Abstract

The present invention relates to a washing machine (1) comprising a body (2); a top panel (4) which covers the body (2); a control card (3) which is positioned between the top panel (4) and the body (3) and which controls the washing programs; and a protective cover (5) which protects the control card (3) against external factors such as fire, water and dust.

Description

    A WASHING MACHINE COMPRISING A PROTECTIVE COVER
  • The present invention relates to a washing machine having a cover which provides protection against fire, water and dust and which can be mounted to the top panel easily.
  • In washing machines, the body comprises a lower panel where components such as tub, drum, etc. wherein the washing cycle is performed, side walls which surrounds the lower panel and an upper panel which covers the top of the side walls.
  • The washing machines comprise a control card group to control the washing preferences of the user and accordingly, the operation of the washing machine. Said control card group is positioned between the rear side of the display which enables the user to make selections regarding the washing process and the top panel of the washing machine. The washing machines comprises a protective cover which prevents a possible flame in the control card group from spreading to the plastic top panel, and also prevents water, dirt or any other material on the top panel from entering the control card. In general, the protective cover is produced from a fireproof material.
  • In the state of the art, the protective cover is placed and mounted by being screwed under the section, extending towards the top panel, of a front panel which covers the control card group. In this case, he protective cover is grouped with the control card and then screwed, and after the grouping process, the top cover is mounted so as to cover the protective cover. In this method, the mounting of the protective cover to the washing machine takes more time and becomes difficult.
  • The state of the art Chinese Patent Application No. CN105088669 discloses the mounting of a control panel protection means which provides protection against dust, dirt and fire, and a washing machine which comprises said protection means.
  • The aim of the present invention is the realization of a washing machine comprising a cover which can be mounted to the top panel easily and which protects the control card group against factors such as fire, water and dust.
  • The washing machine of the present invention comprises the protective cover having at least one claw and the top cover having at least one housing suitable for engaging with the claws. The protective cover is mounted to the top panel so as to cover the control card.
  • The protective cover comprises at least one claw on one side thereof which can engage with the housings arranged an edge region of the top panel and which enable the protective cover and the top panel to be removed from each other.
  • The protective cover further comprises a centering hole. The centering hole engages with a post on the top panel. By means of the centering hole and the post which engage with each other, the protective cover is directly aligned with the top panel in the mounting position so as to cover the control card.
  • In the washing machine of the present invention, the top panel comprises at least one rib which provides a firm connection with the protective cover. In this embodiment, the protective cover comprises at least one channel which can be engaged with the rib. Thus, when the top panel and the protective cover are mounted, the protective cover is not affected by any vibration which may occur in the machine.
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, the rib on the top panel has a recess. The protective cover comprises a first extension which is inserted into said recess. The first extension allows the protective cover to move on the top panel along the width of the recess in y-y’ axis, and limits further movement. Thus, in case of a vibration or an external effect, the protective cover is prevented from displacing from the position wherein the protective cover covers and protects the control card.
  • In another embodiment of the present invention, a barrier is provided on one edge of the top panel. The protective cover comprises a second extension provided in the region corresponding to said barrier. The barrier and the second extension are positioned relative to each other so as to prevent the movement of the protective cover on the top panel in the x-x’ axis. Thus, in case of a vibration or an external effect, the protective cover is prevented from displacing from the position wherein the protective cover covers and protects the control card.
  • By means of the present invention, a washing machine is realized, wherein the top panel and the protective cover are mounted in a shorter time without using screws.
  • The model embodiments relating to the washing machine realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention are illustrated in the attached figures, where:

  • Figure 3 - is the perspective view of the top panel inner surface which is mounted to the protective cover in the washing machine of the present invention.
  • Figure 4 - is the perspective view of the cover surface which is mounted to the top panel in the washing machine of the present invention.
  • Figure 5 - is the perspective view of the protective cover and the top panel in the assembled state in the washing machine of the present invention.

