Description

AN IMPROVED GAS BURNER
FIELD OF THE TECHNIQUE
The present invention relates to a gas burner for caravans, boats and vehicles in general, ie a gas burner to be mounted on a cooking hob intended to be used and mounted on board of a vehicle of any type.
STATE OF THE ART
The gas burners which are intended to be mounted on the hobs present inside a caravan, boat or vehicle in general must be equipped with a system for fixing the lid and the flame spreader to the injector holder, or to the hob, able to avoid that the inevitable jolts, which are generated inside the vehicle during its journeys, cause unwanted and continuous vibrations or noises, up to the detachment of the lid and the flame spreader from the injector holder or from the hob.
Furthermore, in this context, the lid is generally locked to the flame spreader by means of two through screws which are inserted from top to bottom and which, after passing through both the lid and the flame spreader, are screwed into two corresponding bushings, also used to fix the injector holder to the hob.
This solution is not satisfactory since the screws for fixing the lid to the flame spreader remain visible and give rise to an unpleasant aesthetic result.
To eliminate this drawback, it has already been proposed to fasten a sheet metal plate to the flame spreader by means of two fixing screws, which act substantially in the same way as described in the previous solution, as well as to obtain, in the center of the sheet metal plate, a threaded through hole, into which a threaded pin welded to the center of the lower face of the enamelled lid is screwed.
This solution allows to obtain a satisfactory aesthetic result since, once the burner is assembled, what remains visible is only the enamelled lid, which thus completely hides both the plate and the heads of the screws fixing the sheet metal plate to the flame spreader.
However, this known solution is rather expensive to implement as it requires an additional component (the sheet metal plate) and requires additional operations to constrain this additional component to the flame spreader and to weld the threaded pin to the lower surface of the enamelled lid.
Furthermore, the known solutions present a problem of use linked to their maintenance and cleaning. Occasionally, in fact, the end user will need to clean the burner which will inevitably get dirty with use and to do this he will have to remove the screws that keep the various components locked together. This operation may not be so easy as with time, dirt and oxidation these screws tend to rub together making this disassembly operation very difficult and also risking damaging the threads of the screws or bushings, thus irreparably compromising the fixing system.
There are also known solutions that do not require the use of screws, such as the one described in EP3426979, where the fixing takes place by means of springs fixed on the injector holder which are hooked onto special shaped pins which cross the flame spreader and which are welded on the lower part of the lid. This last solution does not have a negative impact on the aesthetics of the product as it does not have visible fixing screws on the upper surface of the enamelled lid, however this solution, like the two previous ones, is not optimal as, having parts that slide between them, the disassembly and subsequent reassembly of the various components over time could be complicated due to wear and dirt.

The injector holder 6 is configured for - and is intended to - be applied in correspondence with an opening intended to be made in a hob 10 of a caravan, boat and I or vehicle in general. In particular, the injector holder 6 can be of the traditional type and is intended to be attached to the hob 10 of a caravan or motor home or of a boat or vehicle.
Preferably, in some possible embodiments, the injector holder 6 comprises a cavity 7 delimited by a cup support 16, completely closed both at the bottom and laterally and open at the top, to thus allow entry into the cavity 7 of the primary air sucked in from above the hob 10.
Conveniently, in other possible embodiments (see fig. 11), the injector holder 6 comprises a cavity 7 delimited by a cup support 16 in which at least one opening 79 is made, in particular on the side walls, for the inlet of primary air 88 coming from underneath the hob 10. According to the present invention, the injector holder 6 of fig. 11 can be used in all the embodiments and variants of the burner described here and I or illustrated in the remaining figures. In particular, it is understood that the injector holder 6 provided with at least one opening 79 for the inlet of primary air 88 from below the hob 10 can have all the remaining characteristics, both essential and preferential, which are described and / or illustrated in the remaining figures, with reference to the injector holder 6 which is configured to allow the primary air sucked in from above the hob 10 to enter the cavity 7.
Conveniently, the injector holder 6 comprises at the bottom an attachment 20 for a gas supply duct, which is in fluid communication with a vertical injector 22 which, preferably, is screwed centrally on the bottom of the cup support 16.
