner surface of the surrounding wall 2.2 of the outer member 2 must have a corresponding shape to the outer surface of the surrounding wall 1.2 of the inner member 1 .
The closed box-shaped structure 3 (shown in Fig. 3) has a front side 3.1 which is defined and corresponds to the base wall 1 .1 of the internal member 1 and to which a bathroom accessory 4 is attached, as well as a back side 3.2 which is defined and corresponds to the base wall 2.1 of the outer member 2 and which is opposite to the front side 3.1. In addition, the closed box-shaped structure 3 has a surrounding wall which is defined and corresponds to the surrounding wall 2.2 of the outer member 2. The back side 3.2 is configured to be fixed to a mounting surface by fastening means, such as screws passing through corresponding through-holes on the back side 3.2 and on the surface to which the bathroom accessory mounting assembly is attached. For example, the bathroom accessory mounting assembly can be mounted to a wall, cabinet, or other suitable surface. It is also possible for the bathroom accessory mounting assembly to be attached to a corresponding surface by an adhesion means such as double-sided tape or an adhesive layer. This option allows the bathroom accessory mounting assembly to be attached to any surface, including smooth surfaces such as glass and mirrors that do not allow for invasive attachment.
The bathroom accessory 4 is preferably attached to the front side 3.1 of the closed box-shaped structure 3 by any type of suitable cold adhesion means known in the art, such as double-sided tape and/or an adhesive layer, alternatively, an embodiment with a combination of them is also possible. In another alternative embodiment of the invention, the bathroom accessory 4 can be attached to the front side 3.1 of the closed box-shaped structure 3 by means of fasteners passing through corresponding holes in the bathroom accessory 4 and the closed box-shaped structure 3.
It is possible, if necessary, to replace one bathroom accessory 4 with another bathroom accessory 4. In the case where the bathroom accessory is mounted by means of cold adhesion to the internal member 1 , this is done by replacing the internal member 1 from the closed box-shaped structure 3, to which the corresponding bathroom accessory 4 is attached, with another internal member 1 , to which another desired bathroom accessory 4 is attached, provided that the shapes of the two internal members 1 to be replaced correspond to each other.
The inner member 1 has tightening ribs 5 (shown in Figures 1 to 5, 8 and 9) and formed on the outer surface of the surrounding wall 1.2 of the inner member 1, which make contact in points with the inner surface of the surrounding wall 2.3 of the outer member 2. The tightening ribs 5 ensure a better fit of the inner member 1 in the outer member 2, so as to avoid the possibility of the inner member 1 wobbling and falling out of the outer member 2. The tightening ribs 5 can be formed along the entire length of the outer surface of the surrounding wall 1.2 or alternatively, only partially along it, as long as they provide the necessary sealing.
Additional securing of the assembly between the inner member 1 and the outer member 2 is provided by the engagement of the inner member 1 to the outer member 2 by fastening means. It is possible to use means for fastening the inner member 1 to the outer member 2 which are known in the art, such as a screw and a nut, a clip and its corresponding hole, a bump and a groove, by means of a bayonet grip or by any other suitable means for fastening.
In the preferred embodiment, the fastening means are a screw 6.1 and a nut 6.2 connected to each other, whereby corresponding coaxial through-holes 7.1, 7.2 are formed in the surrounding wall 1.2, 2.2 of the inner and outer members 1, 2 for passing of the screw 6.1, and the nut 6.2 is placed in a fixing socket 6.3 formed on one of the walls inside the inner member 1, which keeps the nut 6.2 from rotating during assembly. It is possible that the fixing socket 6.3 is formed both on the surrounding wall 1.2 and on the base wall 1.1. The fixing socket 6.3 may be located low against the wall to which it is formed, or protrude higher inside the inner member 1, depending on the specifics of the particular type of bathroom accessory mounting assembly. The through-holes 7.1, 7.2 are coaxial in the assembled position of the bathroom accessory mounting assembly and may be of the same or different diameter as long as their diameter is smaller than that of the screw head 6.1 and the nut 6.2.
In an alternative embodiment of the invention, in which the fastening means are a clip and a through-hole, said clip is formed on the outside of the surrounding wall 1.2 of the inner member 1 with the possibility of being attached and released to said through-hole, which is formed on the surrounding wall 2.2 on the outer member 2. The embodiment with a bump and a groove works on the same principle.
As shown in Figures 4 to 10, the closed box-shaped structure 3 is surrounded by a sleeve 9, wherein the inner surface of the sleeve 9 corresponds to the outer surface of the surrounding wall 2.2 of the outer member 2, preferably so as to ensure a maximum tight fit of the closed box-shaped structure 3 in the sleeve 9. The sleeve 9 provides a hidden installation of the bathroom accessories by surrounding the closed box-shaped structure 3 and its adjacent members and fasteners, giving a complete aesthetic appearance to the entire bathroom accessory mounting assembly. To fix said sleeve 9, a through-hole 7.3 is formed in it for the passing of the screw 6.1, which through-hole 7.3 is corresponding and coaxial with the through-holes 7.1, 7.2 in the assembled position of the bathroom accessory mounting assembly. In addition, the sleeve 9 can be fixed by means of an additional screw 17.1 and a nut 17.2, whereby corresponding coaxial additional through-holes 8.1, 8.2 are formed in the surrounding wall 2.2 of said outer member 2 and on the sleeve 9 for passing of the additional screw 17.1, and the additional nut 17.2 is screwed to the additional screw 17.1 and is located in an additional socket 17.3 formed in the outer member 2.
In an alternative embodiment of the invention, it is possible that the bathroom accessory mounting assembly may not include sleeve 9, as shown in Figures 1 and 2 and as described above.
