Abstract
Description
- The present invention relates to a washing machine comprising a dispenser wherein the cleaning agents can be placed.
- In washing machines, cleaning agents like detergent, softener etc needed for the cleaning process are placed into a dispenser. The dispenser is disposed into a housing that can be accessed from the front surface of the washing machine. The washing water received from the mains is guided into the dispenser by means of a flushing device disposed on the upper side of the dispenser. The cleaning agent mixed with water is transferred from the dispenser towards the washing tub.
- While water is transferred from the said flushing device into the dispenser, the detergent and softener remaining inside the dispenser adhere to the lower surface of the flushing device by splattering and form a layer by solidifying in the course of time. These residues cause formation of mould, fungus and bacteria in the course of time due to the humid environment. This situation is unfavorable in terms of hygiene.
- In the state of the art, there are embodiments relating to washing and cleaning the dispenser and the flushing device by being removed from the housing wherein they are placed.
- In the state of the art European Patent Application No. EP927784, a washing machine is explained, that comprises a dispenser and a flushing device that can be taken out of the washing machine for cleaning.
- The aim of the present invention is the realization of a washing machine comprising a flushing device that can be mounted/dismounted easily and safely.
- The washing machine realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof, comprises a body; a board disposed on the body; a housing fastened to the board so as to extend into the body; a dispenser that is disposed into the housing and wherein the cleaning agents like detergent, softener etc. are placed; a flushing device that is mounted detachably to the housing so as to cover the upper surface of the dispenser and that enables the water received from the mains to pass into the dispenser, and an opening that is arranged on the housing and that enables the dispenser and the flushing device to be placed into the housing. The dispenser and the flushing device are placed by sliding into the said housing and taken out of the housing by pulling forward.
- The washing machine of the present invention comprises a lock disposed behind the board and positioned around the opening that prevents the flushing device from being taken out of the housing by contacting the flushing device. When the flushing device is pulled forwards or moves forwards due to vibrations during operation, the lock exerts pressure on the flushing device in the opposite direction of movement and provides thereof to remain inside the housing. Thus, the waterproofing of the water conduit connection that remains at the rear surface of the flushing device is not disrupted.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the lock moves in the vertical direction to the movement direction of the flushing device and does not move in the other directions. Consequently, as a result of the flushing device exerting pressure on the lock in the forward movement direction, the lock is prevented from moving together with the flushing device and the flushing device is prevented from dislodging from the housing.
- In another embodiment of the present invention, the lock has a closed position wherein the lock rests against the flushing device and prevents the flushing device from dislodging from the housing, an open position whereto the lock is changed by being moved from the closed position and wherein the lock enables the flushing device to be taken out of the housing and a free position whereto the lock is changed from the open position by being moved and wherein the dispenser is prevented from being placed into the housing. When the flushing device is desired to be taken out of the housing for cleaning, the lock is changed from the closed position to the open position. After the flushing device is taken out, the lock changes to the free position. In the free position, the lock at least partially extends towards the opening that allows the dispenser to be placed into the housing and prevents the dispenser from being placed therein. In order to place the dispenser, first of all the flushing device has to be placed and the lock to be changed to the closed position.
- In another embodiment of the present invention, the washing machine comprises at least one protrusion that is disposed on the board and at least one channel that is disposed on the lock, wherein the protrusion is placed. While the lock is fastened to the board, the protrusion is placed into the channel. Thus, the lock can be positioned correctly while being placed on the board and ease of assembly is provided. When the protrusion is placed into the channel, a gap remains above and below the protrusion. The lock can move by sliding upwards-downwards within this gap. The lock reaches its lowermost position in the open position and the uppermost position in the free position. The closed position of the lock is at a position between the open position and the free position.
- In another embodiment of the present invention, a screw hole is arranged on the protrusion. By means of the screw placed into the screw hole, a durable connection is formed between the lock and the board. Thus, the lock is prevented from dislodging from the board due to the vibrations created during the operation of the washing machine. The head of the screw covers the upper surface of the channel such that the protrusion is prevented from dislodging from the channel.