Conveniently, it is mounted on the injector holder 6 at least a first element 70 of the magnetic connection means. In particular, said first element 70 comprises at least one part in magnetized material, preferably a magnet, or comprises at least one part in ferromagnetic material.
Preferably, said first element 70 can comprise an engagement portion 71 with the injector holder 6 and a head portion 72 for the magnetic connection. Conveniently, the engagement portion 71 can be defined by an elongated portion with a substantially tubular development, while the head portion 72 is provided at one end of the engagement portion 71 and projects radially with respect to the latter. In particular, the head portion 72 has a larger cross section than the engagement portion 71 with the injector holder 6. Conveniently, the head portion 72 and the engagement portion 71 can be defined by a single piece (for example the head and the stem of a piece substantially shaped like a bolt or screw) or they can be defined by two distinct pieces. Preferably, as illustrated in greater detail in fig. 12, said first element 70 can comprise a head portion 72 which is made of magnetized material (in particular it is a magnet) and which is defined by an annular body 72” of tubular or prismatic shape with a central hole inside which it is inserted an engagement member 71” (which thus defines the engagement portion 71 of the first element 70 with the injector holder 6), for example a tapered head screw, which interacts with the internal walls of the central hole of the annular body 72” to then engage in a corresponding seat obtained in the injector holder 6, thus allowing the head portion 72 defined by the magnetized annular body 72” to be fixed on the injector holder 6. Conveniently, the engagement member 71” and the magnetized annular body 72” are configured in such a way that said engagement member fits with its head end inside the central hole of the magnetized annular body, thus being recessed inside the interior of the latter.
Advantageously, in some possible embodiments (see fig. 1a - 1d, 2a - 2d, 3a - 3c, 4a - 4d), at least the head portion 72 of each first element 70 is made of ferromagnetic material, or vice versa it could be in magnetized material.
Advantageously, in another possible embodiment (see fig. 9a - 9d), at least the head portion 72 of each first element 70 is made of magnetized material and, preferably, is defined by a magnet.
Conveniently, said at least one first element 70 can be mounted inside the cavity 7 delimited by the cup support 16. In particular, in a possible embodiment (see fig. 1 a - 1d or 4a - 4d), the first element 70 can be mounted on a protruding portion 73 which is formed inside the cup support 16 of the injector holder. Conveniently, the protruding portion 73 departs from the internal bottom and I or side walls that delimit the cup support 16. Conveniently, the protruding portion 73 can be defined so that the first element 70 is arranged in proximity to the central zone of the injector holder 6, to thus define a magnetic connection - as described below - between the injector holder 6 and the flame spreader 4 and I or lid 8, in correspondence with their respective central areas.
Advantageously, the side wall of the cup support 16 is provided with at least two flanges 14 projecting outward to adhere from below to the cooking hob 10. Conveniently, in particular when two or more first elements 70 are provided (see fig. 2a - 2d and 3a - 3c), these can be mounted outside the cavity 7 delimited by the cup support 16, in correspondence with the flanges 14.
Conveniently, in correspondence with the flanges 14 two or more holes 13 intended to be crossed by members for fastening the injector holder 6 to the plate of the cooking hob 10.
In a possible and preferred embodiment (see fig. 7), in correspondence with the flanges 14 two or more first threaded holes 13’ can be obtained to be crossed by screws 11 fastening the injector holder 6 to the plate of the cooking hob 10. Conveniently, two or more second holes 13” can be made in correspondence with the flanges 14. ti to be crossed by said first elements 70.
Conveniently, in a possible embodiment (cf. fig. 8a and 8b), the fastening members of the injector holder 6 to the plate of the cooking hob 10 are defined by the same first elements 70. In particular, in this case, in correspondence with the flanges 14 there are two or more through holes 13 intended to be crossed by the engagement portion 71 of the first elements 70 while the head portion 72, which has a larger cross-section than said holes, abuts against the upper surface of the plate of the cooking hob 10 and, therefore, the latter is thus clamped between the flanges 14 of the injector holder 6 and the head portion 72 of the first elements 70.
