    Technical area
  • The present invention relates to the field of watchmaking. It relates, more particularly, a wristwatch clasp with one or folding clasps and a system of ease. Indeed, particularly for clasps intended to be used with metal link bracelets, but not exclusively, it is not possible to easily adjust the length of the bracelet when the watch is worn. However, it is known that the wrist size of the wearer of the watch can vary during the day, depending on the activity or the temperature. In addition, depending on the activity, the user may appreciate to tighten his bracelet or loosen it slightly. If it is enough to change the hole of the strap used for a clasp, the operation is not simple with a metal bracelet, nor with a clasp with folding clasp mounted on a flexible bracelet.
  • So-called adjustment systems, generally integrated into the clasps with folding clasp, allow a fine adjustment of the total length of the bracelet (that is to say of the bracelet and the clasp in the locked position), for take into account the different situations or variations in the wrist size of the user.
  • Thus, the invention relates to a clasp of the type comprising:
    • a chassis having a base and at least a first pair of stretchers extending parallel to each other from the base in the same plane, and
    • a cover connected to the frame by means of a first strand articulated with the frame by a first of its ends and arranged to take place between the shafts when the clasp is in the locked position, the first strand being further articulated by a second end with lid.
  • The cover further comprises locking means arranged to cooperate with a fastening structure integral with the chassis, controlled by pushers to move between a hooking position in which the hooking structure is adapted to cooperate with the locking means to lock the clasp, and a free position in which the attachment structure leaves free the locking means.
  • The clasp further comprises a slideway, a first end of which is slidably mounted in the lid along the longitudinal axis of the clasp, and a second end of which is intended to be connected to a bracelet, said slide comprising a first pair of pads, between which the first strand is likely to take place when the clasp is in the locked position. In this position, the pads are arranged opposite the stretchers.
  • State of the art
  • Document is known EP1908366 , a clasp comprising a sliding slide in the edges of a lid, whose main surface is articulated relative to the rim of the lid. A rack is formed in the lower face of the main surface, so as to cooperate with the slide to lock its longitudinal position. Such a system is particularly complex to implement, with the articulation of the cover and the realization of the rack.
  • Other clasps with folding clasp are known, incorporating a system of ease. For example, the one proposed in the document CH698981 , discloses an adjustment system comprising a slider slidably mounted in the lid of the clasp. This slide comprises a notch adapted to cooperate with a stop structure pivotally mounted on a support member integral with the lid. Actuation of a pusher releases the adjustment system without opening the bracelet.
  • Thus, such a clasp has the disadvantage that inadvertent actuation of the pusher does not disturb the position of the clasp, with discomfort caused to the user, and at worst, the risk of losing the watch.
  • The present invention therefore aims to provide a clasp free from the aforementioned drawbacks, that is to say offering improved safety by compared to untimely adjustment, keeping a compact and simple system.
  • Disclosure of the invention
  • More specifically, the invention relates to a watchband clasp, comprising:
    • a chassis having a base and at least a first pair of stretchers extending parallel to each other from the base in the same plane, and
    • a cover connected to the frame by means of a first strand articulated with the frame by a first of its ends and arranged to take place between the shafts when the clasp is in the locked position, said first strand being further articulated by a second end with the cover, said cover further comprising locking means arranged to cooperate with a fastening structure secured to the frame, controlled by pushers to move between a hooking position in which the hooking structure is adapted to cooperate with the locking means for locking the clasp, and a free position, in which the attachment structure leaves the locking means free,
    • a slide, whose first end is slidably mounted in the cover along the longitudinal axis of the clasp, and a second end of which is intended to be connected to a bracelet, said slide comprising a first pair of pads, between which the first strand is likely to take place when the clasp is in the locked position, said pads being then arranged opposite the stretchers, characterized in that it comprises a structure for adjusting the first slide position with reference to the cover along the longitudinal axis, said structure adjustment being formed by a notch arranged on said pads, and by a stop member, secured to the shafts, the notch and the stop member being arranged to cooperate with one another and block the translation of the first slide when the clasp is in the locked position.