- In another embodiment of the present invention, the washing machine comprises a biasing means that forces the lock to remain in the closed position while the flushing device is in the housing. By means of the biasing means which is preferably a spring, the lock is prevented from changing to the open position without the intervention of the user. The biasing means is disposed above or below the lock in the movement direction of the lock so as to guide the vertical movement of the lock.
- In another embodiment of the present invention, the washing machine comprises an extension arranged on the lock, a resting protrusion disposed on the board and a hole arranged on the resting protrusion, wherein the extension is placed. When the extension is placed into the hole, the movement of the lock in the vertical direction is guided and the movement of the lock in the other directions is prevented. Furthermore, when the extension is placed into the hole, the channel and the projection portion are aligned and thus the lock is enabled to be mounted to the board easily. By placing the biasing means on the extension, the extension is enabled to support the biasing means during its movement and thus usage life of the biasing means is increased. The board, the lock and the biasing means are grouped together and mounted to the body as a single piece.
- In another embodiment of the present invention, the washing machine comprises at least one claw disposed on the flushing device and at least one recess disposed on the claw, wherein the lock is placed. When the lock is in the closed position, the end portion of the lock is inside the recess. When the flushing device is desired to be taken out of the housing by pulling forward, the lock rests against the walls of the recess and forms a barrier in front of the flushing device. Thus, the flushing device is prevented from dislodging from the housing in the closed position. By means of the pressure the biasing means exerts on the lock while the lock is in the closed position, a firm connection is established between the flushing device and the housing and between the water conduit and the flushing device without any gaps therebetween and hence probable water leakages are prevented.
- In another embodiment of the present invention, the claw has an inclined surface. While the flushing device is placed into the housing by sliding, the lock in the free position is partially at the same level as the claw. When the flushing device is continued to be slid after the lock contacts the inclined surface of the claw, the pushing force exerted on the flushing device by means of the inclined surface of the lock is transferred as a downward force on the lock and the lock is forced to move downwards. The pushing force transferred to move the lock should be of a magnitude that exceeds the pressure exerted by the biasing means. When the sliding operation is continued afterwards, the lock aligns with the recess just behind the inclined surface and the biasing means exerts force on the lock such that the lock is placed in the recess. When the lock is seated in the recess by the pressure the biasing means exerts, the impact sound as the surfaces of the lock and the recess contact, assures the user that the flushing device is placed firmly.
- In another embodiment of the present invention, the washing machine comprises a pressing surface that is disposed on the lock and that enables the lock to be changed to the open position. The pressure the user exerts on the pressing surface is in the opposite direction of the pressure the biasing means exerts on the lock. When the user desires to take out the flushing device from the housing, he/she changes the lock to the open position by pressing on the pressing surface and ends the pressing operation after the flushing device is taken out of the housing. When the dispenser is inside the housing, the pressing surface stays behind the dispenser cover. Thus, the children are prevented from accessing the lock. After the dispenser is taken out, the pressing surface remains at a portion of the lock surface where the user can easily access. Thus, the user can easily change the lock to the open position and remove the flushing device from the housing.
- In another embodiment of the present invention, the lock is U-shaped. Thus, when the lock is positioned around the opening, the user only sees a small portion of the lock where the pressing surface is located, and the front of the opening is not covered. The connections of the lock with the board remain behind the board at a location where the user cannot see. The pressing surface is positioned at the base of the lock to be located at the lower portion of the opening. In the closed position, both arms of the lock rest against the flushing device and thus the lock exerts balanced pressure to the flushing device, preventing small vibrations of the flushing device.
- In another embodiment of the present invention, in the closed position, the end portions of both arms of the lock are placed into the recess. Thus, the lock enables the flushing device to be firmly placed into the housing by exerting balanced pressure, preventing small vibrations of the flushing device.
- In another embodiment of the present invention, a channel is arranged on each of the arms of the lock. The lock is housed on the board from both arms, thus a stronger connection is maintained between the lock and the board.
- In another embodiment of the present invention, the pressing surface is positioned so as to be at equal distance to both arms of the lock. Thus, the pressure exerted by the user is enabled to be distributed equally to both arms of the lock.