Furthermore, suitably, the side wall of the cup support 16 extends above the flanges 14 to define a collar 15.
Advantageously, the injector holder 6 comprises a first arm 17 for supporting a spark plug 19 and a second arm 18 for supporting a thermocouple 21. Conveniently, the first 17 and the second arm 18 extend, at the collar 15, radially outwards from the external walls of the cup support 16.
Conveniently, in a possible embodiment (cf. fig. 14), a bracket 90 can be provided (which is obtained in a separate piece from the injector holder 6) for indirectly fixing the injector holder 6 to the plate of the cooking hob 10. Preferably, this bracket 90 has a substantially laminar conformation (for example defined by a piece of shaped sheet metal) and is configured to externally embrace the cup support 16 of the injector holder 6 at the collar 15. Preferably, this bracket 90 comprises:
- two or more first holes 13’, preferably internally threaded, intended to be traversed by screws 11 securing the injector holder 6 to the plate of the cooking hob 10,
- two or more third holes (not shown) intended to be crossed by said first elements 70; in particular, each third hole obtained on said bracket 90 is intended to be facing and aligned with a corresponding second hole 13” obtained in correspondence with the flanges 14 of the injector holder 6 so that each first element 70 passes through a corresponding second hole 13” in sequence obtained on the flange 14 of the injector holder 6 and a third hole obtained on said further element.
Conveniently, therefore, in this possible embodiment, the injector holder 6 is indirectly bound to the cooking hob 10 by means of said bracket 90 since the injector holder 6 is bound directly to the bracket 90 by means of the first elements 70, thus making the injector holder 6 integral with said bracket 90, and it is the latter that is fixed directly to the cooking hob 10. This is particularly advantageous since it allows to use injector holder components of a type already available on the market. The magnetic means of the burner 2 according to the invention - as mentioned - also comprise at least a second element 80 which is mounted and / or obtained on the lid 8 and I or on the flame spreader 4.
The second element 80 can comprise:
- at least one part in ferromagnetic material for the magnetic connection with the magnetized part of a corresponding first element 70, or
- at least a part made of magnetized material, preferably a magnet, for the magnetic connection with a ferromagnetic part of a corresponding first element 70, or
- at least a part made of magnetized material, preferably a magnet, for the magnetic connection with a part of opposite polarity made of magnetized material, preferably a magnet, of a corresponding first element 70; in particular, in this case, the second element 80 and the first element 70 are both two magnets and are arranged - and in particular they are mounted respectively on the injector holder 6 and on the flame spreader 4 or on the lid 8 - so that they face each other with poles of opposite sign which, therefore, attract each other.
Basically, the burner 2 comprises magnetic connection means of the injector holder 6 to the lid 8 and I or flame spreader 4 and, suitably, said means comprise:
- at least a first element 70, preferably two or more first elements 70, which is I are made
- at least in part - of ferromagnetic material, and I or magnetized material,
- at least a second element 80, preferably two or more elements 80, which is I are made
- at least in part - of magnetized material, and I or of ferromagnetic material, to thus allow magnetic connection with a corresponding first element 70.
Conveniently, the magnetic connection between at least a first element 70 and at least a second element 80 thus ensures a stable coupling and positioning of the lid 8 and I or of the flame spreader 4 on the injector holder 6.
Conveniently, in a possible embodiment (see fig. 1a - 1d or fig.4a - 4d), only one second element 80 is provided, for example in ferromagnetic material, which magnetically cooperates with a corresponding first element 70, for example in magnetized material (preferably magnets), which is mounted on the injector holder 6.
Preferably, each first element 70 and each second element 80 are configured and arranged so as to allow I cause their mutual magnetic attraction.
Conveniently, in a possible embodiment (see fig. 2a - 2d and fig. 9a - 9d), two second elements 80 are provided, for example in ferromagnetic material, which magnetically cooperate with two respective first elements 70, for example in magnetized material (preferably magnets), which are mounted on the injector holder 6. Conveniently, in a possible embodiment (see fig. 3a - 3c), three second elements 80 are provided, for example in ferromagnetic material, which magnetically cooperate with three respective first elements 70, for example made of magnetized material (preferably magnets), which are mounted on the injector holder 6.
