Definitions
- the invention relates to a transportable (portable and / or rollable) device for processing a surface, in particular the running surface, a runner, in particular a skate runner, according to the preamble of claim 1, according to the preamble of claim 6, according to the preamble of claim 9 , according to the preamble of claim 10 and according to the preamble of claim 11.
- the device comprises an electric drive, which is arranged in a housing, in particular as a portable and / or rollable case, for rotating a polishing pad rotatably mounted in the housing formed surface treatment agent.
- the device further comprises a control device, which is arranged in the housing and has actuating means, for controlling / regulating the drive of the surface treatment agent.
- the invention also relates to a method according to claim 15, ie a method for processing a surface of a blade, in particular an ice skate blade, in particular with a device described herein. Finally, the invention relates to a skate blade according to the preamble of claim 22.
- the invention is based on the object of specifying measures with which the maintenance of ice skates, in particular ice skate blades, is simplified, improved, in particular with regard to the sliding property of the blade, and thereby becomes more reproducible.
- This object is achieved by a transportable device for processing a surface of a runner, in particular a skate runner, according to claim 1.
- the surface to be processed essentially relates to the running surface of the runner, ie that narrow side of the runner which faces the ice surface on which it is intended to slide.
- the surface processing agent accordingly has a processing zone in the area of the circumference which has a cross-sectional area with a slope and / or a taper and / or a chamfer and / or a rounding.
- the device is able to polish the (already ground) runner, in particular to polish it to a high gloss, as a result of which the surface (running surface) of the runner receives an, in particular high-gloss, machining finish.
- a high-gloss polished running surface of the runner has a reflective sheen and a correspondingly smooth (running) surface.
- the runner with finish machining has better running and sliding properties and, thanks to the features of the device described herein, these improved surface properties of the runner compared to the prior art can also be reproduced at any time at the place of use of the runner.
- the surface processing agent can preferably comprise a textile fiber material such as felt, in particular wax and / or a diamond additive, for example diamond dust, or be formed from textile fiber material such as felt, in particular wax containing.
- a textile fiber material such as felt, in particular wax and / or a diamond additive, for example diamond dust
- be formed from textile fiber material such as felt, in particular wax containing Excellent sliding properties are achieved when the processing zone of the surface treatment agent is slightly narrower than the blade width (sliding on the ice surface), so that the edges of the blade (sliding on the ice surface) remain unprocessed when the surface of the blade is processed.
- the rotating surface treatment agent is arranged under a shield and / or in a cage, so that only a segment of the surface treatment agent is accessible during machining.
- the rotating surface processing agent can be safely operated at high speed and high torque. Since only one area of the rotating surface treatment means is accessible during the surface treatment, deviations in operation are avoided and the surface treatment always takes place in the same way, that is to say with an almost identical position of the runner relative to the surface treatment means. It can be provided that the surface treatment agent is changed, in particular when it is worn.
- the processing zone of the surface processing agent is that area with which the runner is processed, i. H. the outer area of the polishing or grinding wheel. It can be the case that the processing zone is composed of a different material than the rest of the disk, for example a harder material or a softer material. Due to the shape of the cross section of the processing zone with bevels or bevels or with tapering or tapering or with one or two bevels on the edges of the processing zone, a suitable adaptation of the shape of the processing zone to the shape or contour of the surface of the runner, or almost to it, is possible, in particular an (almost) complementary contour (example: curvature in the processing zone geometrically matching the curvature of a hollow section or a hollow shape).
- An even smooth polish is also possible, the surface of the runner being at least partially flat.
- a surface image with a curvature is also achieved, either concave (for example in the case of a hollow cut) or convex (for example in the case of a curved cut). It is also possible to achieve a profile with an outwardly tapering runner, in which the contact surface is less than the thickness (width) of the runner.
- the shield and / or the cage can be at least partially opened for maintenance purposes, in particular for adjusting or replacing the surface treatment agent, in particular by means of a hinged and / or rotatable and / or displaceable maintenance cover.
- a guide means is provided for guiding the runner during the surface treatment of the runner, the guide means preferably comprising at least one guide plane and / or at least one guide rail.
- the position and / or inclination of the runner are defined by the guide means and each runner is polished under almost identical geometric conditions. In this way, a reproducible surface processing result is achieved, especially because angle-related deviations from the desired surface appearance remain under. It can be useful if the guide means comprises a holder for the runner and / or the ice skate.