  • Thus, a change of adjustment of the position of the first slide requires to open the clasp completely. It is less likely that such an opening is made inadvertently, with respect to an involuntary actuation of an actuating member, specific to the adjustment of the attachment, as in the state of the art. . In addition, the notch and the stop member are rigidly positioned on constituent elements of the clasp, which does not require the provision of mobile systems for the adjustment structure.
  • The dependent claims relate to other features of the invention.
  • An independent claim relates to a method of adjusting a clasp according to the invention, comprising the steps of:
    • unlock the clasp and open at least the first lid,
    • pivoting the first slide with reference to the first lid to disengage the notch of the stop structure,
    • move the first slide in translation with reference to the first cover,
    • close the first cover on the frame and lock the clasp.

    Embodiment of the invention
  • We have shown on the figure 1 , a bracelet clasp according to a preferred embodiment of the invention. This clasp is of the folding clasp type and generally comprises a frame 10, on which is mounted a cover 12, hinged to the frame 10 by means of at least one hinged strand and forming what is called the folding clasp. In the illustrated embodiment, there are two covers 12, which can also be considered as a two-part cover, each being connected to the frame 10 by its own folding clasp.
  • As will be detailed below, each cover 12 further comprises locking means 14 arranged to cooperate with a hooking structure 16 integral with the frame 10. This hooking structure 16 is controlled by pushers 18 to move between a attachment position in which the attachment structure 16 is adapted to cooperate with the locking means 14 to lock the clasp, and a free position, in which the attachment structure 16 leaves free the locking means 14.
  • More precisely, and as we see best on the exploded view of the figure 3 , the frame 10 is provided with a base 100 and two pairs of stretchers 102. For each of these pairs, the shafts 102 extend parallel to each other from the base 100 in the same plane. The pairs of stretchers 102 are symmetrical with respect to each other, with reference to a transverse axis passing through the middle of the frame 10 and perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the clasp. This longitudinal axis is defined as the axis that connects the ends of the clasp intended to be connected to the bracelet.
  • The first part of the cover 12 is connected to the frame 10 by means of a first strand articulated with the frame 10 by a first of its ends and arranged to take place between the shafts 102 when the clasp is in the locked position. The first strand 20 is further articulated by a second end with the first part of the cover 12.
  • A first slide 30 is slidably mounted along the longitudinal axis of the clasp, by a first end in the first part of the lid 12. By its second end, the first slide 30 is intended to be connected to one end of a bracelet, for example bracelet type links.
  • The first slide 30 comprises a first pair of pads 32 interconnected and between which the first strand 20 is likely to take place when the clasp is in the locked position. Note that when the clasp is in the locked position, with the first strand 20 positioned between the shafts 102 and between the pads 32, the latter are arranged opposite the shafts 102. In other words, the pads 32 and the stretchers 102 define together and between them, a housing in which takes place the first strand 20 when the clasp is in the locked position.
  • Like the first portion of the cover 12, the second portion of the cover 12 is connected to the frame 10 by means of a second strand 220 hinged to the frame 10 by a first end and arranged to take place between the stretchers 102 of the second pair of stretchers 102 when the clasp is in the locked position. The second strand 220 is further articulated by a second end with the second part of the cover 12.
  • A second slide is also slidably mounted along the longitudinal axis of the clasp, in the second portion of the cover 12. By its second end, the second slide 230 is intended to be mounted at the other end of the bracelet.
  • The second slide 230 comprises a second pair of pads 232, between which the second strand 220 is likely to take place when the clasp is in the locked position, said pads of the second pair of pads being then arranged opposite the shafts 102 of the second pair of stretchers 102.
  • For their sliding, the first slideway 30, respectively the second slideway 230, are provided with a pair of projecting studs 34, 234, extending laterally, facing each other, that is to say, say on the same axis. These pads form sliders arranged to slide in grooves formed inside their respective cover portion 12.
