Instead of using 3.5% NaCl solution in the tests, artificial seawater according to ASTM D1141 was used as the media. Furthermore, the flushed port cell used in ASTM G61 was replaced by sealing the specimen with epoxy to avoid crevice corrosion on the edge of the sample.