- the spatial position of the guide plane and / or the guide rail and / or the holder can be mechanically changeable, in particular adjustable, in at least one direction in space, preferably in three mutually perpendicular directions in space (x, y, z).
- Either the runner or the skate is fixed in the holder, for example with fixing screws or with a clamping arrangement.
- the guide means with a fixed runner or with a fixed shoe is then guided along the polishing wheel in a controlled manner, for example on the guide plane which is part of the device.
- the holder of the runner and / or the guide plane can be movably adjustable in one or more spatial directions, for example with a combination of several (screw-mechanical) inclination adjusters on the holder and / or management level.
- the transportable device comprises a preferably positionable lighting means, the edge of the runner is always processed under identical lighting conditions.
- a reproducible surface treatment result can also be achieved in an environment that is not brightly lit. This is of particular relevance, for example, when the runner is used at a sporting event, i. H. in ice hockey or speed skating or figure skating should be worked on during a break or immediately before the event, which is usually done in less well-lit lounge or changing rooms.
- At least one grinding means and / or grinding module is provided for rough machining of the skate blade, so that grinding can be carried out before the surface polishing or finishing machining.
- the runner is thus first ground with the device (rough treatment of the runner surface) and then (high-gloss) polished (finish machining of the surface).
- an excellent surface treatment result is achieved for a heavily worn or heavily stressed runner.
- an optional grinding module can have its own drive and / or its own control and / or its own housing, so that the grinding module and polishing module can be transported separately, for example in a modularly designed, multi-part housing or transport case. This makes the weight of the device easier to handle when it is being transported.
- Each module can have its own mains connection and can therefore be operated independently of the other module.
- a common power supply for both modules can also be provided.
- the modules can be coupled to one another by means of a module connection, wherein the module connection can comprise mechanical and / or electrical connecting elements.
- a positioning aid in particular optical or laser-optical, is provided for positioning / aligning the runner and / or the ice skate and / or the surface treatment means.
- the positioning aid can, for example, project a laser-optical marking onto a (if necessary scaled) reference surface in or on the device or in or on the device housing, with the help of which the blade / skate and / or a guide means of the device (blade holder) is positioned at a target position for the surface treatment respectively can be adjusted.
- the control device comprises a control and / or regulating device for controlling / regulating the speed of the surface treatment agent.
- the control means / regulating means can also keep the speed constant during machining. If necessary, a desired speed can be set.
- the control means can furthermore comprise an emergency stop switch, with which the device, in particular the drive, is switched off. With the emergency stop function, the device also fulfills the necessary safety requirements.
- the drive preferably comprises an alternating current motor, for example an alternating current motor for an alternating voltage of 230 V, in particular with a power of at least 250 watts.
- the surface treatment agent rotates at a speed of at least 3,000 revolutions / minute (U / M).
- U / M revolutions / minute
- a speed range between around 3,200 rpm and 4,400 rpm has proven to be particularly useful with regard to optimal finishing of the runner.
- the uniformity of the action of the drive can be given in particular by controlling / regulating the peripheral speed. This makes it possible to compensate for geometric changes in the polishing wheel, for example a reduced diameter in the event of material stress caused by the polishing.
- At least one coolant can be provided, in particular at least one fan, which is arranged on the housing and / or in the housing so that the heat generated during the surface treatment can be dissipated.
- the heat that is given off by the drive and / or by the controller and / or by the surface treatment means can thus be dissipated, that is to say given off into the surroundings of the housing. A build-up of heat in the housing is thus avoided.
- a thermal sensor at least one Components of the drive of the device are de-energized so that the relevant safety requirements are met.
- the housing can be set up in a height-adjustable manner, in particular by means of a height-adjustable table.
- the height-adjustable table can be part of the housing or can be connected to the housing. It can also be provided that the housing itself is height-adjustable, for example by means of height-adjustable feet or a height-adjustable frame.
- the device comprises at least one or more rechargeable electric batteries. This is particularly advantageous when the device is to be operated at a location where no electrical power connection is available. This is regularly the case in ice rinks or ice rink facilities, especially in the adjacent lounge areas or waiting areas.
- the processing can take place by means of a device described herein.
- a surface processing agent formed as a polishing disk is provided.
- a polishing disk can be used for this.
- a processing zone in the area of the circumference of the surface treatment agent is machined and / or shaped in such a way that the surface treatment agent has a circumferential area with a cross section and / or with a bevel and / or with a taper and / or with a bevel.
