Abstract
Description
- The object of the present invention is to present a new integral system of combined girthing for saddles, which being formed by three elements, allows for free movement in all directions.
- This new integral system of combined girthing for saddles is especially applicable in the field of riding, wherever a girthing system that has said characteristics is required.
- There are already several different types of girths for riding on the market that seek to improve the comfort for the horse in many ways, yet all of them, without exception, have a single piece as a base for pressure distribution.
- There are girths with crosswise cuts to improve the adaptation thereof to the body of the horse, and there are also those that are completely elastic.
- In the current state of the art there is no type of integral system of combined girthing for saddles with the technical characteristics described in the present invention.
- This new integral system of combined girthing for saddles is made up of a girth joined to a saddle support by means of a tension distributor.
- The girth is made up of four pieces, two central pectoral pieces and two lateral intercostal pieces.
- The girth is joined to the saddle by means of a series of tertiary pulleys.
- The tension distributor is provided with a series of primary pulleys joined to the girth and to the saddle support.
- The primary pulleys are mobile and joined to said tension distributor by means of elastic elements.
- The saddle support is made up of two lateral pieces joined by means of a joining element.
- The lateral pieces include a series of secondary pulleys through which the extension for joining the saddle and stirrup strap circulates.
- The lateral pieces include a series of extensions joined to the tension distributor by means of a series of primary pulleys.
- This new integral system of combined girthing for saddles offers the following advantages:
- The pieces that make it up are entirely anatomical, since each of them acts on specific muscles of the horse's body, respecting the shape and functions thereof.
- It enables all movements to be cushioned by controlling the pressure, adapting to the change in volume and shape of the muscles.
- By means of pulleys, pressures are reduced and the friction of the movement is absorbed, protecting and releasing the front end and the back of the horse.
- The rider can "self-sustain" the saddle during the "second" in which a jump is performed by counteracting the horse's impulse when jumping, given that the system allows the stirrups, saddle and saddle support to be sustained together.
- This advantage is achieved through the saddle support with pulleys that join the stirrup strap and the saddle, which always move backwards as an effect of a jump.
- Moreover, the rider keeps their legs in a perfect position while riding and, when jumping, at a balance point below their knee, since without this system the leg would slide backwards, creating a difficulty for the rider by affecting their balance that until now was inevitable, and therefore it is clear that this integral innovation incorporates safety for the rider in difficult manoeuvres and at the same time provides greater comfort and protection for the horse.
- The four-piece girth adapts to the shape of the horse's body, which is modified by the act of jumping.
- At the same time the system for joining the girth and the saddle allows the saddle, by means of the pulleys, to be kept in a proper position on the back of the horse at all times, even if the back changes position or shape.
- The four pieces that make up the girth function by each one of them resting on different muscles of the horse's thorax (the central pieces that are larger rest on the pectoral muscles and the side pieces that are much smaller rest on the intercostal muscles), allowing free movement in all directions directly connected to the biomechanics of the horse. The anatomical shape and the space existing temporarily between the lateral pieces facilitate the circulation of the blood stream, which circulates through the epigastric cranial veins that run through that area and provide the entire ventral area of the horse with oxygenated blood.
- The larger pieces have a completely anatomical design that seeks to optimize the movements of the front end of the horse. The shapes thereof are completely adapted so as not to interfere with the free muscular and articular movement of the horse, mainly in extreme movements that are carried out in a high jump, in tight turns and in landing a jump, in which the horse's muscles independently change shape and size, in order to fulfil the specific function thereof, on each side of the body.
- Due to the fact that it is divided, it helps to quickly eliminate sweat and allows for greater air circulation in that area, avoiding excessive overheating and problems of skin irritation linked to accumulated excessive "sweat" combined with body temperature.
- Another advantage of this division of pieces that make up the girth is that they prevent rubbing generated on the chest, which is common when a normal girth is used, meaning a girth that is made up of one single piece, when taking each step (left-right)
- As a complement to the description provided herein, and for the purpose of helping to make the characteristics of the invention more readily understandable, the present specification is accompanied by a series of figures constituting an integral part of the same, which, by way of illustration and not limitation, represent the following:
-
Figure 1 shows an exploded view of the integral system of combined girthing for saddles. -
Figure 2 shows a view of the integral system of combined girthing for saddles installed on a horse. - As can be seen in the attached figures, the integral system of combined girthing for saddles is made up of a girth (1) joined to a saddle support (2) by means of a tension distributor (3).
- The girth (1) is made up of four pieces, two central pectoral pieces (4) and two lateral intercostal pieces (5).
- The girth (1) is joined to the saddle (6) by means of a series of tertiary pulleys (14).
- The tension distributor (3) is provided with a series of primary pulleys (7) joined to the girth (1) and to the saddle support (2).
- The primary pulleys (7) are mobile and joined to said tension distributor (3) by means of elastic elements.
- The saddle support (2) is made up of two lateral pieces (8) joined by means of a joining element (9).
- The lateral pieces (8) include a series of secondary pulleys (10) through which the extension (11) for joining the saddle (6) and stirrup strap (12) circulates.
- The lateral pieces (8) include a series of extensions (13) joined to the tension distributor (3) by means of a series of primary pulleys (7).
- Having sufficiently described the nature of the present invention, in addition to an example of implementation, it must be added that the shape, arrangement and materials of said invention may be modified, provided that it does not imply substantially altering the characteristics claimed below.
