Schlagschutzfolien, wie sie beispielsweise zum Schutz von Lackschichten im Bereich von Stoßstangen bei Personenkraftwagen oder bei Fahrrädern eingesetzt werden, können trotz ihrer vergleichsweise geringen Dicke vermutlich aufgrund ihrer hohen Zugfestigkeit die auf das Fadenmaterial einwirkende Stoß- bzw. Schlagenergie besser absorbieren, sodass die örtliche Faserbelastung weitgehend in einem zulässigen Bereich bleibt und daher Faserbrüche in einem größeren Ausmaß auch bei wiederholten Stoß- und Schlagbeanspruchungen unterbunden werden können.