- the processing zone of the polishing wheel therefore has a contour which fits or almost fits the dimensions of the runner in a special way, and which allows a desired profile image (similar to a hollow grind, vaulted grind, smooth grind, or similar to a grind) to be created on the runner inclined course) can be generated.
- the surface processing agent is set in rotation.
- the runner is guided along the circumferential area of the rotating surface treatment means.
- the drive axis of the surface treatment agent is preferably stationary, ie the axis rests within the housing of the treatment device so that the skate or the runner is moved, but not the axis or position of the rotating surface treatment agent.
- the surface (running surface) of the runner is processed in such a way that the runner glides better, ie faster and / or more stable, over the ice surface.
- the wearer of the skate of a blade that has been processed in this way can drive faster, i.e. he requires less force, and he can turn more stable, that is, the blade does not slide as easily to the side when the edge is loaded across the direction of travel, which stabilizes the skating.
- the runner can be guided along such that the preferred direction of movement of the runner (corresponding to a forward sliding movement) and the direction of rotation of the circumferential area run in opposite directions or in the same direction.
- the runner can accordingly be guided along the polishing wheel against the direction of rotation or with the direction of rotation.
- an opposite direction of movement is provided, with the runner being guided along the polishing wheel against the direction of rotation with regard to the desired high-gloss polishing result. So it can work in opposite directions or processed simultaneously, depending on the desired profile picture or grinding result.
- a profile image or surface finish can be created in the runner, which, based on the cross-section of the runner, has at least one slope, preferably two opposing slopes, which forms a hollow profile or a hollow shape, and / or which has a contour, preferably one or more curvatures which form a hollow profile (hollow shape), and / or a recess which forms a hollow profile (hollow shape).
- a polishing agent for example a polishing paste.
- the paste can contain microparticles and / or nanoparticles, which participate in the polishing process.
- the runner provision is made for the runner to be shiny, in particular high-gloss, at least in some areas after the surface has been processed.
- the gloss of the runner goes hand in hand with a particularly advantageous sliding and running properties of the corresponding ice skate.
- the shiny area of the runner is visually perceived by the user, so that he can immediately distinguish a surface-processed runner from an unprocessed one.
- the (arithmetic) mean roughness value R a of the machined runner surface is at least in some areas less than approx. 0.1 ⁇ m, in particular less than approx. 0.035 ⁇ m, preferably less than 0.025 ⁇ m.
- the mean roughness value R a corresponds to an average value of the deviation of the rough surface profile from a reference variable.
- a value R a test of 0.03 ⁇ m was determined. A runner with a surface of this quality and the resulting improved running properties is unprecedented in the prior art.
- the method can furthermore be designed in such a way that the (averaged) roughness depth R z of the machined runner surface is less than approximately 0.5 ⁇ m, in particular less than approximately 0.25 ⁇ m.
- the mean roughness depth R z is an average of several individual roughness depths, with several successive individual measurements being provided depending on the measuring method. In at least one experimental check of the surface quality of a skate blade, the surface of which was polished with the device described herein, an R z test value of 0.2 ⁇ m was determined.
- FIG Figure 1A A front view of a transportable, ie portable, device 1 for processing a surface 2 of a (ice skate) blade 3 can be seen in FIG Figure 1A can be removed.
- the device 1 comprises a housing 4 in which an electric drive for rotatingly driving a surface treatment agent 5 is arranged.

- the disc 5 is exchangeable and arranged on a drive shaft 6 which is connected to the drive.
- the polishing wheel 5 is arranged in a shield 7 which comprises a maintenance cover 8 which can be opened and which is arranged on at least one hinge. In order to replace the polishing wheel 5, the maintenance cover 8 is opened. In the closed state, the maintenance cover 8 rests on a cover support 9.
- the open maintenance cover 8 can Figure 1B can be removed.
- Figure 1B also shows that the polishing wheel 5 protrudes from the shield 7 with only one segment 10, even when the maintenance cover 8 is closed. Only the part of the polishing wheel 5 protruding from the shield 7 is used for machining a Skid 3 required. Only the protruding segment 10 of the polishing wheel 5 is accessible during operation. The user only has full access to the polishing wheel 5 when the maintenance cover 8 is open. According to a particularly safe embodiment of the device 1, the drive cannot be activated when the maintenance cover 8 is open and / or when the polishing wheel 5 is rotating, ie driven, the maintenance cover 8 cannot be opened (interlock function).
