  • The present invention relates to a rail vehicle having a display device for displaying variable visual information and a method for optically signaling passenger information on a door or a window of a rail vehicle.
  • Known is the display of information inside the rail vehicle on displays or monitors that are mounted inside the rail vehicle to the ceiling. Such monitors often display messages or passenger information or entertaining information. However, the presentation of passenger information does not take place at a particularly favorable location or where information is most needed.
  • From the document WO 2012 136 567 A1 For example, a rail vehicle with a translucent display device is known, in which a separating layer is arranged behind the display device, so that visual information is only visible from one viewing side.
  • Object of the present invention was to provide a solution for displaying visual information, in particular passenger information.
  • The invention is defined by the features of the independent claims.
  • Visually perceivable information is displayed in a side area of the rail vehicle, in particular on a door and / or a window and / or side wall. A side area is in particular the lateral boundary of the rail vehicle, in particular a car body.
  • In particular, the display is at the output and / or input of a rail vehicle, which is quite the case with a door. Windows and doors are where information is intuitively captured.   • An advantage of the invention is that with a display device on or in a door an additional possibility of lighting the entry area is given, whereby the safety of the passengers is increased. This advantage is achieved with a display as a display device.

Particularly preferred are flexible displays that can be applied to curved surfaces, such as door windows or window panes.   • In one embodiment of the invention, the rail vehicle has an information storage unit, from which information can be transmitted to the display device.   • In one embodiment of the invention, information can be transmitted wirelessly to the display device. The transmission can take place, for example, according to the Bluetooth standard or according to the WLAN standard. Examples of suitable standards for this are IEEE802.15, in particular IEEE802.15.1, IEEE802.15.2, IEEE802.15.3, IEEE802.15.1.4 or according to IEEE802.11.   • Bluetooth transmission is particularly useful when viewing static information that is occasionally changed.   • In a transmission of information by wireless means, the rail vehicle has a wireless or radio receiving device which is coupled to the display device. For example, a radio receiving device may be a Bluetooth or WLAN module. The radio receiving device may for example be integrated in a door leaf, a door frame, a window frame or a side wall.   • In a special variant, a radio receiving device is arranged in a door leaf which has a display device. Information can be transmitted by radio to the radio receiving device, and from it information can be transmitted to the display device or to a plurality of display devices wirelessly or by means of cables.   • According to the invention, the rail vehicle has a separating layer which is arranged between two display devices, so that the visual information is only visible from one viewing side.

  • An electrochromic glass uses the property of electrochromic materials to change the light transmission according to the applied DC voltage.   • The display devices 10 are not transparent where writing is shown in this example, whereas they remain transparent in the areas surrounding the writing. The connection of display, control unit and radio receiver unit with each other is preferably carried out by means of a cable connection, which is easily feasible within a door leaf. Alternatively, a radio link is also conceivable between these modules. Alternative embodiments of vertical and transverse beams may also be, for example, with only one or more vertical beams or only one or more transverse beams.
  • Fig. 4 shows a control device 17 within a hollow profile of the upper cross member 12. Also in the upper cross member 12, a WLAN module is housed as a radio receiving device 18. Alternatively, the WLAN module 18 may be housed in the central cross member 13 within a hollow profile of the carrier, as in the alternative representation bottom left in an enlarged view in the Fig. 4 shown. In Fig. 4 is also clearly visible how a display 5 is applied to the outside of the disc 8.
  • An information storage unit 25 is disposed in the door panel 3 below the WLAN module 18 in the vertical support 15 or 16. The accommodation can also take place elsewhere, for example within another cross member 12, 13, or 14 For example, the information storage unit may be accommodated in the area where the controller 17 for the display 5 is housed.
    Fig. 5 shows a disc 30, in fragmentary representation. The disk 30 may be one of the previously described door or window panes. On the outside of the display device 31 is applied. For example, the display device 31 is a flexible LCD display. Between the disc 30 and the display device 31, the separation layer 32 is arranged. The separation layer 32 causes contents of the display device 31 to be viewed from the inside of the vehicle (in FIG Fig. 5 right side) are not visible from.
  • It can be arranged on the inside of the disc 30, a further display device, which in turn is provided with a release layer, so that display devices (31 and a not shown further) are arranged on both sides of the disc 30. Both display devices and separating layers would then be arranged mirror-symmetrically. And the separating layer 32, and the further separating layer, not shown here, would then be located between the two display devices.
  • The separation layer 32 may have a variable light transmittance. For example, the separation layer 32 is implemented as a variable transmittance glass in which the light transmittance can be changed by applying an electric voltage.

Claims (13)

  1. A rail vehicle (1), comprising
    - a side area, comprising at least one door (2) with at least one door leaf (3), a side wall (20) and at least one window (4),
    - two light-transmissive displaying means (5, 10; 31), set up for showing variable visual information, wherein the displaying means are arranged in the side area of the rail vehicle,
    is characterized in that
    - the displaying means are displays, where one display faces the outside of the rail vehicle and the other display faces the inside of the rail vehicle, and
    - a separating layer (32) which is arranged between the two displays and has a variable degree of light transmission so that the transparency of the separating layer is reducible and the visual information on one of the displays is visible only from one viewing side.
  2. A rail vehicle according to claim 1, wherein the displaying means
    - Is embedded in the door leaf (3) or is mounted on a panel (30), which is part of the door leaf, and/or
    - is connected with the window (4), especially mounted on a window pane (6; 30), and/or
    - is embedded in the side wall (20).
  3. A rail vehicle according to one of the preceding claims, wherein the displaying means (5; 31) is set up for showing variable visual information on the outside of the side area.
  4. A rail vehicle according to one of the preceding claims, wherein the displaying means (10) is set up for showing variable visual information on the inside of the side area.
  5. A rail vehicle according to one of the preceding claims, comprising an information storage unit (25), from which information can be transmitted to the displaying means.
  6. A rail vehicle according to claim 5, wherein the information storage unit (25) is arranged in the door leaf.
  7. A rail vehicle according to one of the preceding claims, wherein information can be transmitted wirelessly to the displaying means (5, 10).
  8. A rail vehicle according to one of the preceding claims, wherein a radio receiving unit (18) is arranged in the door leaf, to which information can be transmitted by radio and from which information can be transmitted to the displaying means (5, 10) or to a plurality of displaying means.
  9. A rail vehicle according to claim 7 or 8, wherein the information can be transmitted according to the Bluetooth standard or the WLAN standard.
  10. A method for the optical signalling of passenger information in a side area of a rail vehicle, in particular on or in a door (2), on or in a window (4) and/or on or in a side wall of a rail vehicle (1), encompassing
    a) Provision of a rail vehicle according to one of the claims 1-9,
    b) Display the passenger information on one of the displays,
    c) Reduction of the transparency of the separating layer so that the separating layer prevents that the passenger information is visible from a side, facing away from the viewing side of the display.
  11. A method according to claim 10, wherein the passenger information is displayed on the outside with an option to select from stop information, a destination, a departure time, a time to departure, a waiting time, a time till destination, a occupancy status, a fault report, information about a close or alternative boarding point, a transfer point, route information, a fault message, or a combination of one or more thereof.
  12. A method according to claim 10 or 11, wherein the passenger information is displayed on the inside with an option to select from station information, orientation information for a station and/or for the area surrounding a
    station, infrastructure information for a station, route information, transfer information, information about a close or alternative exit point, a waiting time, a time till destination, a fault report or a combination of one or more thereof.
  13. A method according to one of the claims 8-10, wherein the content of the passenger information is controlled using location information based on the given location of the rail vehicle (1).
