Abstract

A fastening system (16) of a load on a device (10) is described, for transporting a load on motor vehicles, comprising: a support of the load (18) sliding connectable to a frame (12) of the device (10); blocking elements (21) to block the support of the load (18) on the frame (12); fastening means (23) to fasten the load on the support of the load (18) and simultaneously actuate the blocking elements (21) to block the support of the load (18) on the frame (12); the connecting element (22) is composed of a pin (22) and the fastening means (23) of the load comprise a strap (23) blocked by a ratchet (26), the strap (23) and the ratchet (26) being connected to the pin (22).

Description

LOAD FASTENING SYSTEM WITH AUTOMATIC BLOCKING OF THE TRANSLATION FOR A DEVICE FOR TRANSPORTING A LOAD ON MOTOR VEHICLES
The present invention refers to a fastening system of a load with automatic blocking of the translation which can be used with a device for transporting the load on motor vehicles, for example for transporting bicycles or skis, and to a device for transporting a load on motor vehicles equipped with such fastening system.
In particular, the invention refers to a fastening system of a load on a device for transporting a load of the type comprising a frame, for example having a straight or curved profile, adapted to be assembled on the roof of a motor vehicle or projecting on rear part of the motor vehicle, fastened to a towing hook.
Fastening systems are known for a load on devices for transporting a load on motor vehicles, equipped with load supports, for example containing cradles of a bicycle wheel, which are assembled sliding on a frame, and cannot be fastened thereto, once having reached the desired position, or are fastened through a knob or a screw.
These fastening systems however are not satisfactory and have the problem of not allowing to block the load supports, for example of a bicycle, in the desired position on the frame, or of requiring uncomfortable operations which require the use of tools for fastening the supports onto the load-transporting device.
Document DE-U-74 22 030 discloses a fastening system according to the preamble of Claim 1.
Object of the present invention is solving the above prior art problems, by providing a fastening system of a load for a device for transporting the load on motor vehicles, equipped with a fastening system of the load with automatic blocking of the translation, which allows blocking the load supports in a desired position with simple operations, without requiring the use of tools; in particular, allowing to block the translation of the load supports on the frame with a single operation, simultaneously with blocking the load on the supports.
The above and other objects and advantages of the invention, as will appear from the following description, are obtained with a fastening system of a load with automatic blocking of the translation, for a device for transporting the load on motor vehicles, as claimed in Claim 1. Preferred embodiments and non-trivial variations of the present invention are the subject matter of the dependent claims .
It is intended that all enclosed claims are an integral part of the present description.
It will be immediately obvious that numerous variations and modifications (for example related to shape, sizes, arrangements and part with equivalent functionality) can be made to what is described, without departing from the scope of the invention as appears from the enclosed claims.
The present invention will be better described by some preferred embodiments thereof, provided as a non-limiting example, with reference to the enclosed drawings, in which:
Figure 1 shows a side view of a fastening system of a load with automatic blocking of the translation according to the present invention;
Figure 2 shows a perspective and transparent view of a fastening system of a load with automatic blocking of the translation according to the present invention; and
Figure 3 shows a side sectional view of a fastening system of a load with automatic blocking of the translation according to the present invention.
With reference to the Figures, the fastening system 16 of a load with automatic blocking of the translation of the invention is adapted to be assembled sliding on a device 10 for transporting a load on motor vehicles, in particular a device 10 of the type which can be connected to the roof of a motor vehicle or to a towing hook; in particular, the fastening system 16 of a load is adapted to be assembled sliding on a frame 12 of the device 10 for transporting a load on motor vehicles; preferably, the fastening system 16 is assembled sliding on guiding means 27.
The fastening system 16 comprises :
at least one support of the load 18, sliding connectable, preferably by means of the guiding means 27, to the frame 12 to adapt it to loads having different lengths and widths;
blocking elements 21 adapted to block the support of the load 18 on the frame 12;
fastening means 23 of the load connected to the support of the load 18 and to the blocking elements 21, and adapted to fasten the load on the support of the load 18 and simultaneously actuate the blocking elements 21 to block the support of the load 18 on the frame 12, automatically blocking its translation.
The fastening means 23 of the load are connected to the blocking elements 21 by means of a connecting element 22 which further allows actuating the blocking elements 21.
The connecting element 22 is, in an inventive way, composed of a pin 22 and the fastening means 23 of the load comprise a strap or belt 23 blocked by a ratchet 26, said strap 23 and said ratchet 26 being connected to the pin 22; for example, the pin 22 is inserted inside seats, for example holes, obtained in the strap 23 and in the ratchet 26.
Preferably, the pin 22 is engaged in a slit 28 obtained in the support of the load 18 so that its longitudinal translation with respect to the movement direction of the support of the load 18 is blocked by blocking means of a known type, while its oscillation along the direction perpendicular to the above movement is free.
In a preferred way, the blocking elements 21 are housed in the support of the load 18 and are composed of a screw 24, preferably a eyelet-type screw, connected to a small plate 25 in turn sliding connected to the guiding means 27; for example, the screw 24 is screwed on a small threaded plate 25, sliding inserted in a gully 27 obtained in the frame 12.
The pin 22 is connected to the screw 24, preferably inserted in the eyelet of the eyelet - type screw 24.
Preferably, the guiding means 27 are composed of the gully made on the frame 12, preferably composed of a metallic profile, for example straight or curved, inside which a plurality of small plates 25 are adapted to slide, the small plates 25 making "T" -shaped joints sliding inside the gully 27.
For example, in an embodiment of the device 10 adapted to transporter bicycles, the supports of the load 18 comprise wheel supports comprising a cradle 19 adapted to contain the wheel of a bicycle, and the position of the wheel supports is adjustable to adapt the distance of the wheel supports depending on the sizes, preferably the width or the length of the loaded bicycles; the fastening system 16 further comprises straps 23 to automatically block the translation of the cradle 19 when they are fastened for fastening the wheel .
In the operation of the fastening system 16 of a load with automatic blocking of the translation according to the present invention, the position of the supports of the load 18 is adjusted by making them slide on the guiding means 27 of the frame 12, in order to adapt them to the load size, for example a bicycle having wheelbases between the wheels with different length, or in order to adjust the distance between at least two loads, for example two bicycles, to assemble them side by side at the desired distance, when the fastening system 16 is assembled on a device 10 for transporting a load of the type connectable projecting to a hook of a motor vehicle.
The operation of an embodiment of the fastening system 16 of a load with automatic blocking of the translation according to the present invention will now be described, used with a device 10 for transporting bicycles on motor vehicles, comprising a cradle 19 adapted to contain the wheel of a bicycle and blocking elements 21 composed of an eyelet-type screw 24 screwed in a small plate 25, in turn sliding connected to the guiding means 27.
The strap or belt 23 is connected to the cradle 19 and to the ratchet 26 through the transverse pin 22 which crosses the cradle 19 next to two vertical slits 28 obtained on two sides of the cradle 19, and is therefore free of oscillating inside the slits obtained in the cradle 19.
Inside the cradle 19 the eyelet-type screw 24 is inserted, keyed on the transverse pin 22.
The lowed end of the eyelet-type screw 24 is screwed in the small threaded plate 25, engaged in the gully 27 made in the profile of the frame 12. The small plate 25 can longitudinally translate along the gully 27, dragged by the eyelet-type screw 24, but cannot rotate, nor be disengaged from the gully 27.
When the bicycle wheel is housed in the cradle
19, the user can freely translate the cradle 19 in order to position it in the best position for his bicycle, adapting to the wheelbase between the wheels, because every bicycle has a different wheelbase. When the user closes the strap 23 by tensioning it on the ratchet 26, blocking the wheel of the bicycle in the cradle 19, the small plate 25 is strongly pushed upwards by the eyelet-type screw 24, dragged in turn by the pin 22, pressing against the gully 27 and generating a high friction which blocks the translation of the small plate 25 and therefore of the cradle 19.
Advantageously, the fastening system 16 of a load with automatic blocking of the translation of the invention allows regulating the position of the supports of the load 18 by making them slide on the frame 12, and blocking their translation simultaneously with blocking the load thereon, with a single operation.