- the illustrated side view of the device 1 comprises the control device 11 for controlling the electric drive an on-off switch 12, possibly control or regulating instruments for controlling / regulating the speed of the polishing wheel 5, as well as an emergency stop switch 13, which at least the drive, but in particular the entire device 1, de-energizes.
- a height-adjustable table 14 can be seen on which the housing 4 is arranged.

- the housing of the device 1 according to FIGS Figures 1A / B can be formed as a case with one or more handles, whereby the device 1 can be transported safely and comfortably. It can thus be carried to the place of use of the ice skate, ie to an ice rink, a sports arena or a competition venue, and operated there. Ice hockey players' ice skates can be ground / polished on site during a break in the game or when the game is interrupted, which provides the players and thus the entire team with considerable advantages during the game.
- the processing of the skate runners 3 is mechanically and surface-technically reproducible, since the runners 3 are always processed with the same device 1, and thus with a defined speed of the (grinding /) polishing disc (5), and with almost identical processing steps. After processing his runners 3, the player will always perceive almost identical runners properties and can optimally adapt his game and his running behavior on the ice to the constant properties of the runners 3.
- FIG Figure 1C A variant of a device 1 for processing a runner 3 is shown in FIG Figure 1C .
- the device 1 comprises a guide means 23 for the guided movement of the skate or the runner 2 during the surface treatment.
- the axis of rotation 6 of the rotating polishing wheel 5 is stationary and the runner 3 or the shoe is moved laterally, ie in the longitudinal direction of the runner 3.
- the guide means 23 can be designed in such a way that almost the same contact pressure of the runner 3 is always applied to the pane 5, or that the contact pressure can be varied while the surface 2 is being processed.
- the guide means 23 can be designed in such a way that the runner 3 and pane 5 are always in the same alignment, so that the processing zone 17 of the pane 5 always rests optimally on the surface 2 of the runner 3. It can be useful if the guide means 23 allows only very small angular deviations when machining the surface 2.
- the guide means 23 can comprise a guide rail which enables the runner 3 or the shoe to be moved in a controlled manner.
- a lighting means 24 of the device 1 can be provided which illuminates the surroundings of the (grinding /) polishing wheel (5) so that the processing operation can be easily monitored by the user. This considerably improves the reproducibility of the machining result.
- the lighting means 24 can be arranged pivotably or movably on the housing 4 of the device 1.
- a switch which is assigned to the control device 11, for example, can be provided for switching the electrical lighting means 24 on and off.

- the runner can be clamped in the holding device.
- the guide plane 25 can be formed from a flat granite material and its inclination can be adjusted in several angles or axes of inclination.
- the holding device can also be adjustable in several directions / angles with regard to the skid inclination. In this way, the alignment of the runner 3 and the runner displacement covered during the runner movement relative to the rotating polishing wheel 5 are successful.
- the runner 3 is guided once along the polishing wheel 5, for example from right to left or from left to right. It has been shown that a back and forth movement of the runner 3 does not lead to a better finish.
- a sectional view of a polishing pad 5 can Figure 2A can be removed.
- the externally arranged processing zone 17 of the disc 5 has a contour 18 which matches the surface profile (micrograph) 19 of the runner 3, which in the sectional view according to FIG Figure 2B is shown.
- the contour 18 of the edge of the disk 5 results from an outwardly directed taper 20 of the width of the processing zone 17 of the disk 5 and from a circumferential rounding 21 in the area of the center of the disk 5 Hollow profile formed.
- a side view of the polishing wheel 5 resting against the runner 3 can be Figure 2C can be removed. While the runner surface 2 is being machined, the disk 5 rotates at at least 3,000 rpm, and the runner 3 is guided along the polishing wheel 5 in the horizontal direction, preferably in opposite directions, ie so that the machining zone 17 and runner 3 have opposite directions of movement during machining.
- a polishing paste 22 can be used between the runner 3 and the disk 5.
- the processing method for processing the skate blade 3 provides in a first step that a polishing disk 5 with a flat cylinder geometry is processed or shaped in the area of the peripheral edges of the processing zone 17. As a result, the processing zone 17 becomes narrower towards the outside and the effective processing area becomes smaller.
- the disk 5 can be formed from a felt material.
- the felt fabric can be waxed or waxy Material coated and / or impregnated.