In the preferred embodiment (shown in Figures 1 to 8) said closed box-shaped structure 3 has a polygonal cross-section with four longitudinal edges extending along the length of the closed box-shaped structure 3 from the front side 3.1 to the back side 3.2. A polygonal cross-section may be triangular, rectangular, pentagonal, or of a shape having a greater number of angles, and for each cross-section, the number of longitudinal edges is determined by the number of angles. In the embodiment shown in Figures 1-8 two of said longitudinal edges are beveled edges 10 which have a slope of bevel from the front side 3.1 to the back side 3.2 of the closed box-shaped structure 3. Depending on the shape of the closed box-shaped structure 3, it is possible alternatively only one as well as three or more edges to be beveled. Additionally, it is also possible for all longitudinal edges to be beveled. Accordingly, between the sleeve 9 and the closed box-shaped structure 3 in the region of bevel at said beveled edges 10, a corresponding number of narrowing gaps 11 are formed, which narrow in the direction from the back side 3.2 to the front side 3.1 of the closed box-shaped structure 3, so that their widest part is towards the back side 3.2 and their narrowest part is in the front side 3.1. Wedges 12 are pressed into the narrowing gaps 11 for further tightening of the closed box-shaped structure 3 to the sleeve 9.
Additional ribs 13 are formed partially, or alternatively entirely, along the longitudinal edges, except along the length of the beveled edges 10, which are left free, i.e. without additional ribs 13. The additional ribs 13 are intended for additional tightening of the closed box-shaped structure 3 to the sleeve 9, provided by the contact points between them.
In an alternative embodiment of the invention (shown in Figures 9 and 10), said closed boxshaped structure 3 has a circular, oval or elliptical cross-section. In these embodiments, a recess 14 is formed on the outer surface of the surrounding wall 1.2 of the inner member 1 , which has a slope from the front side 3.1 to the back side 3.2 of the closed box-shaped structure 3. Between the sleeve 9 and the closed box-shaped structure 3 in the area of the recess 14 at least one narrowing gap 15 is formed, which narrows in the direction from the back side 3.2 to the front side 3.1 of the closed box-shaped structure 3 so that the widest part is in the back side 3.2 and their narrowest part is in the front side 3.1. In the narrowing gap 15, a wedge 16 is fit configured for tithening the closed box-shaped structure 3 to the sleeve 9. Alternatively, it is possible to form more than one gap 15, in which respective wedges 16 are fit.
When attaching the bathroom accessory mounting assembly, the outer member 2 is initially mounted to a selected mounting surface. The mounting surface can be any surface, for example, a wall of a room, a sanitary surface such as tiles in a bathroom or kitchen, glass, a mirror or another surface, for example, a door or side of a cabinet, a refrigerator door, and others. After the outer member 2 is secured to the mounting surface, the inner member 1 to which the bathroom accessory 4 is pre-mounted is tightly fitted into the outer member 2. The inner member 1 is placed in the outer member 2 in such a way as to form the said closed box-shaped structure 3 with a front side 3.1, to which the bathroom accessory 4 is respectively mounted, and with a back side 3.2, which is respectively attached to the mounting surface. In embodiments, after the box-shaped structure 3 is formed, it is further secured by the screw 6.1 , which is passed through the corresponding coaxial through-holes 7.1, 7.2 and connected to the nut 6.2 located in the fixing socket 6.3.
In cases where the closed box-shaped structure 3 is surrounded by the sleeve 9, then prior to attachment to the mounting surface, the outer member 2 is placed in the sleeve 9, preferably the corresponding wedge 12, 16 being wedged into the corresponding narrowing gap 11, 15 to tighten the sleeve 9 to the outer member 2. In a preferred embodiment, before placing said wedges 12, 16 into the corresponding narrowing gap 11, 15, the sleeve 9 is preferably additionally secured to the outer member 2 in advance by means of the additional screw 17.1, which is passed through the coaxial through-holes 8.1, 8.2 and screwed into the additional nut 17.2 located in the socket 17.3. After they are prepared for installation, the outer member 2 is attached to the mounting surface together with the sleeve 9 around it, and then the inner member 1 is placed in the same manner to that described above in the outer member 2 thus mounted to form the closed box-shaped structure 3, which is hidden by the sleeve 9. In this case, after the closed box-shaped structure 3 is formed, it is additionally secured by the screw 6.1 , which, before being screwed to the nut 6.2 placed in the fixing socket 6.3, is passed as through the corresponding coaxial through holes 7.1, 7.2 and 7.3.
The bathroom accessory mounting assembly is easy for manufacturing, as all members can be machined without the need for multiple manual processes. A suitable material for the closed box-shaped structure 3 is plastic, which, for example, can easily be machine-extruded into the desired shape and size. Alternatively, other suitable flexible materials may be used if they permit machining to the desired shape and size. The sleeve 9 is desirably machine-cut from wood, plastic or metal such as stainless steel or other suitable material, preferably by laser or CNC milling. When the sleeve 9 is made of plastic, at least its outer surface may preferably be galvanized. Additionally, preferably, it is desirable that the bathroom accessory 4 is produced from the same material as the sleeve 9, so as to obtain an overall finished appearance of a concealed mounting type bathroom accessory mounting assembly, wherein the closed box-shaped structure 3 remains hidden by sleeve
9.
Within the scope of the current invention, the use of bathroom accessory mounting assembly is also suitable for other type of rooms in which the same bathroom accessories can be installed, such as a kitchen, toilet or other sanitary room. For example, a towel rack can be installed in a bathroom, kitchen, and toilet.
Although the present invention has been described in relation to preferred embodiments, it should be noted that other types of exemplary embodiments are possible, obvious to those skilled in the art, which will achieve the desired effects, by the features disclosed in the present description and claims which do not depart from the scope of the present invention as defined by the claims.