- In yet another embodiment of the present invention, the biasing means moves in the same direction as the pressing surface. When the user exerts pressure on the pressing surface, the pressing surface moves in the direction of the exerted pressure and the biasing means is compressed in the same direction. When the user ends the pressure, the biasing means is elongated in the opposite direction of the pressure exerted by the user and the pressing surface also moves in the same direction.
- In another embodiment of the present invention, the washing machine comprises a sensor that detects the position of the lock. The position data detected by the sensor is transmitted to the user by the control unit by using audio or light warning means. Thus, the position data of the lock is transmitted to the user without requiring the user to bend and look inside the housing, thereby user satisfaction is increased.
- In another embodiment of the present invention, supports are provided on the side walls of the housing, that bear against the base of the flushing device and hence supporting the flushing device at least partially and retainers are provided on the side walls of the housing, that grasp the flushing device from above. Thus, a slider configuration is formed wherein the flushing device moves and the flushing device is enabled to be held in balanced manner inside the housing.
- In another embodiment of the present invention, the washing machine comprises a handle disposed on the flushing device. Thus, a holding portion is formed for the user to pull forwards while taking out the flushing device from the housing. The handle is wide enough for the user to place his/her fingers. Furthermore, a structure is formed on the handle where the fingertips of the user are placed. Consequently, the user is enabled to grasp the flushing device better and consumer satisfaction is increased.
- In another embodiment of the present invention, the body and the board are integrated. Thus, ease of production and assembly is provided. In this embodiment, the production of the body is realized by configuring the shape of the board. The assemblies performed on the board are done directly on the body.
- By means of the present invention, the flushing device that contacts water in the washing machine and that mostly remains wet after the washing, is enabled to be removed and washed, and thereby more hygienic usage conditions are maintained. Furthermore, after the cleaning operation, the flushing device is enabled to be placed into the housing safely and by maintaining effective leak-proofing.

- The washing machine (1) comprises a body (2); a board (3) disposed on the body (2); a housing (4) fastened to the board (3) so as to extend into the body (2); a dispenser (5) that is placed into the housing (4) and wherein cleaning agents like detergent, softener etc. are placed; a flushing device (6) that is placed detachably to the housing (4) so as to cover the upper surface of the dispenser (5) and that enables the water received from the mains to pass into the dispenser (5) and an opening (7) that is arranged on the housing (4) and that enables the dispenser (5) and the flushing device (6) to be placed into the housing (4) (Figure 1).
- The washing machine (1) furthermore comprises a lock (8) that is disposed behind the board (3) so as to be positioned around the opening (7) and that prevents the flushing device (6) from dislodging from the housing (4) by resting against the flushing device (6).
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the lock (8) moves in a direction perpendicular to the movement direction of the flushing device (6). The lock (8) performs sliding movement in the fastened position.
- In another embodiment of the present invention, the lock (8) has a closed position wherein the lock (8) rests against the flushing device (6) and prevents the flushing device (6) from dislodging from the housing (4), an open position whereto the lock (8) is changed by being moved from the closed position and wherein the lock (8) enables the flushing device (6) to be taken out of the housing (4) and a free position whereto the lock (8) is changed from the open position by being moved and wherein the dispenser (5) is prevented from being placed into the housing (4). Thus, while the lock (8) is in the closed position, the movement of the flushing device (6) is prevented and the flushing device (6) cannot be taken out of the housing (4). While in the open position, the lock (8) does not extend to the front of the flushing device (6) and the flushing device (6) can be taken out of the housing (4) where the former is located. While in the free position, the lock (8) prevents the dispenser (5) from being placed into the housing (4) by extending towards the opening (7). The lock (8) is in the free position while the flushing device (6) is outside the housing (4) and changes to the closed position from the free position when the flushing device (6) is placed into the housing (4). In the closed position, the lock (8) enables the dispenser (5) to be placed into the housing (4). Thus, the user cannot place the dispenser (5) into the housing (4) without first placing the flushing device (6) into the housing (4). Thus, the user is enabled to understand that the flushing device (6) is not placed properly into the housing (4) and the washing machine (1) is prevented from being operated without placing the flushing device (6) (Figure 4, 5 and 6).