  • Advantageously, the studs 34, 234 are of oblong shapes and allow not only a translational movement along the longitudinal axis, but also a limited rotation along an axis passing through the studs. By adjusting the dimensions of the oblong, one can define the maximum angle of rotation of the first slide 30 and the second slide 230, with reference to their respective cover 12.
  • The slides 30, 230 may be engaged in their respective lid portion 12, simply by arranging them transversely with respect to the lid 12, that is to say by arranging the axis passing through the studs 34, 234 to bring it closer to an orientation parallel to the longitudinal axis of the clasp. It is thus possible to engage the studs in the grooves and ensure their engagement by then placing perpendicularly the axis of the studs 34, 234 and the longitudinal axis of the clasp. Just provide a simple stop at the ends of the grooves, without them being removable. This provides a particularly simple mounting clasp. Once connected to the bracelet, the tension that it exerts on the slides is enough to maintain them in the longitudinal axis. It may be noted that in their proximal position, defining the length of the shortest clasp, the slides are preferably entirely housed in the covers, with the exception of the parts useful for connection with the bracelet.
  • We can particularly see the locking means 14 on the figure 3 . This is notch 140, formed in a plate 142 integral with each pusher 18. The pushers 18 are held in height by a cap 46 and laterally by stops, against which springs not shown, press them. The notches 140 are arranged to engage with a pin 160 secured to the cover 12 and forming the hook structure 16. In the example, each portion of the cover 12 comprises a pin 160, the two pins 160 being juxtaposed when the clasp is locked. They comprise at their end a groove 162 with which the notches 140 can cooperate more particularly. The pins 160 pass through the cover 46 in an opening 48 that it comprises for positioning the grooves 162 at the notches 140.
  • Thus, in the locked position, the notches 140 are engaged in the grooves 162 under the constraint of the springs. The clasp is thus locked in this position. Pressing the push-buttons 18 causes them to translate and releases the attachment structure 16, which makes it possible to move the parts of the cover 12 relative to the frame 10, by unfolding the loop.
  • According to an important aspect of the invention, the clasp further comprises a structure for adjusting the position of the first slideway 30 with reference to the cover 12 along the longitudinal axis, making it possible to obtain a clutching system. . The adjustment structure is formed by a notch 50 arranged on the pads 32, associated with a stop member 60, integral with the shafts 102. Preferably, each stretcher and each pad comprises such a control structure, in order to have a distribution of forces and constraints that is symmetrical. It would also be possible to have only one slide adjustment structure.
  • More particularly, the notching 50 has a succession of teeth, preferably triangular, having a substantially right angle with the surface of the pads. The stop member 60 also has at least one tooth, if necessary, several, with which the notch 50 can cooperate. The tooth is advantageously also triangular, having a substantially straight angle with the surface of the shafts 102.
  • The surfaces of the notching 50 perpendicular to the pad and the surfaces of the stop member 60 perpendicular to the stretcher associated therewith, are arranged to bear against each other and thus to define a longitudinal position of the first slide 30. If there are several stop members, they have between them an interval for accommodating there at least one tooth of the notching 50, in any case, a whole number of teeth. The system is functional with a stop member 60 having a single surface cooperating with the notch 50. Alternatively, the stop member could be recessed instead of protruding.
  • When the notch 50 is thus engaged in cooperation with the stop member 60, the position of the first slide 30 along the longitudinal axis is blocked and the translation is no longer possible. This commitment is ensured when the clasp is in the locked position, held by the locking means 14.
  • Thanks to the mobility of the first slide 30 with reference to the first portion of the lid 12 rotated along the axis passing through the lugs, the first slide 30 can be manipulated when the clasp is open, so as to pull the notch 50 of the stop member 60. When this clearance has been made, the first slide 30 can be displaced in translation with reference to the cover 12, in order to modify the notch tooth 50 cooperating with the stop member 60.
