Description

A DISHWASHER WITH IMPROVED DRYING EFFECTIVENESS
The present invention relates to a dishwasher with improved drying effectiveness.
In dishwashers, after the washing and rinsing steps are completed, the drying step is carried out to dry the dishes in the washing tub. The drying step is based on the effective drying of the dishes by dehumidifying the hot steamy air in the dishwasher. The drying process is preferably carried out by means of a drying duct provided on the side of the dishwasher, in other words, between the dishwasher body and the washing tub. The hot and humid air generated at the end of the rinsing step is preferably suck into the drying duct by means of a fan, and said air is cooled by the ambient air between the dishwasher body and the washing tub in the drying duct, and the dehumidified air is sent back into the washing tub through the drying duct. This process continues until all the dishes in the washing tub are completely dry. When the drying process is completed, said air is discharged from the dishwasher through the drying duct. In the drying step, if the hot and humid air in the drying duct cannot be sufficiently dehumidified, this situation causes inefficient drying, thus prolonging the drying time and increasing the energy consumed by the dishwasher. A heater is used or the drying process is carried out for long periods at low temperature in order to improve the drying performance. However, while the drying performance is improved in each process, energy consumption increases or user satisfaction decreases since the program duration is prolonged. In the state of the art, there are systems which enable the air in the washing tub to be discharged. However, in this case, adverse results may occur as the hot and humid air discharged from the washing tub is delivered into the kitchen environment.
In the state of the art United States Patent Document No. US4179821, a dishwasher is disclosed, wherein the drying performance is improved by mixing the air taken from the outside with the air in the washing tub.
The aim of the present invention is the realization of a dishwasher with improved drying performance and user satisfaction. The dishwasher realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof, comprises a body; a washing tub which is disposed in the body; at least one spraying member which sprays water onto the dishes placed into the washing tub; at least one heater which heats the water; an outlet opening which enables the hot air rising from the washing tub in the drying step to be discharged from the washing tub; and a channel which is connected to the channel. The water heated by the heater is delivered onto the dishes. When the drying step starts after the washing process, the humid air formed by the hot water is separated from the dishes and is discharged from the washing tub through the channel connected to outlet opening.
The dishwasher of the present invention comprises a pre-condensation chamber which is disposed in the washing tub. The channel is connected to the pre-condensation chamber. By means of the pre-condensation chamber, the hot and humid air discharged from the washing tub is delivered to the outer environment in a controlled manner. Thus, the direct delivery of hot and humid air to the kitchen environment is prevented. The quality of the ambient air is preserved and the deformation of the surface which gets in contact with the hot and humid air is prevented.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the dishwasher comprises the precondensation chamber, which at least partially opens to the outer environment from the washing tub. In the part where the pre-condensation chamber opens to the outer environment, the hot and humid air is discharged. Preferably, the part opening to the outer environment faces down. Thus, the hot air is mixed with the ambient air before dispersing in the outer environment.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the dishwasher comprises a cut-out which is provided on the channel. The cut-out is provided on the part of the channel opening to the pre-condensation chamber.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the dishwasher comprises the cut-out which opens on the part of the pre-condensation chamber opening to the outer environment. Thus, the hot and humid air coming from the washing tub is delivered to the outer environment in a controlled manner. In an embodiment of the present invention, the dishwasher comprises a plurality of openings which are arranged on the pre-condensation chamber. The opening is positioned along the pre-condensation chamber and at the part where the cut-out opens on the pre-condensation chamber. The openings are more dense in the part where the cut-out is located and may become sparse along the pre-condensation chamber. The openings can also be arranged at equal intervals.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the dishwasher comprises a plurality of guiding protrusions which are arranged on the pre-condensation chamber. By means of the guiding protrusions, the hot and humid air delivered through the channel is guided in the pre-condensation chamber, thus reducing the temperature and humidity thereof.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the dishwasher comprises at least one movable cover which is disposed on the opening and which enables the opening to be covered. The covers enable the openings to be covered or opened. Thus, freedom of use is provided for the pre-condensation chamber.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the dishwasher comprises a first humidity sensor which is provided on the pre-condensation chamber, and a control unit which enables the movable covers to be opened and closed according to the information received from the first humidity sensor. The threshold humidity values are predefined in the control unit by the manufacturer. If the humidity value measured inside the precondensation chamber is different from the threshold values, the movable covers are opened and closed by the control unit. Thus, mold or bad odors which may form in the pre-condensation chamber are prevented.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the dishwasher comprising the precondensation chamber having an inclined base which prevents the spillage of condensate, a hole arranged at the comer of the base, a shutter provided on the hole, and a delivery line connected to the hole. By means of the inclined base, the condensate is accumulated in the pre-condensation chamber. The accumulated water is delivered to the transmission line through the hole and is thus discharged. Thus, water particles are prevented from continuously remaining on the pre-condensation chamber. In an embodiment of the present invention, the dishwasher comprises a secl7ond humidity sensor which enables the measurement of the humidity in the ambient air, and the control unit which compares the information received from the second humidity sensor with the information received from the first humidity sensor. If the humidity value taken from the first humidity sensor is greater than the humidity value taken from the second humidity sensor, the movable doors are opened by the control unit. Thus, the humid air in the pre-condensation chamber is delivered to the outer environment in a controlled manner. If the humidity value taken from the second humidity sensor is greater than the humidity value taken from the first humidity sensor, the movable doors are closed and the shutter is opened by the control unit. Thus, no more humid air is delivered to the air of the outer environment which already has a high humidity level.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the dishwasher comprises the precondensation chamber which is manufactured from a conductive material. By means of the conductive nature thereof, the pre-condensation chamber heats up as the washing tub heats up. Thus, the condensation is decreased.