- In another embodiment of the present invention, the washing machine (1) comprises at least one protrusion (9) that is disposed on the board (3) and at least one channel (10) that is disposed on the lock (8) and wherein the protrusion (9) is placed. While the lock (8) is fixed to the board (3), the protrusion (9) is placed into the channel (10). In this embodiment, the channel (10) and the protrusion (9) have the same width. Thus, when the protrusion (9) is placed into the channel (10), the movement of the lock (8) in the horizontal axis is prevented. The movement of the lock (8) in the vertical axis is enabled and the movement of the lock (8) in the vertical axis is limited by the length of the channel (10). When the lock (8) is changed to the open position, the lower surface of the protrusion (9) contacts with the lower end of the channel (10), thus the downwards movement of the lock (8) is ended. When the lock (8) is changed to the free position, the upper surface of the protrusion (9) contacts with the upper end of the channel (10), thus the upwards movement of the lock (8) is ended. When the lock (8) is changed to the closed position, the protrusion (9) is positioned between the lower end and upper end of the channel (10) (Figure 4, 5 and 6).
- In another embodiment of the present invention, the protrusion (9) comprises a screw hole (11). The lock (8) is fixed to the board (3) by means of the screw inserted into the screw hole (11). The head width of the screw inserted into the screw hole (11) is greater than the width of the channel (10). Thus, the protrusion (9) placed into the channel (10) is prevented from dislodging from the channel (10).
- In another embodiment of the present invention, the washing machine (1) comprises a biasing means (17) that forces the lock (8) to remain in the closed position while the flushing device (6) is in the housing (4). The biasing means (17) becomes active from the moment the lock (8) starts moving towards the open position and exerts pressure on the lock (8) in the opposite direction of movement and tries to change the lock (8) back to the closed position. By means of the pressure exerted by the biasing means (17), the lock (8) is prevented from changing from the closed position to the open position except for the intention of the user. When the flushing device (6) is outside the housing (4), the biasing means (17) forces the lock (8) to remain in the free position. Thus, the dispenser (5) is prevented from being mounted into the housing (4) before the flushing device (6) is placed therein.
- In another embodiment of the present invention, the washing machine (1) comprises at least one extension (13) disposed on the lock (8), a resting protrusion (12) disposed on the board (3) and at least one hole (14) that is arranged on the resting protrusion (12) and wherein the extension (13) is placed. In this embodiment, the biasing means (17) is placed on the extension (13) so as to remain between the lock (8) and the resting protrusion (12). While the lock (8) changes from the closed position to the open position, the extension (13) moves inside the hole (14), the distance between the lock (8) and the resting protrusion (12) decreases and the biasing means (17) is compressed. The compressed biasing means (17) transfers the stored energy to the lock (8) and enables the lock (8) to change from the open position to the free position (Figure 4, 5 and 6).
- In another embodiment of the present invention, the flushing device (6) comprises at least one claw (15) and at least one recess (16) arranged on the claw (15), wherein the lock (8) is placed. While the lock (8) is in the closed position, the end portion of the lock (8) is inside the recess (16) and the lock (8) forms a barrier in front of the claw (15) in the movement direction of the flushing device (6). Thus, the flushing device (6) is prevented from dislodging from the housing (4) (Figure 3 and 5).
- In another embodiment of the present invention, the claw (15) has an inclined surface. Thus, while the flushing device (6) is placed into the housing (4), the lock (8), that is in the free position, is forced to move in the downwards direction starting from the first contact of the lock (8) with the inclined surface of the claw (15) such that a barrier is not formed in front of the flushing device (6). The lock (8), after passing over the inclined surface on the claw (15), comes to the position opposite the recess (16) where the lock (8) engages with the recess (16). In this position, the lock (8) moves in the upwards direction due to the pressure exerted by the biasing means (17), and when the surfaces of the lock (8) and the recess (16) contact, the lock (8) changes to the closed position and the movement of the lock (8) ends.