  • Similarly, the clasp further comprises a structure for adjusting the position of the second slide 230 with reference to the second portion of the cover 12 along the longitudinal axis. The adjustment structure is formed by a second notch 250 arranged on the pads 232 of the second pair of pads, associated with a second stop member 260 secured to the shafts 102 of the second pair of shafts. Preferably, each stretcher and each pad comprises such an adjustment structure, in order to have a distribution of forces and stresses which is symmetrical.
  • The preceding paragraphs about the position adjustment structure of the first slideway 30 apply identically to the adjustment structure of the second slideway 230.
  • Advantageously, the clasp further comprises a first elastic tongue 70 interposed between the first portion of the cover 12 and the first slide 30, and a second elastic tongue 270 interposed between the second cover portion 12 and the second slide 230.
  • In the proposed embodiment, the tabs 70, 270 form a U, a first branch 72, 272, shorter, allows the attachment of the tongue on the portion of the cover 12. The second branch 72, 274 of the U exerts a elastic pressure against the first slide 30, respectively the second slide 230, tending to press them towards their respective pairs of shafts 102.
  • Each elastic tongue is arranged so as to maintain the engagement 50 engaged against the stop member 60, until the maximum rotational setting of the first / second slide 230, with respect to its axis of rotation passing through the pads. The elastic tongues 70, 270 thus make it possible to maintain the engagement of the catch 50, 250 in the stop member 60, 260, when the adjustment of the length has been carried out and the clasp is being folded, but it has not been locked yet. The tongues also make it possible to maintain the engagement when the bracelet, worn, exerts stresses on the first 30 / second slide 230, which could risk disengaging the notch 50, 250 of the stop member 60, 260.
  • Thus, from a starting position, a user wanting to modify the useful length of his clasp will open the latter by actuating the locking means 14, by means of the pushers 18. Once the clasp is open ( Fig. 4a ), it can rotate the slides 30, 230 about their axis defined by the pads 34, 234, to clear the notches 50, 250 of the stop structures 60, 260 and thus be able to move the one and / or the 30. 230. When the adjustment is made ( Fig. 4b ), the resilient tongues 70, 270 already press the notch 50, 250 of the slides 30, 230 against their stop member 60, 260 respectively. Locking the clasp then makes it possible to secure the setting ( Fig. 4c ).
  • Particularly advantageously, when the clasp is open, the elastic tabs 70, 270 allow to maintain the adjustment position, apart from a manual action exerted against the elastic tongues. This avoids having to adjust the clasp at each opening.
  • It will be noted, as can be seen in particular on the figure 3 that a folding blade type extension system 80, known as Flip-Lock, can be interposed between the slides and the bracelet. The blades of the extender can take place between the pads of their respective slide, or expand to provide a bracelet of additional length, for example to arrange the watch over a wetsuit.
  • Although the above description has been given with reference to a clasp comprising a lid in two parts, each being associated with a slide having a system for adjusting its position, the man of the profession can easily adapt this description to provide a clasp having a slide, without departing from the scope of the invention defined by the claims.

Claims (10)

  1. Clasp of watch bracelet, comprising:
    a frame (10) having a base (100) and at least one first pair of stretchers (102) extending parallel to each other from the base (100) in a single plan, and

Clasp according to claim 6 and according to claim 2, characterized in that it comprises a second elastic tongue (270) interposed between the second cover (12) and the second slide (230), said second elastic tongue being arranged in such a way as to exert on the second slide (230), a force tending to press against the second pair of stretchers (102), and maintain the second notch (250) engaged against the second stop member (260).

Clasp according to one of claims 2 to 7, characterized in that the first (30) and second slides (230) each comprise a pair of studs (34, 234) arranged laterally and projecting along an axis perpendicular to the axis longitudinal, said pair of pads cooperating with grooves in respectively the first and second cover (12) along the longitudinal axis, to allow the sliding of the first (30) and the second slide (230).
