Abstract

A mattress frame (1) with a central part (3) rotatably arranged in one plane, a pivoting articulated back part (4) and a leg part with a foldable thigh part (5) and lower leg part (6), is characterized by the fact that for bending the lower leg part (6) an electric motor drive (13, 14) arranged below the mattress frame (1) is provided opposite the thigh part (5).

Description

  • The invention relates to a mattress frame with the features of the preamble of claim 1.
  • Such a mattress frame is from the publication DE 10 2009 034 016 B4 known. The mattress frame rests on a support frame and can be brought out of the care bed for a caregiver by turning it 90 ° perpendicular to the lying surface into a standing position. For turning within a bed border of the care bed, the mattress, which is preferably in one piece on the mattress frame, can be provided with a separate part at the foot end and the thigh part and the lower leg part of the leg part must be lifted out of the lying surface. For this purpose, the thigh part and the lower leg part are connected to one another via preferably two articulated locking joints.
  • The mechanics of the articulated locking joints are designed so that e.g. motorized lifting of the thigh part relative to the fixed support frame, the lower leg part is automatically aligned in a position parallel to the lying surface.
  • In addition, the mechanics of the articulated locking joints are designed so that when the thigh part is lowered after rotation to the standing position, the lower leg part is automatically aligned in a position perpendicular to the side surface of the nursing bed.
  • The design and manufacture of the articulated locking joints are very complex. In addition, the load capacity of the raised lower leg part on the articulated locking joint is restricted. The vertical alignment of the lower leg part in the standing position is unstable compared to a curved mattress. As a result, the mattress will always protrude slightly from the bed frame, so that a caregiver is spaced from the seat when inserted into the care bed.
  • The invention was therefore based on the object of reducing the mechanical complexity of the articulation of the lower leg part to the upper leg part and, moreover, of producing an increased stability of the positions of the lower leg part.
  • This object is achieved in a mattress topper of the type mentioned by the characterizing features of claim 1. Advantageous embodiments of the invention result from the features of the subclaims.

  • The thigh part 5 can be raised via a device 8 relative to the fixed support frame 2.
  • A raised position of the thigh part 5 is in Fig. 1b schematically shown, wherein the mechanics of the articulated locking joint 7 brings the lower leg part 6 into an orientation essentially parallel to the support frame 2. The resilience of the lower leg part 6, for example by a pressure symbolically represented as arrow 9, is low.
  • In the Fig. 1c The arrangement shown is intended to clarify the position of the lower leg part 6 reached in front of the side surface 10 as the bed edge of a nursing bed after the middle part 3 has been rotated, after the lower leg part 6 has been lowered. A mattress, not shown, generates a tensile stress on the lower leg part 6 due to its angling on the articulated locking joint 7 and its attachment to the lower leg part 6, which is represented by a further symbolic arrow 11.
  • To insert them into the nursing bed, a caregiver is guided backwards to the nursing bed until their lower legs touch the mattress. Since the caregiver is in this position from the Bed edge 10 is distant, the insertion is difficult and requires increased support.
  • The representations in the 2a to 2c correspond to those of 1a to 1c . Instead of the articulated locking joint 7, a simple rotary joint 12 is now provided. According to the invention, the movement of the lower leg part 6 is generated and controlled by an electric motor 13 with a drive rod 14 as a function of the raising / lowering of the upper leg part 5. The drive rod 14 is moved at an acute angle with respect to the lower leg part 6.
  • In order to produce this arrangement, the housing of the electric motor 13 is articulated to a tab 15 which is fastened vertically downward to a cross strut of the thigh part 5 directed towards the foot end. An axis of rotation fastened to the tab 15 is therefore at a distance from the underside of the thigh part 5, while the axis of rotation is arranged at the head of the drive rod 14 as close as possible to a cross strut arranged at the foot end of the lower leg part 6.
  • From the Figures 2b and 2c it can be seen that both the housing of the electric motor 13 and the head end of the drive rod 14 are to be rotatably supported, the axes of rotation being parallel to the transverse direction of the thigh part 5 and the lower leg part 6.

The housing of the electric motor 13 is rotatably articulated on a tab 15 which is fastened vertically to a cross strut at the end of the thigh part 5. The drive rod 14 is on the lower leg part 6 attached. The arrangement of the motor 13 and the drive rod 14 are arranged almost centrally to the transverse direction of the mattress frame 1, so that a single drive device is sufficient. The coupling between motor 13 and drive rod 14 is so strong that the pressure and tensile loads described above are effectively overcome.

Claims (4)

  1. Mattress frame (1) with a central part (3) rotatably arranged in one plane, a pivoting articulated back part (4) and a leg part with a foldable thigh part (5) and lower leg part (6), characterized in that the lower leg part (6) bends relative to the thigh part (5) an electric motor drive (13, 14) arranged below the mattress frame (1) is provided.
