Description

Gooseneck with Ramp
Technical Area
The invention is about the strong ramp that facilitates loading on gooseneck in low bed trailers, and the gooseneck with housing in which the ramp can be positioned.
Known Situation of the Technique
Some of the trailers which are used in road transports are manufactured as low-bed to carry the vehicles like heavy equipment. The part connected to a tow-truck in such trailers ascends a little by their structure and is called gooseneck. Due to this elevation difference, loading to this part is one of the problems to be solved. A solution to this problem is offered in utility model with the number of TR2010/00195 and the title of "Front loading gooseneck forward leaning semi trailer". In the said development, the gooseneck is leveled down with a hydraulic system before being loaded to tow truck, and then it is connected to tow truck after loading. This increases labor and time costs requiring additional operations. Production costs are also another disadvantage.
Another application used in current systems is the use of ramp between low bed chassis and gooseneck. Used ramp can wear down in time especially due to heavy tonnage equipment and becomes unserviceable. Besides, as it should be kept outside, it can either get lost or be stolen.
Consequently, the need for a strong ramp that facilitates loading on gooseneck in low bed trailers and a gooseneck with housing in which the ramp can be positioned, and the inadequacy of current solutions necessitated a development in the relevant technical area. The Purpose of the Invention
The present invention is about the gooseneck that fulfills the requirements mentioned above, that eliminates all disadvantages and brings additional advantages. Main purpose of the gooseneck as the subject of the invention is to position the ramp in the housing on the gooseneck. Thus, the missing of the ramp is prevented by eliminating the requirement of outside storage of the ramp. Another purpose of the invention is to prevent the unauthorized access to the ramp thanks to the cover and the lock positioned on the housing inlet. In this way, the theft risk is minimized. Another purpose of the invention is to enable inside and outside movement of the ramp on its route through slide and bearings which are positioned inside the housing. This provides a safer operation by eliminating negativities like mispositioning.
Another purpose of the invention is to strengthen depending on the profiles positioned on the sides of ramp sheet and subsurface. Thus, the minimum influence from maintenance, modification and replacement costs is aimed by increasing service life. Moreover, the risks which can occur during the loading of tonnage products are minimized.
In order to reach the purposes mentioned above in the most general sense, the strong ramp that facilitates loading on the gooseneck in low bed trailers and the gooseneck with housing in which the ramp can be positioned have been developed. The developed gooseneck involves a ramp that facilitates the transition of the load from low bed chassis to the gooseneck, and a ramp housing in which the ramp is positioned. The strength of the ramp is provided by side profiles on the sides and sub-profiles on the subsurface.
Structural and characteristic features and all advantages of the invention will be understood more clearly through the images provided below and by references made to these images; and therefore, it is required to make evaluations by considering these images and detailed explanations.

Detailed Explanation of the Invention
In this detailed explanation, the gooseneck (10), which is the subject of the invention, is explained only with the examples which do not have any limiting impact for understanding the matter better. The most important development in relatively higher gooseneck (10), which is connected to tow truck in trailers with low bed chassis (40), is basically the presence of the ramp housing (20) in which the ramp (30) that facilitates the transition of the load from low bed chassis (40) to the gooseneck (10) is positioned. In Figures 1 a, 1 b and 1 c, there are perspective view of the ramp (30) of gooseneck (10) in ramp housing (20), demounted perspective and side view of the ramp (30) in ramp housing (20), respectively, as the subject of the invention. Ramp housing (20) removes the ramp's (30) risk to get lost by eliminating its requirement of external storage. Ramp (30) is used by taking out from housing inlet (21 ) in ramp housing (20) when needed, and is positioned again in ramp housing (20) from housing inlet (21 ) after used.
In Figures 2a, 2b and 2c, there are top perspective, perspective from below and side sectional views of ramp (30), respectively. In general, ramp (30) consists of sheet (31 ), which creates basic structure; side profile (32) on the sides of sheet (31 ) and sub-profile (33) on the subsurface of sheet (31 ). Side profile (32) and sub-profiles (33) increase durability and therefore service life by increasing strength. Assembly hook (34) which is positioned behind sheet (31 ) prevents ramp (30) from falling from ramp housing (20) by being mounted on housing inlet (21 ). Slanted sheet (35) which is positioned in front of sheet (31 ) enables smooth exit of the load by eliminating planar difference between low bed chassis (40) and ramp (30). Backup sheet (36) is positioned in slanted sheet (35) and increases its strength.
In Figures 3a and 3b, close and isomeric views of ramp housing (20), respectively, with positioned ramp (30) can be seen. There is a cover (50) as protection on housing inlet (21 ) which enables entry and exit of ramp (30) to/from ramp housing (20). Also, there is a lock (60) on housing inlet (21 ) again which enables locking. Cover (50) and lock (60) prevent thefts by allowing the ramp access to only authorized people.
In Figure 3c, there is a section of ramp housing (20) with positioned ramp (30). As it can be seen in the image, side profile (32) consists of U shaped profile with an opening facing out. Right across, there is the slide (22) on inner side surfaces of ramp housing (20) which enables forward and backward movement of the ramp (30). The slides (22) are also U shaped profiles with openings facing out. Shafts (23) and bearings (24) which turn around shafts (23) are positioned inside U profiled slides (22) where side profiles (32) slide on bearings (24). Bearings (24) are made of rubber material in order to prevent vibration and noise. Moreover, they enable inside and outside movement of ramp (30) in its route due to their position on U shaped side profiles (32). Therefore, a safer media is created by eliminating negativities like mispositioning.