Conveniently, the magnetic connection between each first element 70 and a corresponding second element 80 is caused by the magnetic attraction of the ferromagnetic part of one element towards the magnetized part of the other element.
Conveniently, in another possible embodiment, the magnetic connection between each first element 70 and a corresponding second element 80 is caused by the magnetic attraction of the pole of a magnetized part of an element towards the opposite pole of the facing magnetized part of the other element.
The flame spreader 4 defines, together with the lid 8, an internal mixing I distribution chamber 40, which preferably has a radial venturi effect and has a globally circular shape.
Conveniently, one or more recesses 41 are provided in correspondence with the circular edge of the flame spreader 4 which define a suitable housing space for the spark plug 19 and / or the thermocouple 21 .
The flame spreader 4 also comprises a vertical duct 42 which faces the injector 22 mounted on the injector holder 6 and at the top opens into the center of the chamber 40 which, preferably, has a radial venturi effect.
Conveniently, the lower surface of the flame spreader 4 has shaped reliefs 43 which extend downwards.
Conveniently, the two elements 70 and 80 (see fig. 5) connected magnetically can be in direct contact or they can also not be in direct contact (see fig. 6), although they are in any case at such a distance (for example equal or less than one millimeter) that the magnetic force of attraction between the two elements is in any case sufficient to prevent the easy movement of the flame spreader and I or lid from the injector holder, thus ensuring coupling and stable positioning of the lid 8 and I or the flame spreader 4 on the injector holder 6. Advantageously, in this case (see for example Fig. 6), the shaped reliefs 43 of the flame spreader 4 rest and / or engage in corresponding areas of the injector holder 6. More particularly, the lower part of each shaped relief 43 presents a step, in correspondence with which the relief itself rests on the collar 15 of the cup 16 of the injector holder 6 and, advantageously, also ensures the centering of the or flame spreader with respect to the injector holder.
Basically, in a possible embodiment (see fig. 6), the body of the flame spreader 4 rests directly on the body of the injector holder 6. In another possible embodiment (see fig. 5), the body of the flame spreader 4 does not rest directly on the body of the injector holder 6, while it is only the second element 80 which is mounted on the lid 8 and I or flame spreader 4 that rests and comes into contact with the first element 70 mounted on the injector holder 6. Therefore, the lid assembly The flame spreader is mounted on the injector holder only by means of direct contact between the magnetic connection elements 70 and 80.
In another possible embodiment shown in fig. 10, the body of the flame spreader 4 rests directly on the body of the injector holder 6 and also the second element 80 which is mounted on the lid 8 and I or the flame spreader 4 rests and comes into contact with the first element 70 mounted on the injector holder 6.
Advantageously, in case of direct support of the flame spreader 4 on the injector holder 6 and I or in case of support between the flame spreader 4 and the injector holder 6 through the contact between at least a first element 70 and a second element 80, between the flame spreader 4 and the cavity 7 of the injector holder 6 passages are defined (not shown) to allow the entry of primary air, coming from above the hob 10, into the cavity 7 of the injector holder 6 which houses the injector 22.
The chamber 40 of the flame spreader 4 is delimited at the bottom by a base wall 49, circumferentially by a side wall 50 and at the top by the lid 8.
The wall 50 presents a plurality of doors 52 for the output of the primary gas I air mixture and the generation of a crown of flames. Conveniently, said doors 52 can comprise main doors and secondary doors having different passage sections.
The lid 8 is defined by a laminar-shaped body (ie in which the thickness is lower than the other two dimensions) and, preferably, it is a disk-shaped body. Preferably, the lid 8 is enameled entirely or at least in correspondence with its upper face intended to be visible.
Conveniently, the flame spreader 4 comprises at least one opening 54, preferably through, which is formed on its base wall 49 and in which a corresponding fastening member 59 associated with the lid 8 engages.
Preferably, in some possible embodiments (cf.. fig. 1a - 1 d) the opening 54 is through and can pass through the base wall 49 of the flame spreader 4 and also extend inside a tubular section 55 which extends below from the bottom of the base wall 49 of the flame spreader 4.