- a rounding 21 can be arranged on the circumferential side, so that the machining zone 17 in FIG Figure 2A Has illustrated contour 18.
- Another method step consists in polishing the surface 2 of the runner 3 with the contoured processing zone 17, if necessary using a paste 22.

The invention relates to a transportable (portable and / or rollable) device for processing a surface, in particular the running surface, a runner, in particular a skate runner, according to the preamble of claim 1, according to the preamble of
It is well known that sharpening ice skate blades as a maintenance measure improves the quality of an ice skate with regard to its running and / or sliding properties. The problem is the effort that a user of an ice skate has to take care of the shoe. He or she has to leave the sports facility and go to a sporting goods company to have the shoes cared for there. In addition, skate care is often not reproducible in this way. This is particularly problematic if the user is often on the move, as is regularly the case with (competitive) athletes in particular. It must also be taken into account that any differences in the surface or grinding pattern lead to different running properties of the runners / shoes, which is perceived as unpleasant by the user. This is where the invention comes in.
The invention is based on the object of specifying measures with which the maintenance of ice skates, in particular ice skate blades, is simplified, improved, in particular with regard to the sliding property of the blade, and thereby becomes more reproducible. This object is achieved by a transportable device for processing a surface of a runner, in particular a skate runner, according to claim 1. The surface to be processed essentially relates to the running surface of the runner, ie that narrow side of the runner which faces the ice surface on which it is intended to slide. The surface processing agent accordingly has a processing zone in the area of the circumference which has a cross-sectional area with a slope and / or a taper and / or a chamfer and / or a rounding. In this respect, the device is able to polish the (already ground) runner, in particular to polish it to a high gloss, as a result of which the surface (running surface) of the runner receives an, in particular high-gloss, machining finish. A high-gloss polished running surface of the runner has a reflective sheen and a correspondingly smooth (running) surface. The runner with finish machining has better running and sliding properties and, thanks to the features of the device described herein, these improved surface properties of the runner compared to the prior art can also be reproduced at any time at the place of use of the runner.
The surface processing agent can preferably comprise a textile fiber material such as felt, in particular wax and / or a diamond additive, for example diamond dust, or be formed from textile fiber material such as felt, in particular wax containing. Excellent sliding properties are achieved when the processing zone of the surface treatment agent is slightly narrower than the blade width (sliding on the ice surface), so that the edges of the blade (sliding on the ice surface) remain unprocessed when the surface of the blade is processed.
It can be provided that the rotating surface treatment agent is arranged under a shield and / or in a cage, so that only a segment of the surface treatment agent is accessible during machining. Thus, the rotating surface processing agent can be safely operated at high speed and high torque.
The processing zone of the surface processing agent is that area with which the runner is processed, i. H. the outer area of the polishing or grinding wheel. An even smooth polish is also possible, the surface of the runner being at least partially flat. A surface image with a curvature is also achieved, either concave (for example in the case of a hollow cut) or convex (for example in the case of a curved cut). It is also possible to achieve a profile with an outwardly tapering runner, in which the contact surface is less than the thickness (width) of the runner.
According to a preferred embodiment, the shield and / or the cage can be at least partially opened for maintenance purposes, in particular for adjusting or replacing the surface treatment agent, in particular by means of a hinged and / or rotatable and / or displaceable maintenance cover.
Measures with which the maintenance of ice skates, in particular of the running surfaces of ice skate runners, is simplified, improved and reproducible, also succeed with a device according to
Measures with which the care of ice skates, in particular of running surfaces of ice skate blades, is simplified, improved and reproducible, also succeed with a device according to
Measures with which the maintenance of ice skates, in particular of the running surfaces of ice skate blades, is simplified, improved and reproducible succeed also with a device according to
Measures with which the maintenance of ice skates, in particular of the running surfaces of ice skate runners, is simplified, improved and reproducible, also succeed with a device according to
To provide a definable or constant speed of the rotating surface treatment agent, it can be provided that the control device comprises a control and / or regulating device for controlling / regulating the speed of the surface treatment agent. The control means / regulating means can also keep the speed constant during machining. If necessary, a desired speed can be set. The control means can furthermore comprise an emergency stop switch, with which the device, in particular the drive, is switched off. With the emergency stop function, the device also fulfills the necessary safety requirements.
