Definitions
- the invention relates to a chisel with a chisel head and a chisel shank, the chisel shank in the region of its end facing away from the bit head having a threaded portion with a thread, the chisel head carrying a chisel tip of a hard material, and wherein the chisel head in the region of the drill shank facing side equipped with a support surface.
- Such cutting bits are commonly used on cutting rollers of tillage machines, especially road construction machines, mining machines or the like.
- the cutting rollers of road milling machines, mining machines or the like are usually equipped with chisel holder changing systems.
- base parts of the bit holder changing systems can be connected to the surface of a cutting roller tube, in particular welded or screwed.
- the basic parts are there positioned relative to each other so that arise on the surface of the cutting roller Lade Listeln.
- Chisel holders are connected to the base parts, wherein the chisel holders can be screwed to the base part, welded or otherwise held thereto, for example, clamped.
- the bit holder can also be connected directly to the surface of a cutting roller tube.
- the chisel holders have a chisel holder.
- the chisels described above can be interchangeably mounted.
- the chisels strike with their chisel tips on the substrate to be removed and cut into it.
- the soil material is broken up.
- the material removed in this way can be transported, for example, via the broaching and loading helices to the center of the cutting roller and conveyed out there by means of ejectors from the working area of the cutting roller. It can then be transported away with suitable facilities, such as conveyor belts.
- the chisels are equipped with chisel tips, which are made of hard material and cause the cutting action. They are therefore exposed to an abrasive attack and must therefore consist of a suitable hard material to achieve the longest possible service life.
- Chisels are known in the prior art in which the chisel tip is made of hard metal. In order to be able to generate uniform wear on such chisels on the circumference, the chisels are usually arranged rotatably in chisel mounts of the chisel holders.
- chisels which are equipped in the area of their chisel tip with a 'superhard material'.
- the bit tips have a coating of polycrystalline diamond or other material that has a comparable diamond hardness.
- Such a chisel is known from US 2012/0080930 A1.
- Such chisel tips have an exceptionally long service life and show little wear during use. It is therefore not essential to fix these chisels rotatably in the chisel holders.
- the US 20 2/0080930 A1 therefore proposes the chisel of the chisel with a To equip the thread and to clamp the chisel by means of a nut firmly on the chisel holder. If, after a certain working time, the chisel becomes worn, the nut can be loosened, the chisel turned a bit and then the nut tightened again.
- the bit is supported by a support portion of the chisel head on a correspondingly formed opposite surface of the chisel holder.
- the support portion is formed truncoconical and tapers from the chisel head in the direction of the drill collar.
- This object is achieved in that the support surface of the chisel head is curved.
- the curvature of the support surface allows compared to a truncated cone-shaped construction in the same space an enlarged surface. This leads to lower surface pressures and thus to a load-optimized construction. Furthermore, a kind of "ball joint" can be formed in cooperation with a counter surface of the chisel holder curved in correspondence with the support surface Cutting process occur and derive these forces evenly and safely in the bit holder. As a result, voltage spikes, which occur especially in shock loads, minimized.
- the term "arched” should be understood as meaning such support surface geometries in which the support surface is convexly convex or correspondingly concave, in particular spherical, ellipsoidal, etc. Spherical or ellipsoidal geometries can be manufactured easily and allow, in particular, the abovementioned ball joint-shaped Layout.
- the bit head has a tool holder.
- the chisel can be gripped from the front of the chisel with a screwdriver and screwed to the chisel holder.
- the chisel is easily accessible in the area of the chisel head and has a larger diameter compared to the chisel shank.
- the tool holder can also be formed with a large effective cross-section to better initiate the required torques for bracing the bit can.
- the tool holder is formed as an external polygon, in particular external hex, so that a screw with conventional fastening tools is possible. It is also conceivable that around the chisel head one or more serving as tool holders recesses, such. B. holes are incorporated. These can essentially be aligned axially, ie, parallel to the central longitudinal axis of the bit according to the invention, or else essentially radially, ie, orthogonally aligned with the central longitudinal axis. In this tools can then be inserted and a rotation of the chisel be effected. An advantage of a through hole in the radial direction is the fact that the tool holder is maintained even if the bit head is very worn.
- a preferred variant of the invention is such that adjoins the tool holder directly or indirectly a concave discharge surface of the chisel head, which is arranged in the region between the chisel tip and the tool holder.
- the discharge surface derives the ground material removed substantially from the bit tip from the tool holder and thus prevents or at least reduces wear in the area of the tool holder.
- the discharge surface forms a kind of deflector.