Conveniently, the fastening member 59 can comprise a pin 60 which is welded to the lower face of the lid 8 (see fig. 1a - 1 d, 2a - 2d and 3a - 3c) or it can comprise a screw, bolt or similar member 61 which is removably inserted into a through seat 62 defined on the lid 8 (see fig. 4a - 4d or 9a - 9d). In a possible embodiment (see fig. 4a - 4d), the fastening member 59 engages inside an opening 54 which is blind, preferably internally threaded, made on the flame spreader 4.
In some preferred forms of embodiment (see fig. 1a - 1d, 2a - 2d and 3a - 3c), each fastening member 59 is configured to completely pass through a corresponding through opening 54 of the flame spreader, to then come out of said opening. In particular, suitably, each fastening member 59 has a length such as to pass through the flame spreader 4 so as to protrude I extend from the bottom wall 49 of the same.
Conveniently, the fact that said at least one fastening member 59 associated with the lid 8 within the opening 54 obtained in the flame spreader, it allows to block - and in particular prevents or in any case is limited to the play present between the pin and the opening - the lateral movement between the lid 8 and the flame spreader 4.
Conveniently, in a possible form of realization (see fig. 1a - 1d) a single pin 60 is provided which is positioned near the center of the lid 8. Conveniently, in another possible embodiment (see fig. 2a - 2d), two pins 60 in diametrically opposite positions of the lid 8 may be provided. Conveniently, in another possible embodiment (see fig. 3a - 3c) three pins 60 can be provided which are arranged, substantially equidistant, along the circumferential edge of the lid 8.
In particular, the flame spreader 4 comprises a number of openings 54 corresponding to the number of fastening members 59 which are associated with the lid 8.
In a possible embodiment (cf. for example fig. 13), each second element 80 of the magnetic connection means can be defined by the same fastening member 59 which is associated with the lid 8, and in which said member 59 is made, at least at its end, of ferromagnetic or magnetized material, to thus interact magnetically with a first element 70, mounted on the injector holder 6, respectively in magnetized (possibly of opposite sign) or ferromagnetic material. In particular, as shown in fig. 13, the second element 80 comprises the pin 60 itself, or in any case at least its extremal portion, which defines and acts as a fastening member 59 of the lid 8 to the flame spreader 4.
Conveniently, in some preferred embodiments, the second element 80 can be mounted on the fastening member 59 which is associated with the lid 8 and which passes through the flame spreader 4.
Conveniently, in other possible embodiments (see fig. 4a - 4d and 9a - 9d), each second element 80 can be independent from the fastening member or members 59 which is I are associated with the lid 8 and which crosses the flame spreader 4. Preferably, in a possible embodiment (see fig. 4a - 4d), each second element 80, made of ferromagnetic or magnetized material, it is mounted directly on the bottom of the flame spreader 4. Conveniently, when the second element 80 is mounted directly and only on the bottom of the flame spreader 4, said second element 80 can have a stem 84, preferably at least partially threaded, which engages within a blind hole 86, preferably internally threaded, obtained on the bottom of the flame spreader 4 and also can have a head 85 which is made of magnetized or ferromagnetic material. Preferably, in a possible embodiment (see fig. 9a - 9d), each second element 80, made of ferromagnetic or magnetized material, is integrated directly on the bottom of the flame spreader 4 and, in particular, is defined by at least one corresponding zone of the bottom of the flame spreader itself. Preferably, in a possible embodiment, the flame spreader 4 can be entirely made of ferromagnetic material.
In some preferred embodiments such as those illustrated in particular in Figures 1a - 1d to 3a - 3c, each element 80 comprises a nut 81, preferably blind, which is made of ferromagnetic material and which engages at the end of the fastening member 59, once the latter has passed through a corresponding through opening 54 made in the flame spreader. Preferably, in this case, at least the terminal portion of each fastening member 59 is threaded to allow the nut 81 to be screwed. Advantageously, the nut 81 in ferromagnetic material has a greater mass than the pin 60 alone, thus defining a greater force magnetic connection with a corresponding first element 70 made of magnetized material mounted on the injector holder 6.