The drive preferably comprises an alternating current motor, for example an alternating current motor for an alternating voltage of 230 V, in particular with a power of at least 250 watts. Preferably, the surface treatment agent rotates at a speed of at least 3,000 revolutions / minute (U / M). A speed range between around 3,200 rpm and 4,400 rpm has proven to be particularly useful with regard to optimal finishing of the runner. The uniformity of the action of the drive can be given in particular by controlling / regulating the peripheral speed. This makes it possible to compensate for geometric changes in the polishing wheel, for example a reduced diameter in the event of material stress caused by the polishing.
At least one coolant can be provided, in particular at least one fan, which is arranged on the housing and / or in the housing so that the heat generated during the surface treatment can be dissipated. The heat that is given off by the drive and / or by the controller and / or by the surface treatment means can thus be dissipated, that is to say given off into the surroundings of the housing. A build-up of heat in the housing is thus avoided. By means of a thermal sensor, at least one Components of the drive of the device are de-energized so that the relevant safety requirements are met.
It is useful if the housing can be set up in a height-adjustable manner, in particular by means of a height-adjustable table. The height-adjustable table can be part of the housing or can be connected to the housing. It can also be provided that the housing itself is height-adjustable, for example by means of height-adjustable feet or a height-adjustable frame.
A preferred variant of the device described herein allows Acku operation. For this purpose, the device comprises at least one or more rechargeable electric batteries. This is particularly advantageous when the device is to be operated at a location where no electrical power connection is available. This is regularly the case in ice rinks or ice rink facilities, especially in the adjacent lounge areas or waiting areas.
Measures with which the maintenance of ice skates, in particular the running surfaces of ice skate blades, is simplified, improved and reproducible, are also possible with a method according to
A series of tests and a subsequent measurement of the surface properties have shown that it is sufficient for an almost perfect finish if a (pretreated or ground) runner is guided once along the rotating polishing wheel. The run along the rotating surface processing means is accordingly carried out in such a way that the single run for the purpose of (high-gloss) polishing begins at the first runner end or at the first runner tip and ends at the second runner end or at the second runner tip. It is not necessary to move the runner resting against the polishing wheel back and forth.
According to a preferred variant of the method, the runner can be guided along such that the preferred direction of movement of the runner (corresponding to a forward sliding movement) and the direction of rotation of the circumferential area run in opposite directions or in the same direction. The runner can accordingly be guided along the polishing wheel against the direction of rotation or with the direction of rotation. According to a preferred variant of the method, an opposite direction of movement is provided, with the runner being guided along the polishing wheel against the direction of rotation with regard to the desired high-gloss polishing result. So it can work in opposite directions or processed simultaneously, depending on the desired profile picture or grinding result.
In the method, a profile image or surface finish can be created in the runner, which, based on the cross-section of the runner, has at least one slope, preferably two opposing slopes, which forms a hollow profile or a hollow shape, and / or which has a contour, preferably one or more curvatures which form a hollow profile (hollow shape), and / or a recess which forms a hollow profile (hollow shape).
It can be useful if a polishing agent is used, for example a polishing paste. The paste can contain microparticles and / or nanoparticles, which participate in the polishing process.
According to a preferred variant of the method, provision is made for the runner to be shiny, in particular high-gloss, at least in some areas after the surface has been processed. The gloss of the runner goes hand in hand with a particularly advantageous sliding and running properties of the corresponding ice skate. In addition, the shiny area of the runner is visually perceived by the user, so that he can immediately distinguish a surface-processed runner from an unprocessed one.
In the method it can be provided that the (arithmetic) mean roughness value R a of the machined runner surface is at least in some areas less than approx. 0.1 µm, in particular less than approx. 0.035 µm, preferably less than 0.025 µm. The mean roughness value R a corresponds to an average value of the deviation of the rough surface profile from a reference variable. In at least one experimental check of the surface quality of a skate blade, the surface of which was polished with the device described herein, a value R a test of 0.03 μm was determined. A runner with a surface of this quality and the resulting improved running properties is unprecedented in the prior art.
The method can furthermore be designed in such a way that the (averaged) roughness depth R z of the machined runner surface is less than approximately 0.5 μm, in particular less than approximately 0.25 μm. The mean roughness depth R z is an average of several individual roughness depths, with several successive individual measurements being provided depending on the measuring method. In at least one experimental check of the surface quality of a skate blade, the surface of which was polished with the device described herein, an R z test value of 0.2 μm was determined.
Measures with which the maintenance of running surfaces of ice skates is simplified, improved and reproducible are also possible with a skate blade according to