  • The washing machine (1) comprises a body (2); a top panel (4) which covers the body (2); a control card (3) which is positioned between the top panel (4) and the body (3) and which controls the washing programs; and a protective cover (5) which protects the control card (3) against external factors such as fire, water and dust.
  • The washing machine (1) of the present invention comprises the protective cover (5) having at least one claw (9) for mounting directly to the top panel (4), and the top panel (4) having at least one housing (8) suitable for engaging with the claw (9).
  • In the washing machine (1) of the present invention, the claw (9) provided on the protective cover (5) engages with the housing (8) which is arranged on the top panel (4) and which is suitable for inserting the claw (9). The protective cover (5) is produced from a fireproof material and protects the control card (3) against factors such as fire, dust and water. As the claw (9) is fitted into the housing (8), the protective cover (5) is directly grouped with the top panel (4) without being aligned in the region above the control card (3) and without being attached to the body (2) by means of fixing members such as screws, etc. The top panel (4) which is grouped with the protective cover (5) is mounted to the body (2). Thus, the protective cover (5) is mounted without the need for using an additional connection member or without placing the protective cover (5) above the control card (3) in the body (2).
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, the washing machine (1) comprises the protective cover (5) having at least one centering hole (6) so as to enable the protective cover (5) to be aligned in a position on the top panel (4) in a manner to cover the control card (3), and the top panel (4) having a post (7) which is inserted into the centering hole (6). Thus, the operator can align the protective cover (5) quickly so as to cover the control card (3).
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, the washing machine (1) comprises the top panel (4) having a rib (10) so as to prevent the protective cover (5) from being affected from vibrations and enable the same to be firmly placed onto the top panel (4), and the protective cover (5) having a channel (11) which is suitable for engaging with the rib (10).
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, the washing machine (1) comprises the protective cover (5) having a first extension (13) which prevents the protective cover (5) from moving in the vertical axis (y-y’) in the top panel (4), and the top panel (4) having a rib (10) which has a recess (12) limiting the movement of the first extension (13) in the vertical axis (y-y’). Thus, after being mounted in the top panel (4), the protective cover (5) is allowed to move in the y-y’ plane only as much as the width of the recess (12).
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, the washing machine (1) comprises the protective cover (5) having a second extension (14) which prevents the protective cover (5) from moving in the horizontal axis (x-x’) in the top panel (4), and the top panel (4) having a barrier (15) which prevents the second extension (14) from moving. Thereby, after being mounted in the top panel (4), the protective cover (5) does not move in the x-x’ horizontal plane and the protective cover (5) is enabled to be mounted securely.
  • By means of the present invention, a washing machine (1) is realized, comprising a protective cover (5) which is mounted directly to the top panel (4) without using screws.

Claims (5)

  1. A washing machine (1) comprising a body (2); a top panel (4) which covers the body (2); a control card (3) which is positioned between the top panel (4) and the body (3) and which controls the washing programs; and a protective cover (5) which protects the control card (3) against external factors such as fire, water and dust, characterized by the protective cover (5) having at least one claw (9) for mounting directly to the top panel (4), and the top panel (4) having at least one housing (8) suitable for engaging with the claw (9).
  2. A washing machine (1) as in Claim 1, characterized by the protective cover (5) having at least one centering hole (6) so as to enable the protective cover (5) to be aligned in a position on the top panel (4) in a manner to cover the control card (3), and the top panel (4) having a post (7) which is inserted into the centering hole (6).
  3. A washing machine (1) as in Claim 1 or 2, characterized by the top panel (4) having a rib (10) so as to prevent the protective cover (5) from being affected from vibrations and enable the same to be firmly placed onto the top panel (4), and the protective cover (5) having a channel (11) which is suitable for engaging with the rib (10).
  4. A washing machine (1) as in any one of the Claims 1 to 3, characterized by the protective cover (5) having a first extension (13) which prevents the protective cover (5) from moving in the vertical axis (y-y’) in the top panel (4), and the top panel (4) having a rib (10) which has a recess (12) limiting the movement of the first extension (13) in the vertical axis (y-y’).
  5. A washing machine (1) as in any one of the above claims, characterized by the protective cover (5) having a second extension (14) which prevents the protective cover (5) from moving in the horizontal axis (x-x’) in the top panel (4), and the top panel (4) having a barrier (15) which prevents the second extension (14) from moving.