Advantageously, therefore, the burner 2 comprises locking means which are configured to join together the flame spreader 4 and lid 8 so as to thus define an assembly 100. Conveniently, said locking means can comprise at least one fastening member 59 associated with the lid 8 and which engages - by screwing or by interlocking - in a corresponding opening 54 which is blind and which is made in the flame spreader 4 (see fig. 4a - 4d) or they can comprise at least one fastening member 59 associated with the lid 8 and which, after passing through a corresponding a through opening 54 and obtained in the flame spreader 4, it engages with a fastening member, for example a nut, which preferably (but not necessarily) is defined by the second element 80 of the magnetic connection means. Advantageously, in this way the lid and the flame spreader define a single assembly 100 which is easier and quicker to remove. In particular, these locking means are configured to lock together the flame spreader 4 and the lid 8 both laterally and vertically (ie along the overlapping I resting direction of the lid 8 on the flame spreader 4).
Preferably, these locking means are defined by each fastening member 59 which is associated with the lid 8 and which passes through a corresponding opening 54, which is through and formed in the flame spreader, and are also defined by a fastening member which is advantageously defined by second element 80, preferably shaped like nut 81 , which engages with the fastening member 59 associated with the lid, since in this way the flame spreader 4 is substantially held / clamped between the lid and the second element 80, preferably defined by the nut 81.
In a possible embodiment (see fig. 9a - 9d), the second elements 80 made of ferromagnetic material, preferably of ferrous material, are integrated on the bottom of the same flame spreader 4. Preferably, the entire flame spreader 4 is made of ferromagnetic material, preferably of ferrous material. Conveniently, the first elements 70 are made of magnetized material, preferably they are defined by magnets, and are mounted on the injector holder 6.
Conveniently, in this case, the lid 8 can be constrained to the flame spreader 4 independently of the second elements 80 and the first elements 70 which magnetically connect the flame spreader 4 to the injector holder 6. Preferably, the lid 8 can be locked to the flame spreader 4 by means of at least one fastening member 59 which is defined by a screw 61 which engages with its head in a seat 62 obtained in the lid 8 and which engages with the terminal threaded portion within an opening 54, which is blind and internally threaded, made in the flame spreader 4. Conveniently, it is understood that - both for the embodiment of figs. 4a - 4d that for that of figures 9a - 9d - the fastening member 59 could also be welded to the lower face of the lid 8 and pass through an opening 54, which is through, obtained in the flame spreader 4 and then engages with a tightening, such as a nut.
The operation of the burner according to the invention is traditional in that the gas coming from the duct 20 escapes from the injector 22 and enters the vertical duct 42 of the flame spreader 4, dragging with it the primary air sucked from above or below the hob 10.
Advantageously, in the possible embodiments of the burner in which the primary air is sucked from above the hob 10, the burner itself is practically insensitive to the phenomenon of streaming. Advantageously, the flow of gas and primary air that begins to mix in the vertical duct 42 then completes its mixing in the corresponding radial venturi chamber 40, delimited at the top by the lid 8.
The mixture thus obtained, which is formed inside the mixing chamber 40, then feeds the ring of flames that comes out of the doors 52 of the flame spreader 4.
It should in any case be pointed out that, depending on the needs of the market, the burner can be equipped with or without a spark plug 19 and / or a thermocouple 21.
From what has been said it is clear that the burner according to the invention is somewhat more advantageous than the traditional burners installed in the cooking hobs of caravans, boats and vehicles in general, and in particular: - it has a particularly pleasant overall aesthetic effect given that, once assembled, it is externally similar to traditional burners, with the only visible portion consisting of the fully enamelled upper surface of the lid,
- once the injector holder has been fixed to the hob, the assembly and I or disassembly of the lid-flame spreader assembly on the injector holder itself is particularly quick and simple and does not require any special tools,
- it is quite simple and inexpensive to make.
The present invention has been illustrated and described in some of its preferred embodiments, but it is understood that executive variations may be applied to them in practice, without however departing from the scope of protection of the present patent for industrial invention.