- the maximum cross section in particular the diameter of the bit head, is greater than the cross sectional area of the bit holder adjoining the bit head in order to protect it from wear.
- a receptacle in which the chisel tip is inserted to form the area of the chisel head forming the discharge area.
- the chisel tip preferably has a working part which is formed from a superhard material.
- a material may be formed of a material having a similar hardness as diamond.
- Particularly conceivable is the use of polycrystalline diamond, natural diamond, synthetic diamond, vapor-deposited diamond, silicon-bonded diamond, cobalt-bonded diamond, thermally stable diamond, cubic boron nitride, a diamond-infiltrated material, a diamond-studded matrix, a diamond-impregnated carbide or the like material. This is not an exhaustive list and those skilled in the art will appreciate that the benefits of the present invention are met with a variety of different bit tips and the materials used therein.
- a particularly preferred variant of the invention is such that the chisel shaft has an expansion section in the region between the thread and the chisel head.
- This Dehnabites serves to bring in the tension of the bit by means of its thread relatively high elastic deformations and concomitantly a bias in the drill collar. Accordingly, the Dehnabites acts like a kind of spring. If now the chisel impinges on the hard ground to be processed, so the preload force is relieved due to the direction of stress and it sets a residual clamping force. The elastic deformation in the expansion section ensures that the residual clamping force is not completely eliminated. When the bit is then out of engagement with the ground, the bias in the expansion section builds up again.
- this should extend at least 20 mm and a maximum of 50 mm in the direction of the central longitudinal axis of the drill collar.
- the expansion section may have a section with a uniform cross section, in particular a cylindrical cross section and / or a cross section which changes in the direction of the central longitudinal axis of the drill collar.
- the expansion rate of the Dehnabiteses can be selectively adjusted.
- a preferred variant of the invention is such that the shank cross-section does not taper from the bit head towards the threaded portion and the threaded portion does not have a substantially smaller diameter than the transition area formed between the bit head and the threaded portion, and a nut is held on the thread. If the unlikely event of a chisel break occurs in which the bit head is torn off the bit shank, then with this configuration, the bit shank remaining in the bit holder can be withdrawn rearwardly from the bit holder.
- bit head in the region of the support surface has a circumferential recess and / or a circumferential projection.
- the forces acting on the bit change during the cutting process.
- the curved support surface of the bit can respond particularly well, as explained above.
- the chisel is held with its chisel shank in a chisel holder of the chisel holder or the like.
- a particularly strong pulse-like transverse force acts on the bit, so its axial portion is derived via the support surface in the bit holder.
- the radial portion tries to pivot the bit head relative to the bit holder, thereby additionally the bit shank is also subjected to bending.
- a tensile stress is also introduced into the drill collar via the threaded connection.
- the bit head in the region of the support surface has a circumferential recess and / or a circumferential projection.
- a corresponding projection or a corresponding projection can be made. be arranged. If, for example, a recess is arranged on the chisel head, then a projection of the chisel holder engages in it. This engagement results in a joint geometry that allows for improved force dissipation and reduces stresses in the chisel shaft.
- a design of a chisel makes it possible to compensate for manufacturing tolerances between the curved surface of the chisel and the chisel holder. For example, if a recess is incorporated into the bit head, so formed on both sides of the recess defined investment areas, which always ensure a sufficiently reliable surface contact between the bit and the bit holder. For this functionality, it must not be provided that, for example, a projection of the bit holder engages in a recess of the bit or when a projection is arranged on the bit, this projection engages in a recess of the bit holder.
- a recess is provided on the bit and / or on the bit holder.
- the bit holder and / or the bit are formed with recesses in which a circumferential sealing element is introduced.
- This circumferential sealing element for.
- As a copper ring, an O-ring or the like then prevents ingress of dirt in the region of the drill collar.
- the above-mentioned toothing, in which a projection and a recess of the bit or the chisel holder interlock, can also fulfill to some extent such a sealing effect in the form of a labyrinth seal.
- the recess and / or the projection rotate concentrically around the drill collar.
- the thread of the bit can carry a nut.
- This nut can be equipped with a sealing section. This seal prevents dirt from entering the chisel holder area in the chisel holder.
- the nut has a locking portion with peripheral locking surfaces.
- the locking portion abuts with its blocking surfaces on bearing surfaces of the bit holder and thus forms a positive fixing of the nut on the bit holder in the circumferential direction of the thread.
- the nut does not have to be held with a counter-tool.
- the nut is then set protected against abrasive attack on the bit holder.