- In another embodiment of the present invention, the washing machine (1) comprises a pressing surface (18) that is arranged on the lock (8) and that enables the lock (8) to change to the open position. When the user exerts pressure on the pressing surface (18), the lock (8) gets out of the recess (16) by moving downwards, changes from the closed position to the open position and does not form a barrier in front of the claw (15). Thus, the flushing device (6) can be taken out of the housing (4) by being pulled forwards. After the flushing device (6) is taken out, the user ends the pressure exerted on the pressing surface (18) and the lock (8) changes from the open position to the free position by the pressure exerted by means of the biasing means (17).
- In another embodiment of the present invention, the washing machine (1) comprises a U-shaped lock (8), the end portions of the arms of which rest against the flushing device (6). When the lock (8) is positioned around the opening (7), two ends of the lock (8) rest against the flushing device (6) in the closed position. Thus, without closing the opening (7), pressure is exerted on two ends of the flushing device (6) by a single lock (8). When the lock (8) is moved, the two ends of the lock (8) move in the same direction and cover the same distance.
- In another embodiment of the present invention, the washing machine (1) comprises a lock (8), the end portions of both arms of which are placed into the recess (16) in the closed position. Thus, when the user tries to take out the flushing device (6) while the lock (8) is in the closed position, a better barrier is formed in front of the flushing device (6).
- In another embodiment of the present invention, the washing machine (1) comprises a lock (8), wherein a channel (10) is disposed on each of its two arms. The channels (10) disposed on the arms of the lock (8) are fitted over the protrusions (9) located behind the board (3) and the lock (8) bears on the board (3) from both arms. Thus, during the movement of the lock (8), both arms are enabled to move in a direction perpendicular to the movement direction of the flushing device (6).
- In another embodiment of the present invention, the washing machine (1) comprises a pressing surface (18) that is positioned between two arms of the lock (8). Thus, the pressure exerted by the user is enabled to be distributed equally to both arms of the lock (8). Thus, the pressure the user has to exert on the pressing surface (18) to move the lock (8) is decreased.
- In yet another embodiment of the present invention, the biasing means (17) moves in the same direction as the pressing surface (18). The biasing means (17) that is placed into the extension (13) arranged on the base of the lock (8) is compressed between the lock (8) and the resting protrusion (12) due to the movement of the extension (13) in the hole (14) with the pressure exerted by the user on the pressing surface (18), and exerts pressure on the base of the lock (8) such that the exerted pressure is compensated. When the pressure exerted by the user is ended, the lock (8) changes to the free position as a result of the pressure exerted by the biasing means (17).
- In another embodiment of the present invention, the washing machine (1) comprises a sensor (19) that detects if the lock (8) is in the closed position or the free position and a control unit (20) that enables the data received from the sensor (19) to be delivered to the user by means of audio or light warning. Thus, the user can learn the position of the lock (8) from the control unit (20) without requiring to control the inside of the housing (4) (Figure 1).
- In another embodiment of the present invention, the washing machine (1) comprises at least two opposite supports (21) that are disposed on the side walls of the housing (4) and that guide the movement of the flushing device (6) inside the housing (4) by supporting the flushing device (6) from below and at least one retainer (22) that is disposed on the side walls of the housing (4) and that guides the movement of the flushing device (6) inside the housing (4) by grasping the flushing device (6) from above. Thus, the forwards/backwards movement of the flushing device (6) inside the housing (4) is performed controllably, the flushing device (6) is prevented from bending forward due to its weight while being pulled forwards and the flushing device (6) is enabled to move easily inside the housing (4) (Figure 3).
- In another embodiment of the present invention, the washing machine (1) comprises a handle (23) disposed on the flushing device (6). After the lock (8) is changed to the open position, the user can take the flushing device (6) out of the housing (4) by holding from the handle (23). Consequently, the user is enabled to grasp the flushing device (6) better and consumer satisfaction is increased (Figure 2).
- In another embodiment of the present invention, the body (2) and the board (3) are integrated. In this embodiment, the body (2) is so configured as to ensure that the use of a board (3) is not required.
- In the washing machine (1) of the present invention, bacteria formation at the dispenser (5) region is minimized by providing the removal and cleaning of the flushing device (6), thereby providing more hygienic usage conditions. Furthermore, by the lock (8) that is positioned around the opening (7), the flushing device (6) is enabled to be placed into the housing (4) more properly and thus an effective leak-proofing can be maintained.