By means of the present invention, a dishwasher is realized, comprising a precondensation chamber which enables the hot and humid air in the washing tub to be discharged in the drying step in a controlled manner.

At least a part of the pre-condensation chamber (8) extends towards the outer environment from the washing tub (3). Thus, the hot and humid air is delivered to the outer environment from this part.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the dishwasher (1) comprises a cut-out (9) which is arranged on the part of the channel (7) remaining on the pre-condensation chamber (8). By means of the cut-out (9) arranged on the channel (7), the air discharged from the washing tub (3) is delivered to the pre-condensation chamber (8).
In an embodiment of the present invention, the dishwasher (1) comprises the cut-out (9) which opens on the part of the pre-condensation chamber (8) opening to the outer environment from the washing tub (3). By means of the cut-out (9) opening on the part of the pre-condensation chamber (8) which opens to the outer environment, the hot and humid air is enabled to be delivered to the outer environment in proportion to the location and dimensions of this part. Thus, the air quality of the kitchen environment is not affected and the surface that the air gets into contact with is not deformed.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the dishwasher (1) comprises a plurality of openings (10) which are arranged along the pre-condensation chamber (8) and on the part of the pre-condensation chamber (8) where the cut-out (9) is located and which enable the air discharged from the washing tub (3) to be delivered the outer environment. By means of the openings (10) arranged on the pre-condensation chamber (8), the air discharged from the washing tub (3) is enabled to be delivered transmitted to the outer environment. The openings (10) can be provided in various arrangements. In the part where the cut-out (9) is located, the number and dimensions of the openings (10) are low, and may increase throughout the pre-condensation chamber (8). The openings (10) may also have the same dimensions and a homogeneous distribution.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the dishwasher (1) comprises a plurality of guiding protrusions (11) which are arranged on the pre-condensation chamber (8) and which enable the air discharged from the washing tub (3) to be guided. By means of the guiding protrusions (11), the air delivered to the pre-condensation chamber (8) can be moved throughout the pre-condensation chamber (8). Thus, the part and the openings (10) for delivering the hot and humid air to the outer environment can be determined.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the dishwasher (1) comprises at least one movable cover (12) which is disposed on the pre-condensation chamber (8) and which enables the opening (10) to be covered. By means of the movable covers (12), the openings (10) are opened and covered. The user can at least partially deactivate the precondensation chamber (8) by closing the movable cover (12) as per his/her preference.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the dishwasher (1) comprises a first humidity sensor (13) which is provided on the pre-condensation chamber (8), and a control unit which compares the humidity values measured by the first humidity sensor (13) with the humidity values predetermined by the manufacturer and which moves the movable covers (12) when certain values are not met By means of the first humidity sensor (13), the humidity rate in the pre-condensation chamber (8) is measured. The opening and closing of the movable doors (12) is controlled by comparing the humidity value predefined on the control unit (14) with the value taken from the first humidity sensor (13). Thus, the humidity rate in the pre-condensation chamber (8) is balanced. Thus, both the drying performance is increased and the bad odor and mold caused by humidity are prevented. In an embodiment of the present invention, the dishwasher (1) comprising the precondensation chamber (8) having an inclined base (15) which prevents the spillage of condensate, a hole (16) arranged at the comer of the base (15), a shutter (17) provided on the hole (16), and a delivery line (18) enabling the condensate to be discharged through the hole (16). By means of the inclined base (15) of the pre-condensation chamber (8), water droplets formed in the pre-condensation chamber (8) can be accumulated on the base (15). By means of the hole (16) arranged on the edge where the base (15) and the side surface are joined, the accumulated water is transferred to the delivery line (18) and discharged. Thus, dirt and bad odor which may occur in the precondensation chamber (8) are prevented.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the dishwasher (1) comprises a second humidity sensor (19) which measures the humidity of the ambient air, and the control unit (14) which compares the values taken from the first humidity sensor (13) and the second humidity sensor (19), which opens the covers (12) if the value from the first humidity sensor (13) is greater than the value from the second humidity sensor (19), and which opens the shutter (17) if the value from the second humidity sensor (19) is greater than the value from the first humidity sensor (13). By means of the second humidity sensor (19), the humidity rate of the ambient air is measured. If the humidity value taken from the first humidity sensor (13) is greater than the value taken from the second humidity sensor (19), the movable doors (12) are opened such that the hot and humid air in the pre-condensation chamber (8) is delivered to the outer environment. If the humidity value taken from the second humidity sensor (19) is greater than the value taken from the first humidity sensor (13), the covers (12) are closed and the shutter (17) is opened. Thus, the hot and humid air is not transmitted to the outer environment, but is condensed in the pre-condensation chamber (8) and then discharged via the delivery line (18) through the shutter (17). Thus, the quality of the ambient air is maintained and the drying performance is not affected by adverse weather conditions.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the dishwasher (1) comprises the precondensation chamber (8) which is manufactured from a conductive material. By means of the pre-condensation chamber (8) manufactured from a conductive material, the pre- condensation chamber (8) is heated during the washing process, and the condensation of hot and humid air is reduced.