- a voltage-optimized design of the nut is obtained when it is provided that the blocking surfaces are concave and are preferably merged into each other via convex transition sections. Such a geometry is also easy to manufacture.
- a further preferred variant of the invention may be such that the bit is designed as a forged part.

- the spatially smaller structural body 22 can be coated in a suitable coating system with the hard material.
- the connecting part 23 of wear-resistant material builds spatially larger than the support body 22 and therefore has a high wear capacity. It is also conceivable to form the entire chisel tip 20 in one piece. For example, the chisel tip could then be made of hard metal. It is also conceivable that the chisel head 11 is itself provided with a hard material coating forming the chisel tip, preferably made of superhard material. As a result, the parts cost can be significantly reduced.

- the nut 30 has five blocking surfaces 34, which are uniformly distributed at the same angular distance over the outer circumference of the nut 30.
- the nut 30 is penetrated by the thread 36. Subsequent to the thread 36, the nut 30 has a radial abutment surface 37 in the region of the sealing section 31.
- FIGS. 8 to 11 show a bit holder 40 for receiving the bit 10 shown in FIGS. 1 to 3.
- the bit holder 40 has a base part 41 which has a cylindrical outer contour. At its upper end, the bit holder 40 has a cylindrical projection 42. The diameter of the cylindrical projection 42 is selected to be slightly larger than the diameter of the base part 41.
- the cylindrical projection 42 forms a counter surface 44, which is spherically curved and concave.
- the bit holder 40 is connected to the mating surface 44 in a bit receptacle 45 on, which is formed here as a bore. Facing away from the mating surface 44, the bit receptacle 45 opens into a sealing section 46, which is designed as an inner cylinder, bore-like. In the sealing portion 46 bounding wall area a seal receptacle is introduced.

- This screwing-in movement can first be carried out by hand until the support surface 15 comes to rest on the mating surface 44.
- a suitable tool can be placed on the tool holder 14. With the tool then the bit 10 can be rotated while the threaded connection between the thread 19 and the thread 36 can then be clamped.
- the selected convex-concave pairings make it possible at the selected high tightening torques that a plastic deformation of the blocking surfaces 34 and the retaining surfaces 47.1 can not arise.
- the holding receptacle 47 is maintained in the desired shape and the chisel change a new nut 30 can be used reproducibly.
- the chisel tip 20 strikes the substrate to be removed and cuts into it.
- the removed material slides off the chisel tip 20.
- a high abrasive attack is caused here.
- This attack is the design of the bit 10 with the connecting part 23 bill, which consists of hard material, such as carbide.
- the connecting part 23 bill which consists of hard material, such as carbide.
- the abraded material After the abraded material has passed through the connecting part 23, it reaches the area of the discharge surface 13. It has then already lost a high part of its abrasiveness and can be continued safely by the discharge surface 13. It is guided by the discharge surface 13 radially outward and derived from the tool holder 14 and the bit holder 40 so that it is possible not worn or subject to only minor wear.
- the bit 10 can not rotate, it is initially worn on one side. This is permissible up to a certain wear limit. Then the bit 10 is released by means of the appropriate tool which acts on the tool holder 14. Subsequently, the nut 30 can be pulled out of the holding receptacle 47 and twisted again inserted into this. As a result of this rotation, the thread inlet into the thread 36 is also arranged opposite the bit holder 40 in a twisted position. If now the same chisel 10 again with the mother 30 is screwed, preferably the same tightening torque is to be selected again, then the chisel head 11 and thus the chisel tip 20 relative to the bit holder 40 in a corresponding rotated position to the plant. Then, the machining side of the bit 10 is formed by an untorn bit tip location.
- the bit 10 can be set in five mutually rotated positions on the bit holder 40. It has been found that such an arrangement is particularly advantageous in the application of the bit 10 for the purpose of fine milling of road surfaces.
- the bit 10 can be worn wear-optimized, while maintaining a high surface quality of the milled road surface.
- the wear-optimized exploitation of the bit tip 20 is not achieved, as is possible with 5 blocking surfaces. Using four blocking surfaces results in too high a variance in surface quality if the bit tip 20 is to be fully utilized.
- Fig. 14 shows a further embodiment variant of a chisel 10. This is identical except for the design of the drill collar 17 as the chisel 10 according to FIGS. 1 to 3. On the corresponding above statements, reference is therefore made. Furthermore, with the thread 19 of the bit 10, the mother 30 to be screwed according to FIGS. 4 to 7 and it can accordingly be installed in the bit holder 40 according to FIGS. 8 to 11.