Claims

1. Fastening system (16) of a load on a device (10) for transporting a load on motor vehicles, comprising :
at least one support of the load (18) sliding connectable to a frame (12) of the device (10) for transporting a load on motor vehicles;
blocking elements (21) adapted to block the support of the load (18) on the frame (12) ;
- fastening means (23) of the load connected to said support of the load (18) and to the blocking elements (21) , and adapted to fasten the load on the support of the load (18) and simultaneously actuate the blocking elements (21) to block the support of the load (18) on the frame (12) , automatically blocking its translation, said fastening means (23) of the load being connected to the blocking elements (21) by means of a connecting element (22) which further allows actuating the blocking elements (21) ,
characterized in that the connecting element (22) is composed of a pin (22) and the fastening means (23) of the load comprise a strap (23) blocked by a ratchet (26), said strap (23) and said ratchet (26) being connected to the pin (22) .

Fastening system (16) of a load on a device (10) for transporting a load on motor vehicles according to claim 1, characterized in that the pin (22) is inserted inside seats obtained in the strap (23) and in the ratchet (26) , and is adapted to oscillate along a transverse direction to its axis, inside at least one slit (28) obtained in the support of the load (18) .

Fastening system (16) of a load on a device (10) for transporting a load on motor vehicles according to claim 1 or 2 , characterized in that the blocking elements (21) are housed in the support of the load (18) and are composed of a screw (24) connected to the pin (22) and to a small plate (25) in turn sliding connected to guiding means (27) on which the fastening system (16) is sliding assembled.

Fastening system (16) of a load on a device (10) for transporting a load on motor vehicles according to claim 3, characterized in that the screw (24) is an eyelet-type screw screwed to a small threaded plate (25) which is inserted sliding on the guiding means (27) composed of a gully (27) obtained in the frame (12) .
5. Fastening system (16) of a load on a device (10) for transporting a load on motor vehicles according to claim 4, characterized in that the pin (22) is inserted in the eyelet of the eyelet-type screw (24) .

Fastening system (16) of a load on a device (10) for transporting a load on motor vehicles according to any one of claims 3 to 5, characterized in that the guiding means (27) are composed of a gully made on the frame (12) , inside which a plurality of small plates (25) are adapted to slide, the small plates (25) making "T" -shaped joints sliding inside the gully (27) .
7. Fastening system (16) of a load on a device (10) for transporting a load on motor vehicles according to any one of the previous claims, characterized in that the supports of the load (18) comprise wheel supports comprising a cradle (19) adapted to contain the wheel of a bicycle.
8. Device (10) for transporting a load on motor vehicles, comprising a frame (12) composed of a straight or curved profile, characterized in that it comprises a fastening system (16) of a load according to any one of the previous claims.
