Definitions
- the invention relates to a mobile drying system for drying biomass, such as sewage sludge.
- the invention also relates to a drying system.
- the biomass can also be milk sludge, spent grains, fermentation residues, manure, animal manure or biogas manure.
- the biomass can also be moistened or moisture-containing mass or sludge or moistened or moisture-containing parts or granules, such as metal chips or wood chips.
- Drying systems for drying biomass are known per se. However, these known drying systems are always stationary. However, these stationary drying systems have various disadvantages, such as expensive, complex and time-consuming construction and approval processes. For example, for sewage treatment plant operators who depend on the drying of biomass, it is often not worth building a stationary drying plant or there are not enough funds available for it.
- the invention is therefore based on the object of providing a new drying installation and a new drying system, in particular a drying installation and a drying system, which at least largely avoid the aforementioned disadvantages.
- the mobile drying system according to the invention for drying biomass in particular for drying sewage sludge, comprises a drying chamber for drying biomass, the drying chamber having a feed device for biomass, and the drying chamber having an ejection device for dried biomass, in particular dry granulate.
- the drying system according to the invention is characterized in that the drying chamber is a truck body that is placed or can be placed on a truck chassis.
- chassis of a truck trailer is considered in particular.
- the drying system can be used in the mounted state, that is to say mounted on a truck chassis.
- the truck chassis is removed for the operation of the drying system.
- the drying chamber designed as a truck body can be placed reversibly on the truck chassis, and can therefore also be removed from the truck chassis again after placement.
- the advantages of the invention are in particular that the drying system according to the invention can be used anywhere and at any time to ensure the disposal of sludge.
- the drying system is installed on a truck chassis and is therefore mobile, flexible and fully operational within a short time at the respective destination.
- the drying system ensures environmentally friendly homogenization - in compliance with all regulations.
- the drying plant offers a CO2-positive disposal process with drying directly at the sewage treatment plant. Sewage treatment plant operators can use the technology according to the invention directly at the desired location. Using automated conveyor systems, the dewatered sludge can be discharged directly into a container that is carried along and the granulate can be disposed of after drying. The resulting reduction in weight of the dewatered sludge leads to a significant reduction in disposal costs.
- An integrated control and display device of the drying system is expediently provided, which preferably provides information at any time about the drying phases, the current temperature and the degree of drying achieved.
- sludge with a drying base between TS 18% and TS 60% can be fed to the drying system and the control device can be set up accordingly and supply the correspondingly dewatered sludge to the drying system by means of an automated feed.
- the control device can, for example, also be set up in such a way that dewatered sludge from a degree of dryness of about TS 22% or TS 23% to TS 25% is fed into the drying system by means of an automated feed.
- various filter techniques can be integrated for the drying process.
- a special air duct that is preferably provided in the drying chamber regulates the exchange of air, so that the energy supplied can be used in the best possible way for the water discharge and the water can exit the cell quickly. It can also be provided that the system regulates the optimum dew point by constantly monitoring the residual moisture, keeping the circulating air dry and adjusting the heating output. For most types of sludge, drying does not require filters. Due to the type and speed of drying, the formation of new odors due to bacterial activity in the warm, humid environment is reduced to a minimum, because the bacteria dry out and not as in conventional systems temperatures above 70°C. Ideally, waste heat available at the operating site, from the exhaust air, for example via an exhaust air tower, excess heat recovered, alternative sources and/or heat obtained from wood chips etc. should be considered for operating the system. Although the dryer needs a little more heat in winter, the consumption is amortized over the course of the year.
- Sludges from about TS 22% or TS 23% to TS 25% can be treated cost-effectively and decentrally at low flow temperatures of 57°C to 90°C, in particular 60°C to 90°C or 57°C to 75°C, effectively up to TS 90% and beyond can be dried. Ideally, excess heat is used for heating. In this way, for example, the optimal contact temperature of approx. 56°C is achieved, which means that the gluing phase is skipped.
- the drying system according to the invention represents a flexible combination of low-temperature contact drying and convection drying, which dries the sludge quickly and energy-efficiently to TS 90% and beyond using a special turning technique.
- the drying chamber is designed as a truck trailer and/or manufactured in a trailer design.

- the air supply heating devices can also be connected to this hot water network.
- the hot water network can be supplied with water, for example, by means of the fluid connection.
- the drying chamber has one or more moisture sensors for determining the moisture content of the biomass and/or one or more moisture sensors for determining the humidity in the drying chamber and/or outside the drying chamber and/or one or more temperature sensors for determining the air temperature in the drying chamber and/or outside the drying chamber.