- the drill collar 17 of the bit 10 according to FIG. 14 has an expansion section 17.1, which is designed in the form of a cross-sectional reduction in order to achieve an improved expansion behavior.
- FIG. 15 shows a milling drum 60 having a milling drum tube 61.
- a plurality of chisel holders 40 as shown in FIGS. 8 to 11 directly attached, for example, welded.
- the chisel holders carry the chisels 10, for example according to FIGS. 1 to 3.
- the chisel holder changing systems can also be installed according to FIGS. 12 and 13 with the milling drum tube 61, for example.
- the lower parts 50 are placed with their bearing surfaces 55 on the surface 62 and welded to the Fräswalzenrohr 60.
- FIGS. 16 to 19 show an alternative embodiment of the invention to Figs. 1 to 13 and 14, respectively, wherein the bit 10 and the bit holder 40 are slightly modified. Reference is therefore made to avoid repetition to the above statements and discussed below only the differences.
- a circumferential recess 15.1 is groove-shaped in the area of the support surface 15. This runs concentrically around the chisel axis M.
- FIGS. 18 and 19 show the bit holder 40, which has a peripheral projection 44.1 in the area of the mating surface 44. This is formed like a bead and also runs concentrically around the central longitudinal axis of the bit holder 40.
- the positioning of the projection 44.1 is chosen so that it engages in the mounted state of the bit 40 in the recess 15.1. In this way, a labyrinth-like seal in the region of the support surface 15 / mating surface 44 is formed, which impedes the ingress of dirt into the region of the bit receptacle 45. moreover is interrupted with the recess 15.1, the support surface 15, so that a reliable surface contact with the mating surface 44 is always guaranteed even in production-related deviations from the ideal shape.
- a ring for example, sealing ring, in particular a commercial O-ring or a copper ring or the like metal ring can be used. This can be inserted into a circumferential groove of the chisel holder 40 in the region of the counter surface 44. With its over the counter surface 44 protruding region of this sealing ring then engages in the recess 15.1.
- the chisel head 11 is provided on an outer circumference with a plurality of tool holders 14. These can be introduced as recesses in the outer contour of the chisel head 11. The recesses are open radially outwards and axially upwards. This makes it easy to start a tool from the chisel tip 20 ago. Furthermore, the tool holders 14 can not be clogged with spacer material or, if necessary, are easy to clean.
- FIGS. 22 to 27 Various embodiments of bit holder changing systems are shown in FIGS. 22 to 27 in which the above-described bits 10 in conjunction with the nut 30 shown in FIGS. 4 to 7 are used.
- the same reference numerals as used above are used to designate identical or equivalent components. It is therefore possible to fully refer to the foregoing.
- Fig. 22 shows a chisel holder changing system with a chisel holder 40, which carries on a base part 41 a one-piece molded-on plug 48. Furthermore, it is on the base part 41 a cylindrical projection 42 is formed. In the region of the cylindrical projection 42, a counter surface 44 corresponding to the mating surface 44 according to the chisel holder 40 according to FIGS. 8 to 11 is again formed. In the base part 41 and the cylindrical projection 42, a bit holder 45 is introduced, which terminates in a sealing portion 46. At the sealing portion 46, the holding receptacle 47 connects again, in which the nut 30 is inserted as shown in FIGS. 4 to 7.
- the nut 30 again has a locking portion 33 with blocking surfaces 34.
- the blocking surfaces 34 cooperate with holding surfaces 47.1 of the bit holder 40 together to secure the nut 30 against rotation.
- the nut 30 is again sealed with its sealing portion 31 and the seal 32 on the sealing portion 46 of the bit holder 40.
- the bit 10 with the thread 19 is screwed into the thread 36 of the nut 30 until the abutment surface 37 strikes the bit holder 40.
- the bit holder 40 is inserted with its plug projection 48 in a socket of a lower part 50.
- the bit holder 40 is supported against the lower part 50 and is held in the lower part 50 by a pressure screw 56 acting on the plug projection 48.
- FIG. 23 shows the combination of the bit holder 40 with the bit 10 as described above with reference to FIG. 22.
- FIG. 24 shows an embodiment variant of a chisel holder exchange system with a chisel holder 40 and a lower part 50.
- FIG. 26 shows a further embodiment variant of a chisel holder changing system with a chisel holder 40 and a lower part 50, which receives the chisel holder 40.
- Fig. 27 discloses a tooling system having a bit holder 40 in which the bit 10 is inserted.
- the bit holder 40 can be placed directly on the surface 62 of a Fräswalzenrohres 60 and attached thereto, for example, be welded.