By means of the present invention, a dishwasher (1) is realized, comprising a precondensation chamber (8) which enables the hot and humid air in the washing tub (3) to be discharged to the outer environment in the drying step in a controlled manner. Thus, by means of the outlet opening (6), the drying performance is increased and the quality of the air of the outer environment is maintained. By means of the controlled delivery of the hot and humid air taken from the washing tub (3) to the outer environment, the deformation of the surface that the hot air get in contact with is prevented.

Claims

CLAIMS - A dishwasher (1) comprising a body (2); a washing tub (3) which is arranged in the body (2) and wherein the washing process is realized; at least one spraying member (4) which is disposed in the washing tub (3) and which provides the delivery of water onto the kitchen items; a heater (5) which is disposed in the body and which heats the water to be delivered onto the kitchen items; at least one outlet opening (6) which is arranged close to the ceiling (T) of the washing tub (3) or on the ceiling (T) and which moves the humid air caused by the hot water away from the kitchen items at the beginning of the drying step; and a channel (7) which is connected to the outlet opening (6), characterized by a pre-condensation chamber (8) which is disposed on the washing tub (3) and which is connected to the channel (7) so as to enable the air discharged from the washing tub (3) to be delivered to the outer environment in a controlled manner. - A dishwasher (1) as in Claim 1, characterized by a pre-condensation chamber (8) which at least partially opens to the outer environment from the washing tub (3). - A dishwasher (1) as in Claim 1 or Claim 2, characterized by a cut-out (9) which is arranged on the part of the channel (7) remaining on the precondensation chamber (8). - A dishwasher (1) as in Claim 3, characterized by the cut-out (9) which opens on the part of the pre-condensation chamber (8) opening to the outer environment from the washing tub (3). - A dishwasher (1) as in Claim 3 or Claim 4, characterized by a plurality of openings (10) which are arranged along the pre-condensation chamber (8) and on the part of the pre-condensation chamber (8) where the cut-out (9) is located and which enable the air discharged from the washing tub (3) to be delivered the outer environment. - A dishwasher (1) as in any one of the above claims, characterized by a plurality of guiding protrusions (11) which are arranged on the pre-condensation chamber (8) and which enable the air discharged from the washing tub (3) to be guided. - A dishwasher (1) as in Claim 5 or Claim 6, characterized by at least one movable cover (12) which is disposed on the pre-condensation chamber (8) and which enables the opening (10) to be covered. - A dishwasher (1) as in Claim 7, characterized by a first humidity sensor (13) which is provided on the pre-condensation chamber (8), and a control unit which compares the humidity values measured by the first humidity sensor (13) with the humidity values predetermined by the manufacturer and which moves the movable covers (12) when certain values are not met - A dishwasher (1) as in any one of the above claims, characterized by the precondensation chamber (8) having an inclined base (15) which prevents the spillage of condensate, a hole (16) arranged at the corner of the base (15), a shutter (17) provided on the hole (16), and a delivery line (18) enabling the condensate to be discharged through the hole (16). 0- A dishwasher (1) as in Claim 9, characterized by a second humidity sensor (19) which measures the humidity of the ambient air, and the control unit (14) which compares the values taken from the first humidity sensor (13) and the second humidity sensor (19), which opens the covers (12) if the value from the first humidity sensor (13) is greater than the value from the second humidity sensor (19), and which opens the shutter (17) if the value from the second humidity sensor (19) is greater than the value from the first humidity sensor (13). 1- A dishwasher (1) as in any one of the above claims, characterized by the precondensation chamber (8) which is manufactured from a conductive material.