- the drying chamber can have a control and/or regulating device which is used for signal transmission with the moisture sensors and/or the temperature sensors and/or the air supply heating devices and/or air supply fans for supplying air into the drying chamber and/or air discharge fans for discharging air from the drying chamber and/or drying surface heating devices and/or drive devices of the conveyor devices and/or closing flaps of the air ducts and/or a feed device for the biomass to be dried.
- This control and/or regulating device can be set up in such a way that measured values from the humidity sensors and/or the temperature sensors can be processed or are processed by means of the signal transmission and, on the basis of this processing, control signals are sent to the air supply heating devices and/or air supply fans by means of the signal transmission and/or the air discharge fan(s) and/or the drying surface heating device(s) and/or the drive device(s) of the conveyor device(s) and/or the closing flaps of the air ducts and/or the feed device(s) for the biomass to be dried can be or will be transferred.
- control and/or regulating device With this control and/or regulating device, high-quality dry granules can be produced as a usable product from the biomass to be dried, in particular the sewage sludge, with a decisive point being the consistent quality of the dry granules ensured by the control and/or regulating device.
- the main features here are the grain size, the degree of drying and the material throughput.
- the control and/or regulating device can react to changing conditions, for example external weather conditions or changing moisture content of the biomass in different drying stages when passing through the drying chamber, and for example the air flow, the temperature of the Adjust the air and/or the drying surfaces, the material addition and/or the conveying speed.
- Corresponding software is stored in the control and/or regulating device for this purpose.
- the control and/or regulating device checks the performance of the drying at various points in the drying chamber using the measured values of the moisture sensors provided there for the biomass. If the result deviates from a desired setpoint and the drying capacity is too low, i.e. the biomass is too moist, the temperature of the drying surface heating device can be increased in a first step, i.e. the energy input via the drying surface heating devices is increased elevated. If that is not enough, then the air supply heating devices in the air supply can be switched on or their temperature can be increased in order to heat the supply air and thereby introduce more energy into the drying chamber.
- control and/or regulating device can reduce the drive devices of the conveying devices and at the same time the amount of biomass supplied. Although this reduces the amount of material processed per unit of time, the residence time of the biomass in the drying chamber increases, which leads to greater drying.
- control and/or regulating device determines that the moisture in the biomass is too low, the aforementioned steps and measures can be reversed, typically in reverse order, and the energy input into the drying chamber is reduced. If that is not enough because the outside conditions (high temperature and low humidity) are too good, additional flaps provided on the air ducts can throttle the supply air flow. For this purpose, each air supply can be equipped with a closable flap.
- the control and/or regulating device can also be set up to specify a desired moisture content of the dried biomass.
- end products can be manufactured with different properties, i.e. it is possible to respond to the different requirements of the buyers of the products. be greedy.
- the end product is in demand as a fuel, with different kilns making different demands on the moisture content of the fuel used and thus of the end product in the drying chamber.
- the control and/or regulating device then controls and/or regulates the drying chamber so that the specification is reliably met and the end product, the dried biomass, has the desired quality.
- the drying chamber has one or more comminution devices, in particular shredders, for comminuting the biomass during drying, in particular at the transition between two drying areas, for example from the upper drying area to the lower drying area, and/or at the end of drying , In particular before leaving the drying chamber, preferably for producing a defined particle size.
- the crushing device is driven by one of the conveyor devices.
- the comminution devices can be adjusted so that end products of different particle sizes can be produced, in accordance with the respective requirements.
- a further development of the invention provides that at least four or at least eight or at least sixteen drying surface pairs are arranged one above the other in such a way that the biomass can be conveyed or is being conveyed over all drying surfaces in succession and in this way from the lower drying surface of the respective upper drying surface pair to the upper drying surface of the respective lower drying surface pair falls until the lower drying surface of the lowest drying surface pair is reached.
- Such vertical configurations of the drying chamber with a large number of drying surfaces arranged one above the other allow efficient use to be made of an existing installation surface. Due to this design, a comparatively small area is also sufficient for setting up the drying chamber, which can nevertheless achieve a high drying capacity, since the available Drying area multiplied according to the number of drying areas arranged one above the other.
- a conveyor belt or a sludge pump or a spindle or a screw is provided for feeding the biomass to be dried onto the upper drying surface of the uppermost pair of drying surfaces.
- the ejection device is expediently provided below the lower drying surface of the lowermost pair of drying surfaces in the drying chamber.
