Description

Fourth Contact Point for Child Car Seats
Technical Field
The invention relates to car seats that are used to ensure the safety of the child traveling in the car in case of a possible traffic accident, sudden braking or sudden manoeuvre.
Prior Art
In cars, car seats are used to ensure the safety of babies and children traveling in a possible traffic accident or sudden braking. Car seats are also called a baby safety seat, child safety system, child safety seat, infant seat, car chair or booster seat. These seats are specially designed to protect children from injury or death during vehicle collisions.
Child car seats are usually purchased externally by vehicle owners and mounted on the vehicle seat. Many states in the world require children to use safety seats according to age, weight and/or height. In order for the child safety seat to provide full protection, it must be installed and used correctly. Manufacturers provide written and visual explanations for correct installation and use.
In 1990, the ISO standard ISOFIX was introduced to provide a standard in child car seats for the fastening of car seats to different car brands. In 2013, a new car seat regulation known as “i-size” was published. I-size is part of the ECE R129 regulation. R129 is the European standard for enhanced child car seats. With the I- size regulation, it is aimed that child car seats provide better protection against shocks.
Depending on the position of the child and the type of seat, the types of child car seats may vary. There are five car seat groups, namely group 0, group 0+, group 1, group 2 and group 3, which are determined according to the weight and height of the children.
By making some changes in child/baby car seats, the car seat group can be upgraded or downgraded. In the mentioned group transitions, the three-point seat belt and the five-point seat belt in the car seat are replaced.
A safe child car seat is mentioned in the Korean patent with the code KR101026860B1 in the prior art. Said car seat consists of a three-point seat belt and a locking device. The three-point seat belt covers the shoulder, chest and waist of a child in a safety seat from a single-point fastening part and joins them in a three-point separation part. The three-point harness covers a child's pelvis from the two-point fastening part and is joined to the three-point separation part. The locking device prevents the three-point seat belt from detaching from a child's shoulder, chest and waist. In the said car seat, a single claw structure is used to hold the car seat belt. The car seat belt may come off with the intervention of the child or in case of braking, manoeuvring or accident. Complete security cannot be provided.
Three-point seat belts are used in the prior art, especially in group 2 and group 3. Three-point seat belts used in the prior art have a single-claw structure. The single claw three-point seat belt may not hold the vehicle seat belt and may not fully ensure the safety of the child/baby during sudden braking or an accident. In addition, with the intervention of the child, the seatbelt may come off. A safer structure is obtained with the fourth contact point with multiple claws.
Purpose of the Invention
The purpose of the invention is to obtain an easy-to-use, safe child car seat in order to prevent the car seat belt (40) from detaching from the fourth contact point (20) in the event of any sudden braking, manoeuvring or accident, or with the intervention of the child.
Another aim of the invention is to obtain a child car seat that minimizes the shock force applied to the abdomen in the event of a frontal collision. The car seat developed to achieve the mentioned purposes includes a fourth contact point (20) with a double-sided hook-like upper claw (23) and a lower claw (24), each of which extends towards each other.

Explanation of the Invention
The invention relates to car seats that are used to ensure the safety of the child traveling in the car in case of a possible traffic accident, sudden braking or sudden manoeuvre. The child car seat that is the subject of the invention includes a body
(10) with a slot (11) and a fourth contact point (20).
There is a slot (11) in the child car seat body (10), which is the subject of the invention, so that the fourth contact point (20) can enter. The slot (11) is used to keep the seat belt connection that will not be used during group transition. The slot
(11) is large enough to contain the fourth contact point (20) and the five-point belt connection (30).
The sloth (11) has a cover (12). After the fourth contact point (20) or the five-point belt connection (30) is placed in the slot (11), the cover (12) is closed. The cover
(12) and the belt connections are prevented from harming the child/baby.
The fourth contact point (20) includes the upper claw (23) and the lower claw (24). The mentioned fourth contact point (20) is used especially in group 2 and group 3. The car seat belt (40) is passed between the upper claw (23) and the lower claw (24), and is attached to the seat belt buckle located in the vehicle. With the upper claw (23) and the lower claw (24), the car seat belt (40) is prevented from being separated from the fourth contact point (20) in the event of an accident. Besides, with the intervention of the child, the car seat belt (40) is prevented from detaching from the fourth contact point (20). In alternative embodiments of the invention, the number of upper claw (23) and lower claws (24) may vary.
The fourth contact point (20) is connected to the body (10) by the crotch buckle (21). The crotch buckle (21) secures the child to the car seat. With the said crotch buckle (21) the child/baby is prevented from being thrown forward, slipping and hitting the front seat in case of a possible accident or sudden braking of the vehicle. In addition, the shock force applied to the abdomen is minimized in the event of a frontal collision through the fourth contact point (20) which has the upper claw (23) and the lower claw (24).
The upper claw (23) and the lower claw (24) located at the fourth contact point (20) are bent towards each other. It has the appearance of a double-sided hook extending towards each other. In this way, the car seat belt (40) is prevented from being dislodged by up-down and right-left movements. The crotch buckle (21) is fixed to the fourth contact point (20) via the crotch buckle channel (26). A sponge made of soft material is used on the crotch buckle (21) so that the child/baby does not feel uncomfortable.
The fourth contact point (20) includes the belt transition gap (25). Car seat belt (40) is passed through said belt transition gap (25). The belt transition gap (25) is of such a width and size that the car seat belt (40) can only be inserted into it.

3. The body (10) mentioned in Claim 2 and characterized in that; including a cover (12) that prevents the three-point belt connection (20) and/or the five- point belt connection (30) from harming the child/baby.
4. The fourth contact point (20) mentioned in Claim 1 and characterized in that; including a belt transition gap (25) large enough for the car seat belt (40) to enter.
5. The three-point belt connection (20) mentioned in Claim 1, and characterized in that; including a crotch buckle (21) that prevents the child/baby from throwing forward, slipping and hitting the front seat in case of a possible accident or sudden braking of the vehicle.
6. The child/baby car seat mentioned in Claim 1 and characterized in that; including the crotch buckle channel (26) that enables crotch buckle (21) to be fixed to the fourth contact point (20).
